We had the most amazing time in in Porto Venere whilst staying in this exceptional property. My family have been to many places throughout the world and we operate our own award winning wedding and event business in Scotland so we understand the importance of all that is required for high end self catering provision. This wonderful holiday rental has it all, overlooking the tranquil Tyrrhenian Sea. Everything within was simply perfect albeit we much enjoyed the quality and service of the many restaurants that are in the local area. The swimming pool is one of the largest and most peaceful places to melt the day away yet not so far down the road, just a 2 minute walk, you can find a small collection of restaurants and bars to enjoy a relaxing refreshment. We didn't need a hire car as there was a regular bus service on the door step which took a quick circular route into the main marina area. A week went too quickly and so we would love to return one day.
Definitely book this one for a week or two if you can find availability! Terresa is the perfect host - thankyou , thankyou!!..... we were so grateful for finding this hidden gem.

Property was better than we expected and we started with high expectations. Having an amazing pool, bedrooms with proper AC, and an ocean front view is difficult to find. We’d start the mornings at the sea and then walk across to enjoy the pool.
Most memorable was our time at the pool, coffee in the garden, and cooking family dinners. At night, we’d take an amazing walk along the water to city center where we’d shop, eat gelato, and sit to take in the beautiful surroundings.
We looked for the best property for a great Italian vacation and am confident in saying this is a one of a kind, special property.
Teresa was friendly and helpful from booking through our stay. Responses to our questions were answered quickly and clearly. She was kind and respectful.

The property was everything as advertised. Special location and Teresa was a great host. Loved the pool and beach.

We really enjoyed our visit to this beautiful and spacious house at the end of july 2023. We were a group of 2 adults and 5 tween/ teenage children so the was plenty of space for us all.
It it exactly as described and in a perfect location. There are many amenities close by to walk to which is very convenient, including many lovely restaurants. We enjoyed spending time at the huge pool and also being so close to the beach with a pier that the children loved jumping off into the sea. My children especially loved having the freedom to explore on their own.
We were unlucky that all the ferries and boats were not running for a lot of the week due to wind (although it was not windy in porto venere itself) so we didnt get to explore cinque terre much, but luckily we had a beautiful house and pool in a lovely town so we were happy.
Teresa was very helpful arranging restaurant reservations and transportation for us as i didnt have a car.
My only suggestion would be for perhaps some plastic cups in the kitchen.
I would recommend this property for anyone to stay at and i would definitely stay here again if we ever return to this area.

We had a wonderful stay at Villa Argia! The house was clean, well-maintained, the air-conditioning in the bedrooms worked well, and everyone enjoyed the salt water pool! We appreciated the welcome fruit, bread and drinks upon arrival! The location was perfect! There was a swimming beach right across from the house, a small store with necessities less than a 2 minute walk, an excellent restaurant also 2 minutes away, and the main town with shops and the ferry, less then 10 minutes away. Visiting Cinque Terre was easy, and coming back to the villa after a long day with the crowds was a great way to relax and appreciate the beautiful view! Highly recommend this villa and Teresa was very helpful in answering questions and arranging taxis to La Spezia!

Our family of 6 people - 4 adults and two kids, 4 and 6 years old, had the most wonderful vacation week at Pink Villa in Portovenere. Great memories will stay with us for years. Everything was wonderful, from the way how Theresa and her husband greeted us on our arrival, they made a special reservation at the very popular restaurant for our daughter’s birthday. We only wish to come back some day again.
Thank you very much Theresa for that wonderful week!!

We enjoyed our stay at this house. I imagined that I was staying at my Italian grandmother's house, if I were Italian! The furnishings are mostly antique and have an old world feel to it. Pictures of the family are everywhere. So, if you like that aesthetic, this is definitely for you! The location is wonderful with a view of the sea and ease of walking into town and to the port. A few things could use freshening, including the salt water pool. A lot of the tiles were missing and there was debris at the bottom. The children used it once, but we spent most of our time on nearby beaches and beach clubs instead (Eco del Mare in Lerici and the one right in front of the house were lovely - different vibes and ends of the spectrum, but both recommended). It's wonderful having the option of the pool though since not many houses in the area had one. The owner was absolutely lovely. There was an odd sewage smell on our first day throughout the house that apparently happens during certain weather with the pipes (old towns/old houses, it happens), but she immediately sent over a housekeeper to remedy the situation. We didn't have a problem after that. She was also very helpful with recommending a car service, restaurants, galleries, and boat services. We felt like locals walking the streets and passing by the merchant that sold us our Portovenere made sandals and the restaurateurs we dined with nights before. We didn't use the kitchen at all, so I can't attest to its functions. We woke up every morning and walked over to the Moon cafe for breakfast and cappuccinos. I can cook when I'm not in Italy and don't have a wonderful restaurant like Il Timone just down the street to wander over to for dinner. I would definitely recommend a stay here. The town of Portovenere is terribly charming and relaxed. A nice respite from the beautiful, but chaotic towns of Cinque Terre.

We stayed here for a week and enjoyed every minute. The house is a gem. Every piece of furniture and design was very well thought out. The photos do not do the pool justice. We went to cinque terre (about a 45 minute boat ride) almost everyday but the town of portovenere was a perfect holiday alone. There is a wonderful beach club right outside of the villa and a great restaurant that we had dinner at almost every night. Hosts were responsive and even gave us tons of recommendations for our next stop. Would go back in a heartbeat.
My only note is that the wifi wasn't able to support both my husband and I working at the same time on video conferences.

A spectacular villa in a spectacular location. Been to Italy on four other trips- this experience was the easiest, most relaxing and most true Italian experience. Portovenere is perfect in so many ways- easy access, easy walk to restaurants, shopping and ferry, making it effortless to travel to 8 separate locations. A complete no stress way to experience some of the most incredible beautiful cities of the world. The Villa is more than comfortable, spacious and Italian architecture at its best. Highly recommend this Villa and this location. Teresa could not have been more accommodating and willing to help with everything from dinner reservations to Covid testing appointments. A perfectly easy way for an American to experience Italia at its best!
Thanks so much Teresa!

Overall the property and location were amazing. Literally steps from the beach and a 15 minute walk to old town. Shops and restaurants were a 1-2 minute walk from the house. Views from the home and pool were amazing. Pool house was great as it provided separate, private accommodations for 2. Very nice outdoor dining on the patio facing the sea. Due to the fanciness of the home and marble flooring and many house rules, not recommended for small children.

This villa is in the best location I could imagine for exploring the Cinque Terre area. First, Portovenere is a great town with great restaurants, bars, beaches and quaint shops. It also isn't served by a train and isn't one of the five villages, so it is less crowded, but only a very short ferry ride to the villages. The villa itself is ideally located in the town -- a short walk to everything, but not right downtown so it is quiet, and across the street from the sea. In short, I think we got very lucky with the best possible place we could have stayed. Teresa is a delight and the accommodations and grounds exceeded all expectations. A very special place.

Villa Argia is a wonderful property and perfectly located. It is ideal for any family or larger group wishing to visit Cinque Terre. From Portovenere you will have easy access by ferry to most of the villages. The ferry terminal is an easy 10 minute walk from Villa Argia and you will be able to visit one, two or even three of the villages during a one day outing. Once back in Portovenere you will enjoy its numerous restaurants, town squares and medieval streets.
Our group of 8 family members, age 3 to 65 spent the most memorable 5 days at the villa. The main house is a beautiful 3 bedroom /3.5 bath estate home. There is also a very comfortable one bedroom guest house closer to the pool and garden area. The property is immaculately clean and shows pride of ownership throughout.
Giving its central location steps away from the beach, it is a surprisingly very private domaine. Villa Argia is surrounded by numerous terraces, an immense garden and a very large salt water pool. No matter where you are on the grounds you have beautiful views of the sea.
If you are planning a visit to "Cinque Terre" and Villa Argia is within your budget and available, do not hesitate to book it.
Thank you Teresa and Francesco for your prompt and professional responses to all our queries. It was a real privilege to stay at the "Pink Lady"!

Thanks is not enough to express our gratitude to the owners of this traditional home that made our stay so memorable.
We enjoyed a very relaxing week in part because we felt we had our own private sanctuary on what is otherwise a very busy and "touristy" part of the Italian coastline. To be able to retreat to the villa and sit in its well manicured gardens or by the pool was indeed a blessing.
The kitchen is well equipped and it almost feels as if the owners vacated the day before you arrived and left the fridge and pantry well stocked with basis essentials. The milk, fruit, bread, orange juice, wine etc thoughtfully purchased for us before our arrival was a welcoming touch.
The villa was very clean and neat. It was cool in the heat of the day. The owners presence to welcome you upon arrival is a nice touch and their orientation walk through plus recommendations on local restaurants and attractions greatly appreciated. They even went to the trouble of making a couple of reservations for us to ensure we were well accommodated in local eateries.
We will definitely recommend this place to friends and plan to return ourselves.

Absolutely amazing experience! This is a true Italian Villa, meticulously and lovingly maintained with every amenity, located in Portovenere (which in our opinion was hands down the best choice we made). I'm not sure you can find a better town if you are planning day trips to Cinque Terre, Portofino, Santa Margherita and other local areas. There is so much to see. The ferry leaves from the town center and we used local taxi's for other excursions. The property takes your breath away as it's located on a hillside overlooking the sea. The property is much bigger than we expected and the kids loved walking down the stairs to the local pier to dive in the water. They also walked on their own to get food and gelato and enjoyed the freedom of the town. We felt safe and by the end felt like locals :) The town is amazing with grocery stores, an abundance of cafes, restaurants, and shops. Teresa went above and beyond to make sure our stay was incredible. The communication before and during our stay was so appreciated. She also helped us plan local day trips. It's hard to convey just how amazing this property is. The photos don't capture the magnificence of the home or the area. We were two families travelling together and we all agreed this was the most spectacular property we have ever rented in every regard.

We fell in love with this villa the moment that we arrived. The photos do not convey the beauty of this house or the surrounding area. It felt like home from the moment we went through the front door till the time that we left.
The property is a prominent local landmark, lovingly cared for by the family who have owned it for over 60 years. The building dates to the 19th century and is surrounded on one side by a terraced olive grove. The pool is simply spectacular and will inspire envy amongst your friends when they see the pictures. It made for a truly unique and memorable vacation!
Teresa was extremely helpful during the entire process, from booking inquiries to setting up local reservations. She was a very gracious host and I am thankful for all that she did to make our visit very special.
The central piazza of Portovenere is about a ten minute walk from the villa. There are a number of excellent restaurants nearby, as well as amenities such as markets and pharmacies. This location is not the isolated rural villa of Tuscan fantasy, so be prepared for the reality of modern life (street noise, etc). If you are curious about the surrounding area then I would recommend using Google Earth to view it,.
In short, I was very happy with my experience here and I plan on returning again. It was superb and, in my opinion, very reasonably priced for such a unique experience. 5 Stars.

We enjoyed a WONDERFUL week at this beautiful house from June 3-10. I chose this property AND the town of Portovenere based on other traveler's great reviews, so I will take the time to elaborate on our experience.
1)The property/house: amazing! The pictures don't do it justice. The main house is beautiful, colonial and renovated in the 90's. Cool marble floors, airy and light-filled bedrooms- each with their own bathroom. Also a half-bath downstairs off the living room. There are 3 bedrooms in the main house, then a 4th bedroom and bathroom with it's own little living area in the 'pool house' which is a few steps away. We were a group of 8 - two couples in their 30's and 2 couples in their 60's. Everyone was comfortable. Note: there is NO A/C which was not an issue for us at the beginning of June (highs in the mid-70's) but maybe would be later in the summer. Kitchen is very functional. The pool is incredible and the entire property has stunning views! We enjoyed prosecco on the balcony every evening.
2) Location: Portovenere is the hidden gem of this region. The scenery is breath-taking - green terraced hillsides ending into the blue mediterranean - all the beauty of Cinque terre without the crowds. It is definitely a resort town, but in a much more laid back way than the hectic little towns of Cinque Terre. On two separate days we took the boat to Cinque Terre (around 20-30 min to the first town). *Note: the boats run multiple times per day to most of the towns of Cinque Terre but DEPENDING ON THE SEAS/WEATHER, so there were a couple days that no boats were running. (don't leave a trip to Cinque Terre to the last day). The house is a 1 minute walk to the beach/oceanfront, a 2 minute walk to get coffee/gelato and a 10-12 minute easy, flat walk along the promenade to the main center of town with many wonderful restaurants.
3) Communicating with owners - 5 stars! Teresa was incredibly responsive and helpful in every way. She answered questions via email immediately, and was at the house for our arrival and departure. She also helped us arrange activities such as visiting a local wine tasting room (Ca Lunae, a must!), and making dinner reservations.
Overall, the entire week was a mediterranean dream come true- and staying in this house was the best part! FYI First week of June was great weather:) Ocean warm enough to swim.
We would recommend this property to family and friends. It would also make a STUNNING small wedding venue. Hope to return!

The Villa is beautiful, amazing grounds, fab pool, and all overlooking the sea. Its actually closer to the town than we expected, just a short walk to restaurants and shops, everything within easy reach including boats to Cinque Terra and the islands. Our host had also left a welcome pack including fruit bowl, wine and prosecco, all of which was appreciated while relaxing in the sun by the pool! A really fabulous property, clean, well equipped, everything you need for a great holiday. We loved it!
