We were given a second apartment

Arrived at a freezing cold apartment ,no heating & thermo stat reading 9 degrees ,outside was 2 degrees. The apartment was dirty with stains on the carpets ,the extractor fan was broken & without a covering therefore showing the electrics inside which was covered in dirt & cobwebs & obviously unsafe .Inside the oven was dirty with a dirty cooking tray .The kitchen obviously hadn't been cleaned . Following 3 conversations with Guestz a maintenance worker arrived who realised how cold it was & he suggested another apartment .The second apartment met the standards expected .The first apartment did not meet health & safety standards nor the required legal temperature for holiday accommodation. It is unacceptable for the owners of the property to let their apartments when they are aware of the conditions therein the place inside .It was not fit for purpose . We are a group of nurses who travel from the north & south of England to meet up annually & this experience was very disappointing & unacceptable .We would never book in this accommodation again .

The location was good, but then I selected it for the location.

The kitchen was under equipped. There were only 4 mugs for a party of 5 and only 5 dinner plates. There were no bowls except cereal bowls and no chopping boards. Only one tea towel. Of the 4 light bulbs in the kitchen only one worked. The bathroom was dirty, in fact the whole place was grubby. My brother dropped a ring and when looking for it found biscuits under the sofa, and crisps under the sofa cushions.

Light on outside apartment door that shined through and kept the group up through the night.

The location and layout were ideal for us as we had 4 adults and 3 children to accommodate.. the bedrooms were of a good size and everything was clean. You are only 5 minutes walk from the centre of Settle.

The bed we had was a bit hard and we could hear the waste pipe when the toilet wash flushed on the floor above, which sounded like there was a water leak when we first heard it. Car parking is an issue as you have to park on one of the nearby public car parks. Many of the apartments can accommodate several people and two of them had about 8 cars between them taking all spaces.

Location space cleanliness views

Nice location, clean and modern facilities, nice village and ideal for touring Yorkshire Dales and Lake District. Nice size 3 bedrooms and well equipped kitchen making self-catering easy.

Detail but bedroom doors top parts are glass reducing intimacy. Also watch out for the French translation of check-in instructions they are literally translated and come across a bit harsh.

There was no named parking space which we were specifically told we must use. We rang and you said it was ok to use any. We ended up being in someone else’s spot which was awkward. The oven is very difficult to use, the grill doesn’t work and there are no instructions! Could do with more crockery. There were no complimentary soap, shower gel, shampoo/conditioner etc as stated!
