Perfect place to stay if you want direct access to the historic train ride. Good stay, nice breakfast. They were kind enough to pack us snack for our hike. There is a small room for the kids to play. Good value for the money.

Nothing to dislike. If you want to be at Wernigerode then it's 9 km away.

The bed was a tad hard, but I slept well anyway.

The hotel is in a very good location. You can see the stream engine train from the room and can anak go out for a nice walks. The breakfast was also pretty good.

The dinner was pretty mediocre, but the breakfast was good so I have and mixed feelings.

Amazing location, close to a lot of walking routes. I had an apartment with a view of the train station and every now and then a train toots into the station. The breakfasts buffet isi extensive and excellent.

Sadly the Harz region has had a lot of trouble with a bug that kills the pinetrees. The region the hotel is in is in is hit by this also. The apartments were not fully booked and this was nie since they are quite close together. It was fine now, but can imagine its a bit crowded when fully booked.

I was hiking the Harzer-Hexen-Stieg and stayed at the Hotel Der Kräuterhof for one night. The staff were welcoming and helpful during my stay. My room was spacious, clean, quiet. The bed was comfortable. I enjoyed my evening meal, vegetable strudel, at the Hotel's restaurant. Breakfast was good however a little light one for someone who was hiking. I ordered a packed lunch which was fresh and consisted of two sandwiches, a piece of fruit, snack bar and a bottle of water.

Superb location, scenic and accessible. Fun because the Brockenbahn ran outside. Room spacious and well-fitted, bathroom good too. Dinner excellent and good value the chef's tomato soup was to die for! Breakfast had so many buffet choices.

Overnight guests had to pay to park in public parking belonging to and run by hotel - counting as two days for our one night stop! And not refunded from the bill!

We‘ve booked at apartment room no. 515 and think it should be good but not!! the room was not clean and smelled like a dog or a cat. The bathroom was so bad. The water was not gut drain after took a shower for one minute we felt like we were in a swimming pool. The restaurant had only one Waitress we had to wait for the food so long, we felt so poor to her. And reception personal in the morning was not so friendly, she was even not smile to us.

Good room, which was spotlessly clean. Breakfast included in the price was a huge buffet of very high quality. I hiked in from the Brocken mountain, and the hotel is very well situated for visiting the Brocken by foot or by stream train, which leaves right in front of the hotel.

There only were few staff, who seemed a bit overwhelmed with their job and didn't live up to the excellent standard of the hotel itself. I was left standing at the reception for 5 min, while two people working at the bar right next to me were studiously ignoring my presence. This was while there were no customers at the bar and only one table occupied in the restaurant. The comfort of the bed was average, the spring mattress felt a bit tired and both pillows provided were so overstuffed that sleeping on them was fairly uncomfortable. The food in the restaurant was good, but a bit pricey.

Great location, right along the Harzer Hexen-Stieg and directly opposite the historic steam engine station. Comfortable rooms and a very varied, Taste breakfast buffet. Price was fair.

Steam engine may annoy some people (but I fpund it charming and relaxing).

Perfect location, just opposite to the train station offering direct connection to the Brocken and several cities. In a minute walk you are in the nature, with lots of walking and hiking opportunities. Perfect as part of a multi day hiking holiday. Easy check-in.

Single room is indeed a single room: very small. Unfortunately, I had to ask for towers as they were not present in the room at arrival. Chairs in the restaurant are not very comfy when you have to wait for being served.

Excellent breakfast and nice sauna. Good apartment, clean and all comfort there.

Be sure and check in on time because if you are late there is NO way to get in. The "emergency' number doesn't answer and you'll end up sleeping in your car. Making guests pay for parking in such a remote location is annoying. The beautiful outside terrace closes up at 6pm, even on delightful summer evenings. Far out of town so you need to driver 15+ minutes to get to shops or restaurants.

The hotel is at the perfect location and very nicely maintained. Breakfast was also good.

We asked for the slippers at the counter later but it could have been kept in the room earlier by the staff.

Well, prior to arriving I double-checked the check-in time (using Booking's chat function) and then learned about the necessity to reserve a table for dinner. That was really helpful as when we were there it was clear that all tables were booked and that there was no chance for a spontaneous dinner without a reservation. I really liked the breakfast! Great beds!
