This was one of the best properties we’ve stayed in. The fact that there are no children under 16 allowed on site is paradise if you are neurodivergent or just enjoy a more calm environment, and the cats are great therapy. The staff are really friendly and the location, building and facilities are superb. It’s been built with love and it shows.

The shower pressure could be a little stronger, and maybe a more varied breakfast menu would benefit, but these tiny points don’t spoil this wonderful place.

The room we stayed is was great.

It was far from center and there are very little restaurants in the area away from the estate.

Everything about this estate was amazing and you can tell the owners have thought about every little detail! Our room was perfect. When my husband, who travels for work, says “this room is way nicer than any Marriot room I’ve ever stayed in” you know it’s great! The bed was comfy, and we had everything we need and more (welcome beers, robes, glass wear with coffee maker, towel warmer, etc). The breakfast in the morning was so delicious with fresh jams, fruit, breads and yogurt. The Gin Library is so cool and the complementary gin drink they made us was exceptional! The only thing I was disappointed in is that we missed having dinner on site because they were not hosting it on the evening we were there; however, Caroline made a reservation for us at an amazing restaurant in Ponta Delgada an 8 min drive away. I can’t recommend this enough! Thanks for an amazing stay.

The breakfast was all made from local products! The butter for example came from the cow on the fields next to us! The staff was excellent and super hospitable!

Some bugs but that is expected in the country!

Solar Branco was an amazing experience. It’s not just a place to stay, it’s a whole story to tell when you get home. I’ll let you discover it by yourselves, but if you plan to go to the Azores, do not even try to find another place to stay. The owners Ali and Caroline are really something else, warm and helpful, generous and so welcoming. We wish we could have stay more in this wonderful place ✨

Beautiful estate in a peaceful setting. The building has been updated in a way that keeps the original charm but provides all the modern finishes you’d expect. Nice touches like complimentary refreshments in-room, gin o’clock, etc. Ali and Caroline and the entire staff are friendly and helpful - great service. Centrally located on the island, so a good jumping off point. Enjoyed trying their gin brand too!

There’s not much within immediate walking distance of the estate.

Lovely quiet location in a rural setting. Very friendly staff and interactive owners. Clean, neat and tidy with an excellent Gin bar and selection on site. The dinner was also exceptional.
