My friend and I felt like it was Home away from Home. We're both homebodies and we throughly loved the cozy cottage. It gave us both room for ourselves after days of shopping, looking at beautiful waterfalls and delicious meals in downtown. Each detail was thought about by the owners well before we arrived. Especially enjoyed the screen in porch and the simple detail of having extension cord for easy reach for cell phones.

All the details were thought through. We were so pleased with the cottage and all it had to offer. The screened in porch and fire pit area were great additional living spaces for our family of 4.

Great cozy cottage for our 4 night winter stay. Downtown Highlands was a 3 minute drive and the Mirror Lake neighborhood has always been one of our favorite spots. We enjoyed the warmth and glow of the wood stove, only wished it had been warm enough to enjoy the inviting porch. We will save that for next time!

For such a tiny place this property sure has it all! We really enjoyed our stay. I was excited to keep all five members of our family (2, 7, and 10, plus my husband and myself) close as can be. Sometimes big houses offer so much space…but less connection as a result. My husband thought I was a little crazy. I loved that the hosts thought to put extra towels in the house since longer stays sometimes require washing if there aren’t extras. There WAS a laundry machine squeezed in which was also extremely useful. The kids loved the loft though I had paranoia about the gaps in the railing. It would be nice to have a TV in the master so kids could sleep upstairs without parents sacrificing movie night, but we were happy to read books etc instead. Kitchen was lovely. We all had a place to sit for family movies, even though we were doubtful we’d fit from the photos! Fireplace /stove worked great. Loved the little wet bar area. Aesthetics were just beautiful which was the top reason I booked:). I am very impressed.

Amazing cottage in Mirror Lake neighborhood. The house had a lot of amenities with easy to access the town of Highlands and the surrounding areas. We will definitely be going back.

This Cottage is truly cozy. A beautiful setting and perfect location. We loved the morning walks to town and couldn't have enjoyed the screened porch and fire pit more. We had everything we needed and more in this sweet space. The second bedroom is a bit small, but not a deal breaker.

This was just perfect for a quick business trip. There was plenty of room for two and it was a relaxing retreat to come back to. Thanks for a lovely stay.

This house is adorable! Perfectly beautiful in every way -Great location to downtown Highlands. Very quiet neighborhood with great walking to mirror lake. Shannon is a great host and made our stay so enjoyable- highly recommend this cottage for a wonderful vacation!

This cottage is well designed and not overdone in both the architectural improvements and in the decor. The location was very convenient to the heart of Highlands. The screened in porch was a particular favorite of mine. The owner is very responsive!!!!

Very cozy ,clean and very country style. Over the atmosphere around . Cabin is hidden getaway gem. Center of everything . Wish we had more time to enjoy fire work and mores .

Great for a long weekend in Highlands

The house is small, but that did not make a difference to us. When not hiking or zip lining, we spent the majority of our time on the screened in porch or at the fire pit. This house is very tastefully furnished with lots of little surprising extras. We will definitely stay again.

I researched cities to find one that restricted loud fireworks. Highlands, NC does not allow this type so we made reservations. The night before July 4th someone in the neighborhood set off fireworks so loud that it sounded like a war zone. I called the police but could not provide an address - just an area. We left the next day. The owner was very nice but it was a disappointing trip.

We had a wonderful time at this precious house. It was equipped with everything we needed.
