The hotel was beautiful and clean. The location was great. The staff was not great, though. They were on phones and distracted. Trying to check in took forever just to get the attendant’s attention. Breakfast was frustrating because the waffle maker quit working and the hot options were disgusting. Overall, it a beautiful spot, but don’t plan on much assistance or getting breakfast there.

This is a somewhat dated property that is safe and serviceable, but the wear-and-tear is fairly apparent, and the cleanliness of the bathroom was not the best. The air conditioner was "all or none" and quite noisy. There is easy parking and we left too early for the breakfast, but it seemed as though it would be reasonable as these go. This is not a bad place at all, just needs some updating. There was new bathroom flooring and new bathroom fixtures, so this was at least a plus. Just fine, nothing fancy.

I like the location and the lake view. However, the bathroom cabinet door came out and hit my chin and foot. Also the shower door would not stay closed. Lastly, breakfast was supposed to be until 9:00 but the eggs were gone.

Room clean and check in easy and staff pleasant but curtain covering sliding glass door was tattered and falling down in spots and bathroom door would not stay latched.

This seemed lime a nice place before and the new owners are trying to keep it up. Used for one night on a road trip. No issues with room or hotel.

Stayed here while visiting the Dunes. Arrived at 12:30 pm on Saturday, room not ready (no worries...check-in is at 3:00 pm). Went to grab lunch (went to Lucrezia Cafe....5 stars!) Came back about 2:30, room ready. Carried luggage inside and learned that **they do not have an elevator**. The staff upon arrival were very nice. Our room was on the 2nd floor, and unfortunately my knees aren't as good as they used to be. Made it upstairs (with great difficulty, and injured my knee), went into the room. Average room for a 2 star hotel, though they are decently large. Got a room with a king size bed and rollout, and a view of the lake. If you stay, the rooms facing the lake have a fantastic view. The balcony that looks over the lake was small, with two chairs, but it was quite enjoyable to sit out and watch the gulls and other birds. Bathroom was decent, but the bed left much to be desired (though this is a very subjective view based solely on my preferred softness of mattress). It was quite hard (but very clean) and made for a very difficult night's sleep. Breakfast in the hotel was standard fare for hotel hospitality breakfast: eggs, waffles, and sausage. Sausage wasn't bad, but the waffle batter they used was not very good (IMHO). In addition, my wife overheard several staff members disparaging another staff member on duty, which is never a good thing. While we plan on visiting the area again, we won't be staying at Best Western Indian Oak. The lack of elevator

We were there for one night. The woman at the front desk was kind, so no problems there. But once we got to our room, that's when the problems began. Upon opening the door, there was an absolute overwhelming smell of Febreze. I don't know if they just Febreze the bedding or the whole room, but it was too much. We went to the patio door to open it to get air in the room, and found a big hole in the screen door. And the curtain on the patio door was stained and gross. It also had, what appeared to be, toothpaste in multiple spots on it. As our stay continued, we started noticing just how run-down and dirty the room was. There was a blue stain on the carpet between the beds, stains on the quilts and blankets and the inside of the coffee maker was gross with what I'm assuming was some sort of build-up. Also - the coffee maker was in the bathroom....that didn't sit right with me either. The table in the room had the top peeling off, there were holes in the walls and the shower didn't work correctly. Overall, we were incredibly disappointed. Definitely not worth the $240 we paid for one night.

At the end of the day that's the most important part. BUUUUUUTTTTT... The place is legit falling apart. The first thing I noticed was looking for an outlet to plug my phone into; 1 electrical socket came completely out of the wall. The entire blue plastic casing around it and all. Dangling by wires. I took a photo which I of course didn't think to save after I showed the desk member bc clearly thats super unsafe, especially w little kids. Second outlet i plugged into, it laughed at me and spit it back out. No really, i think it was so old and worn, it couldn't even grasp the charger prongs. I tried 3 times and it fell to the floor. Went to the pool w my 3 kids in the evening to let them finish up their energy burst from the day. The windows are covered in mold all around the edges. Clearly the seals have given way bc most are cloudy and white looking. There are large vents above the pool in the ceiling that are hanging at least 4-8" from the above drywall they should be affixed to. At one point, the desk attendee came in yelling at a small group of girls (i suppose she saw them on camera) that if they continued to jump in the pool she would have to kick them out. Huh? For jumping in the pool? No, they were NOT diving. Just jumping in. Breakfast was OK and filled our bellies but for 300 a night, I'll look elsewhere next time!

Additionally, our shower was broken, and we had trouble getting clean towels. The breakfast was very basic and unimpressive. Overall, I feel like we drastically overpaid for this room and did not receive the value we expected.

The location was great. The rate changed on Expedia after reservation was made?! I did not like that you had to get your own towels for room and pool. Inconvenience when you are really only there to sleep
