Very comfortable and clean. Handy having restaurant downstairs. Perfect place to stay on the way home to Brisbane. Only one thing of note, and that is that the toilet doors open inwards and there is no room to walk in because the toilet is in the way. Otherwise loved it and would definitely stay again

Delicious meals in the bistro downstairs. Room was clean and bed was comfortable but bathroom door was broken. My husband was able to fix the door and the Manager shouted us a round of drinks at the bar which we really appreciated. The beer garden at the pub was beautiful with jasmine flowers everywhere!

The “royal” hotel closes on Kings birthday! We were called at 2 wanting to know when we would arrive, because they were closing!! I said we were at least two hours away and what about the bistro for dinner; NO we are closing early it’s a public holiday. What hotel closes on a PH???? Our key was left in potplant. Going in back way wasn’t pleasant. Room was ok. One little soap,nothing else. No washers. No extra pillows. Very low grade tea and coffee. Not worth what we paid. Very disappointing.

I got a single room, no bathroom and the curtains were not up properly causing the street lights and sun to cone through. Also the shared showers had no hot water so a cold shower was had to be had. Next time ill try and get a shower in a room.

Pluses; Check-in staff member was friendly and helpful. Bistro dinner was good. Minuses: ‘Executive suite’ ensuite room needed work - paint was peeling from bathroom ceiling, bathroom door wouldn’t close fully, air conditioner made odd noises during the night. Central location, parking available on-street or at the rear of the property. Surprised at 4.1 rating - more like a 2.5. Basic room in need of some work and certainly not what we’d call an ‘executive suite’. Priced right ($127 after discount) but below expectations.

Great spot to stay for a stopover. Convenient to everything in the main street and the bistro downstairs does a great meal. Very comfortable stay and would definitely recommend.
