Amazing place! Picturesque and quaint, nestled within scenic countryside. One of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had. Highly, highly, highly recommend it to anyone. Seems to itself more to couples or families with older teenage kids. It’s not a playful hotel.

Such a lovely, transporting stay at this beautiful country manor. The public areas are especially chic. The Nina room had an outstanding view and was huge; however, the plumbing was wonky with difficulty getting cold water and a shower that wasn’t scalding. One must run the water for a long time to calibrate it — contravening efforts to conserve. Also, the staff had difficulty checking guests out with any level of efficiency, so allow extra time for check-out.

Firstly the staff was amazing, they went above and beyond to help in anyway they could my disabled in-laws who said they felt so special, so a deep thanks from us.
Side note: we had an electric car and would be helpful for an on-site charger (the goverment has a £5k grant available, just thought I would mention it) clearly didn’t impact our stay just worth a mention.

Having decided to extend our trip in the south west and finding our previous hotel had no availability to stay another night, we plumped for The Slaughters Manor House as we fancied heading back into The Cotswolds, which we love and most importantly they had a couple of rooms (suites) still available which was a result given it was the beginning of the Bank Holiday weekend (May).
As we had previously stayed in Upper Slaughter we thought Lower Slaughter had been somewhat neglected so TSMH was the natural choice for such seasoned travellers as ourselves (seasoned = mature :) We were not disappointed.
The Slaughters Manor House is a gorgeous little country house hotel in the most delightful location with a great name! We stayed in Kate on the first floor of the main house which was a wonderfully spacious and comfortable room complete with fireplace and four poster bed. All the staff were very helpful from Anton who manhandled our bags up the stairs to our suite, Paula who checked us in with great efficiency and Sue who makes the most deliciously sour cosmopolitan.
We will definitely return!

Great venue and location. The grounds are well kept and nice to spend time in.
The en-suite was very tired and shower in poor condition. Should of been cleaner.

The hotel impresses by beautiful buildings & lovely grounds. We also appreciated an upgrade due to our recent wedding celebration. Unfortunately, our potentially beautiful room was dirty - stains on the carpet, curtains, & bed throw… cobwebs in almost every corner…. broken glass on the floor in the bathroom. On the 1st day it took 40 mins from sitting down to breakfast to get a cup of coffee… During our stay, the front of the hotel was decorated with dead flowers from a previous month’s wedding...
They are obviously short-staffed and struggling - as are many hotels in this current climate - but when charging £595 a night, we feel we should expect excellent service, not 2* service in a 5* building.
We generally like to give a business the chance to put things right, so we spoke to the manager on the first day. The result was much better service the next day at breakfast (we worried that may have been at a cost to other guests), and the stains were removed from the curtains and carpet. Cobwebs were still present & our radiator remained adorned with dust. Perhaps because we hadn’t literally pointed it out…
As a token, the manager took the cost of one breakfast and £100 off our bill. On a bill of £1130 for two nights, that didn’t do the job.
The hotel need to do a great deal to their service in order to justify their current pricing and sadly, we won’t be returning.

A beautiful hotel set in a beautiful part of the country. The bed may be the most comfortable hotel bed I’ve ever slept in.

Very good hotel in ideal location in the Slaughters. Good rooms and lovely dining room with solid service. Good is pricey but very good and wine list very strong. Book with confidence.

A mixed review. We paid for a suite at a price of over £450 for one night but the room was not like the pictures. There were stains on the curtains the chairs and cobwebs behind the bed. And the hotel was having intermittent power cuts.
We asked to leave and the hotel agreed to refund us. No complaints about the staff or the refund process. They were really friendly. And the hotel and grounds otherwise look great. Wished we could have stayed as we think we would have enjoyed it. But when your paying the same price for a hotel in the rosewood you expect just a little more than what we received. I think that room just needed a little refresh and it would be top notch.

The Lower Slaughters is a beautiful quiet location to stay. The Manor House was very nice, but the restaurant there(only one in town except for pub across the way owned by Manor House) was expensive with limited options.

Lovely location and amazing for walks.
We requested a firm mattress (at 11am when we reached the hotel) and we were told it would be arranged. When we returned at 5pm to check in, they didn’t provide that in the room which is very unfortunate when you are paying a premium price.
The lady in the evening was very helpful and provided a thin mattress to put on the floor which was very helpful. That being said it was an uncomfortable night.
I felt that we were misled.

I understand the current situation but there are a few points I think that do need addressing. We had a dog with us and on arrival no one explained where dogs were allowed until we basically got collared walking back in to the main house by one of the staff.
The main issue I had with our stay is cleanliness. Considering we paid almost £600 for a couple of nights I noticed that the bathroom wasn't that clean with all the grout being horribly discoloured and some of the shower area just looked like it hadn't been wiped over in a while.
There are also no poo bins for dog waste anywhere around the building.
Having said that, the staff were lovely and always polite if a little slow. The quality of food was excellent and reasonably priced. The grounds are stunning and the buildings themselves are incredibly picturesque. All in all we did enjoy it but I can't help but feel the hotel relies a bit on the setting and the building itself to sell rooms.
