I had booked another property, but had to rebook my entire trip after testing positive for Covid and that hotel was not available. This is a very family oriented complex with many different kinds of accommodations. All That was available for me was their apartment, which was fine though I really did not need all of the kitchen facilities. I did appreciate all that space for a change though. The bathroom had soap and towels left over from the last guest. I made the reservation with Hotels.com which requested a deposit for my three nights stay. But they charge me for the full stay ahead of time. And I’m observing that this may be a problem with Gisborne accommodations: my original pre-Covid hotel, charged me for the full stay six months out ahead of time. I wrote that property and requested a refund which they did give me. I definitely suggest guests in Gisborne keep an eye out that the payment and payment arrangements are what they agreed to on Hotels.com

We really enjoyed that the property was intersting and engaging for our son. The heated indoor pool was a favourite. My wife and I like being so close to town and the beach. The room was spacious and comfortable but the cooking facilities were cramped and some basic untensils weren't provided. Overall though we really enjoyed our stay.

Great convenient place, excellent staff and room was clean. Only fault was the shower pressure was terrible. Basically dribbled out the shower head which could do with replacing.

Great site!, staff were super friendly, kids loved the pool & playground. Will definitely be back 😊

Our stay was wonderful. Close to amenities and an all round relaxing atmosphere.

All the hotels were full and this was an acceptable alternative for 2 x travellers on business

Was reasonably priced for being right on the beach and at short notice, late check in was easy and when I booked over the phone the guy was friendly and helpful. The bed was pretty uncomfortable and the duvet had a couple of stains on it which wasn’t ideal but other than that was happy with our stay

The Waikanae Holiday Park is very good as far as holiday parks go, with clean spacious facilities. The park even has a covert heated swimming pool, children's playground and tennis court. My cabin had a bunk bed and table and three chairs, nothing else. I had to use communal shower, toilet and water supply. Considering all this, I must say, the accommodation at the Waikannae Holiday Park was the least value for money stay I have ever had !

Bedding, linen, rooms are cleanly presented. Ablutions showers, toilets, washing facilities are tops. Kitchen and bbq facilities tops. Access by personal fob key best I've experienced. Parking spaces are genetous. Bays could be of wider width. Large indoor swimming pool was under used due to close to beach I guess.

Compact unit with firm double bed and two bedside tables, and two bar stools. Nowhere to put your bag other than the floor, and nowhere to sit other than on the bed itself. No airconditioning unit in the room, but it did have a sliding window
