Everything was to our expectations and more

Lovely apartment and great hosts. Enough space to stay with up to 4 people and every equipement available, including a nice kitchen. Nothing to complain about and the best place to stay if you visit Ieper.

Annick and Piet were exceptional hosts. They were so knowledgeable about the area, and were very helpful and welcoming. The apartment was large and airy, with access to a beautiful garden. The two bedrooms were comfortable, and the bathroom facilities were fantastic. The location was excellent; within very easy walking distance of the Menin Gate and the centre of Ieper. It even comes with a resident cat, so my stay was made! I can't recommend it highly enough.

I can't fault it!

Saillant really is a remarkable property with an amazing history. It is was wonderfully equipped and extremely comfortable, with huge doors onto a beautiful garden terrace. The bedrooms were large, both were en-suite and the beds were super comfy. Thank you Annick and Piet fora wonderful stay.

It exceeded our expectations. It was comfortable and stylish. The garden was lovely, as were the hosts.

The only slight issue for us would be the parking. It was not a problem this time, as we were in our car, but we also tour on our motorbikes, and we would not be happy to leave them in the free parking zone, so far from the house. But as I said it wasn’t a problem this time. And I have already recommended this property to several friends.

I booked a 2-night stay for my husband and stepson for their week long trip to see the WW1 and WW2 battlefields - they confirmed that it was the best place that they stayed during their trip! Parking was no problem and they were able to park outside or near the house each day. The apartment is on the ground floor and is beautiful, with comfortable beds and supplies left which were very helpful. There was a lovely garden available to use as well. Piet was even able to help with research on a member of the family who died during WW1. Overall the apartment was very comfortable in a brilliant location less than 10 minutes walk to restaurants, literally 3 minutes walk to the Menin Gate. Prior to their visit, I had very good communication and I wished I could have stayed there as well. If we ever visit Ypres again we would definitely return.

Nothing - everything was perfect.

We thought Salient was a spectacularly excellent apartment. It was spacious, beautifully furnished, warm and comfortable. The full glass plate windows overlooking the garden were stunning- especially when it snowed. It’s central location meant walking out into Ypres was quick and easy. Piet and Annick were wonderfully helpful hosts when needed but otherwise were unobtrusive. We thoroughly recommend this accommodation and couldn’t have asked for more.

Communication with our hosts, in English via Whatsapp, was friendly, quick and easy. They provided a few fridge staples on arrival (including beer) which is a nice touch. The apartment is big, airy and very well equipped. There are two separate bedroom suites, both with a large walk-in shower and toilet. It has underfloor heating with separate controls for the beds and living areas, which is excellent. The location for Ypres is superb - less than 5 mins walk to the Menin Gate and Market Square.

There is no allocated parking. Street parking immediately outside is free, but needs to be renewed every 3 hours during daytime. We found a nearby space both days. Unrestricted parking is a 5 minute walk so not a particularly big deal. The bedrooms are on the ground floor and the large windows open onto the path outside, so windows open overnight is not really practical if you are a fresh air fiend like me.

The location is perfect for visiting Ieper, very easy walking access to the city from the door. We loved the style of the space and the large kitchen

Everything was perfect, the only extra thing would have been a roasting tin to make our favourite dish but that’s very picky

Friendly host who has a lot of knowledge about the Ieper region. Ground floor apartment is spacious, with a nice open kitchen and direct garden access. The apartment is modern, but respects the historical spirit of Ieper. No doubts: when we come back to Ieper, we would stay here again.
