We stayed at the villa with two families, in total 8 persons, 4 adults and 4 children aged 10 to 14 in April 2016. Had a wonderful time. The villa is fully equipped and has a nice garden and swimming pool. All well maintained. The children had their own appartment and all the rooms have a private bathroom. Also good beds.The villa is a nice hide away and located at a short distance from the sea. A car however is absolutely essential since the villa is located on the top of a hill. For shopping and facilities you need to get down to the nearest village (5 minutes by car). Enjoyed the villa and everything the surroundings have to offer.

We had 11 people staying here for a week and there was plenty of space and rooms for us all. It was great to have heated pool for the children and also there was a sunbed for each person which is very unusual. Lots of space to eat outdoors which is something we all enjoyed doing. The area was very scenic and we enjoyed driving to Sant Antoni Calonge beach. Would defiantly recommend this villa to large familes who are looking to be out of the hustle and bustle

We had a super holiday. The house was clean,well equipped and the garden very nice. Lots of things to do in the surrounding towns. Biking , walking tours, cultural route. Fantastic ! We would definitely recommend it to our friends.

trés belle villa avec tout l'équipement moderne nécessaire et même plus pour un séjour de qualité. plusieurs couples peuvent y vivre ensemble en conservant une certaine intimité. jardin et piscine trés agréables pour farniente, mais aussi plage proche et visite de village tres jolis autour : pals, calella de palafrugell, gerone... et pour les golfeurs plusieurs golfs dans un rayon de 15 à 20 km.

Nice house in a quiet location with large garden and great heated pool. The location is very quiet. Perfect for families with children from age 6 or 7 years (because of stairs). Very friendly, helpful and quick renting company and proprietors. Very kind and nice contact.

Nous sommes partis à 11 jeunes dans cette villa très bien conçue pour les groupes notamment avec des grandes tables pour y manger, un préau au fond du jardin pour les jeux de carte et une piscine. Notre séjour fut fort agréable, l'endroit est calme et il y fait bon vivre. Il faut toutefois une voiture pour aller chercher le pain le matin ou aller à la plage.

Nous sommes enchantés de nos vacances à LA COLMENA. La maison est très agréable, le studio très pratique quand on est nombreux et la piscine magnifique avec ses grands arbres autours qui donnent un peu d'ombre pour la sieste de l'après-midi. Nous avons passé une excellente semaine avec enfants et petits-enfants (visite de Barcelonne, Sagrada Familia à ne pas rater, réservation préalable sur internet, Gérone, et les petites criques de la Costa Brava). Nous reviendrons avec plaisir, le propriétaire est très sympa et le personnel de l'agence également.

Zeer complete villa, 12 bedden, 4 slaapkamers en badkamers, prachtig verwarmd zwembad in fraaie besloten tuin. Kabel tv en een zeer goed werkende WiFi .

Nice clean house with enough space to accomodate two families with lots of kids. Situated in a secluded location but still not too far from the village and beaches, though the roads in the area needs improvement... Quiet and peaceful and the only disruption of the quietness we had was the barking dogs in one of the neighbour properties. The garden is really private with a fantastic heated pool; the kids absolutely loved it (as did I). The weather wasn't quite as good as we expected and hoped for, but the pool made up for that. We´d recommend a visit to the water parks in Platja d'Aro and Lloret de Mar if traveling with kids. And if you're going to Barcelona for shopping, make sure it's not a spanish holiday before you go...:-) The owners were very helpful and great to deal with, as was their agency! I can really recommend them. Thanks for a great stay in Catalunya.

We had a lovely stay at La Comena. It is a beautiful villa in a fantastic setting, very secluded and private. When we arrived, there was a problem with the pool and tv but these matters were addressed by the owner swiftly. The property was as described, clean and well maintained. The pool and garden were clean and tidy, the heated pool allowed us to swim from 8am, well before the heat of the sun arrived.We would recommend this villa to a friend. To obtain this seclusion and privacy the down side is that the villa is quite a way up a hill on a very bumpy road. The satellite TV was very limited for UK users. The villa is perfectly situated for visiting this part of Spain which is a fabulous area to holiday in both inland and on the coast. A car is essential. Areas we particularly liked are, Platja d'Aro, Palamos, Calella Palafrugell, Begur, Pals,Tossa de Mar and all the little old fishing bays the scenery everywhere is stunning. We stayed one week in the villa Colmena in May 2013.(10-17th ) The place was just what we needed to rest and prepare ourselves for the final celebration of wedding in Barcelona at the end of the week. We found everything what we needed in the group of 10 family members between 21-60 years old, coming from different countries here( Germany,Poland,USA ) : a lot of place in the big house and full independence for everybody, beautiful garden and extraordinary tranquillity of the place. We didn't care about strange in this region weather condition and low temperatures this year. The villa was good prepared and is technically good equipped with everything what we needed -functionally almost perfect . It is not a 5 stars hotel but a living dynamic house . It was an excellent base for our escapades to Gerona, Barcelona and many other smaller Cities. It was a great time for us and we would come here surely again!

For our family of 8 persons (2 little ones) the space of the house was excellent. Everything was nice and clean. Comfortable bed and bathrooms. We had the luxury of very nice weather in april (21-23 celcius), so we enjoyed sitting near the swimmingpool. The privacy of the garden is pleasant.

We have just come back from La Colmena and it was fantastic. The house is as described and the swimming pool was fantastic. We thoroughly enjoyed eating around the large table on the balcony and the views from the tower balcony were excellent. Our only issue with the property was that there were 2 single beds in one of the double rooms. The excellent WIFI was also a bonus for film watching on a very wet day. The area is very quiet and it was nice to be away from all the crowds yet be able to access supermarkets, beaches and attractions easily although it is essential to have a car. The owner was also a pleasure to deal with and was very helpful even organsing us a small food basket for when we arrived as the shops were shut. Overall a great holiday and an excellent place to stay.

The viila was a good size for our party of 10, great to all have our own bathrooms. However one bathroom only had a cold water feed and wasn't the cleanest. the rest were all great. Studio was really good, great for a family. Pool and garden was absolutely beautiful, it was well used, lots of shaded areas which was good for those who do not like too much sun. The villa was well equipped and had most things you would need, although some things getting a little tired. A little misleading saying the villa had air conditioning as it is only in one bedroom. Definitely need more fans, there was only one and this was not enough. The surrounding area was beautiful, lots of good restaurants, beaches and plenty to do. Owners were very helpful and good contact. Karen our contact when there was extremely helpful, and sorted out any issues that arose. We all had a great holiday and enjoyed our stay very much.

We have just spent a very relaxing 2 week stay at La Colmena. The gardens and pool were excellent and very private and overall our stay was very comfortable. We particularly appreciated being able to bring our dogs who thoroughly enjoyed themselves! Clara and her team were on hand for any problems we had and always helpful. Our only concern was the unmade road up to the villa which made the car ride quite bumpy, however it did not detract from an otherwise near perfect holiday.

this was a very special place. felt like a home not another holiday let. we all felt very comfortable and although there was steps our 2 year old grandson coped very well. we could not get the children out of the pool. the adults loved the pool too. beautiful gardens. we picked a lemon for our drinks. would recommend this villa to everyone.
