Friendly staff, clean, reasonably comfortable, good location.

What is behind Room 101? The wall directly behind the bathroom door has a rubber bumper installed at door knob wall height to protect the bathroom door handle from damaging the wall when opened. To our surprise the bumper is perfectly aligned with the bathroom door locking mechanism, so when you open the door fully it locks the door, and the next time you close the door (from outside the bathroom), you are locked out. This happened to us at 3am., and we managed to McGyver back in. I wonder if all the bathroom doors at the Best Western have this little "feature". Missed breakfast - too tired from our night misadventures.

The bed was very uncomfortable. The refrigerator in room was very noisy . No fault of the hotel but the tenant above our room on second floor was stomping back and forth until 4am in the morning. Allowing us no sleep for our entire stay.

The breakfast was very good. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The room was as advertised and clean. The hotel is two floors and there is no elevator so if mobility is an issue, ground floor would work best.

There was nothing that we didn’t like. The facility was what we were expecting.

The hotel was clean, reception was friendly and most important the room was nice and quiet and we were there on a Saturday night. So Bonus. The has enough options to get you going for the day and location is close to all local destinations.

Breakfast had plenty of options and was well presented

The people in the adjoining room came in late and were quite noisy. The walls/door between rooms was thin and you could hear every word they said as they were loud talkers.

Other then a couple of smart details, the hotel stay was the best I've ever had personally.

I can't really complain.

Dining area was bright and clean. Didn't think much of the employee sitting on the table in the kitchen with the door open. Food was decent. Room was clean and neat. Being on the ground floor though one can hear anyone who is heavy footed above them.

Need to replace the out of date toilets. Need the high boys. Also need to add grab bars if they insist in keeping the out of date toilets. Tight fit in the corner.

The hot breakfast was very good and had pretty good choices. The waffles were awesome with the strawberry jam!!

Great location close to shops. Close to Rideau Canal base. About 2 km walk to a great restaurant. Room was clean and very comfortable.

It was the exceptional staff that made our stay top notch! Reception was very friendly and accommodating to some special needs we had. The very pleasant lady welcoming us was able to move us from the second floor to the ground floor without any problem as unfortunately, there is not an elevator. Also, the breakfast was very delicious and had something for everyone's taste. Our breakfast host was also very personable and helpful for our special needs. We enjoyed our stay so much that we returned for another night on our way home.

The outdoor pool closed a bit too early! We would've liked it to be open until 9 or 10 PM. Other than that we had no other suggestions. We recommend this Best Western as a great choice to stay if you are near Ottawa or staying in Smiths Falls for all reasons.

We stay here regularly to visit family. Staff is always friendly, hotel always clean, breakfast meets our expectations. Thank you.

Lots of breakfast options Glad to have a dairy free milk option Comfortable room, clean, new looking. No carpet which is nice

Having some fruit like apples or bananas at breakfast would be appreciated. The toilet didn't flush very well.
