room 102 hole in bathroom tile wall switch . patio door lock missing with 1x1 wood door jam which failed to secure door. rotten unpainted exposed wood around patio door. screen wouldn’t open. Ac did not work. owners not friendly and criticized me for using booking.com as they have to pay a commission. moved me to room 101 where front door handle was hard to open . dead bolt did not work but someone had put a chain on which they had painted over part of it as they painted the door white. they kept insisting I do not bring a pet … which I didn’t. a large armchair was put in front of the room on entry .a random spot .

Love this motel. The rooms are cute, comfortable and clean. The rate is low and the value is good. The location is good . The pool is awesome , well maintained, warm and big. They will open it a bit early if you ask them too. Great value

The owner was very hospitable. The premises were clean and included a mIni fridge, microwave and coffee/tea maker. Ample coffee, tea, sugar/sweeteners were available. Parking right in front of unit. The pool and sauna were lovely and self-contained in a separate building, easily accessible through the back patio doors.

Although the pool/sauna is generously open until 11:30 pm, it would be even nicer if it were open at 8 am (instead of 11 am) so guests could enjoy it again before checking out. I can, however, understand the owner's rationale for the hours as-is. The double beds were decent but queen size would be preferred. I like a firm mattress but these ones were extra firm...a little give would have been more comfortable for me.

Had to walk through long grass without a pathway to get to the pool and that would still mean that the patio door would have to remain unlocked while using the pool. The other option would be to lock th room up and walk all the way around. Very inconvenient. Premises were advertised as 4.5. Disappointed as it was very dated and in our opinion did not constitute a 4.5 rating. Also no outdoor lighting making it difficult to see where you are walking. As well the sign was not lit up at night. There were 3 locks on the door however the door was still weak. Being that the door to the room leads to outside, updated doors and locks would would make the client feel more secure.

Big, bright room with direct access to both front and back. Nice patio at the back!

No restaurant on site for breakfast.

The room was attractive. Group of 7 pictures on the walls. Everything was clean. Everything was white. The towels were like brand new, the pillows were firm, the sheets and pillow cases were crisp and white. The bed was really well made and tucked in which is perfect for my restless legs. The expectations card on the desk emphasized that quiet and respect for other lodgers was important. Wifi was strong. Once the Ministry releases the swimming pool it will be above expectations. Very well located close to lots of restaurants. I rested very well and am ready for today.

Hoped the Ministry would approve use of the pool but that had nothing to do with Ambassador Motel.

good, clean, reasonably priced and great location for my trip planning

The room was very clean and comfy. I was surprised by the low price and would recommend this motel to anyone. I didn't check out the pool but it's great to have an indoor pool available.

The curtains could have been more like blackout curtains but no big deal.

It was the perfect place to stay as we started our road trip on the Canadian side of Lake Superior this summer. There were four of us and we had two Queen rooms. I’m very fussy about cleanliness in normal times but am especially fussy during this pandemic. My daughter and I Lysoled everything but the room and bathroom seemed clean and the linens smelled fresh. We were able to hook up my Apple TV and watch what we wanted in evening. Motel is right on Trans Canada and all we had to do at dinner was to make a quick trip down to the waterfront for several good restaurants. The next morning we were able to get on our way without having to drive through the city. The Ambassador was a great place to stay and I would recommend it. Two thumbs up.
