The hotel was clean, cozy, had a warm vibe and was close to transportation, food, etc.

Easy to check in to, great location, beautiful rooms.

The Lobby is always welcoming. Decorated for every occasion. I appreciate dedicated parking for my own vehicle. Room was ready an hour earlier than check in which helped with anniversary plans.
Staff did not acknowledge occasion. No water bottles provided in room. All vending machines did not work, had to go out of hotel to a store 3 blocks away. Construction started way too early on a Saturday morning.

My bathroom had beard hairs all over the sink and countertop. The toilet seat was quite old and dingey. For the money I spent, I expected it to be cleaner.

There were small sets of stairs in the lobby that made it difficult to get bags in and out of the hotel. If there was a ramp anywhere no one told us about it.

Quiet place, some small shops, butcher, backer, French pastry shop, easy to find things to eat around...

The Carleton was close to the CTA and Metra, located downtown Oak Park, free parking, just an old fashioned, go back in time hotel that we stayed at to train into the city.
The beds were a small double, not quite a full double.

Good location, nice neighbourhood, right next to a train station with a less than half hour connection to the center. Very friendly staff.
Wifi is slow, not usable for online meetings. The interior is getting a bit old.

Noise of elevator next to our room and could hear people talking in hallway and pricey for the stay. No senior discounts on room either.

I came to check in and no one was working the desk. There were people partying in the lobby who said, “she will be back..” I went to the restaurant to try to get help, that staff was kind. I waited 15 minutes or so and she finally came back. I came back to my car shortly after and she joined her friends partying in the lobby. It was so loud in the hallway I couldn’t sleep. Not a good stay.
