The location was great. Very clean.

I mostly dealt with the overnight staff. The person working was just shy of rude and not very helpful. The night we checked in she just asked me for my name (didn’t even check my ID) and gave me keys and a breakfast voucher - didn’t explain breakfast hours, location, etc. Our AC wall thermostat wasn’t working. I called the front desk to ask if there was a trick or something that might cause the thermostat to not work when the unit clearly did. She (the same person who checked me in the night before) wasn’t very helpful and said ‘I guess I could try to find you another room’. It took 3 minutes for my husband to figure out it needed batteries He took it downstairs and the SAME staff member gave him 2 batteries for the thermostat promptly. I don’t think she likes her job very much and the whole thing was just off putting.

Staff didn’t even look up as we walked in/out. Missing lightbulbs and outlets between beds didn’t work

The photos make this hotel look a lot better than it actually is. The room especially the bathroom did not seem thoroughly cleaned.

My room was hot. I complained and recieved a fan. The breakfast was not free. They gave me breakfast coupons for two adults but none for the kids.

Super-friendly staff, easy check-in, comfy bed and room, and also very accessible. I'd definitely stay here again next time I'm in San Marcos!
