Like the location, the staff, the breakfast, the suite setup.
There were several roaches and another bug we killed during our stay. The pool was listed as an amenity and part of why we brought our family here but this is still listed as available for this property.

The swimming pool was not super clean and dried cooked food left in the grill was not cleaned up behind people, trash was around the cook out area and around the pool area. You could tell these areas are not inspected or cleaned up behind other visitors.

This La Quinta is sub par. The quality of this facility definitely does meet the standards of the La Quinta I've stayed at. This to me felt more like a Econo Lodge. My room and the hall ways smelled like mildew. The elevator chrome walls were filthy. We were gone from the room from 8:30am-9:00am until 4:30 or 5pm in the evening the room wasn't refreshed. Then I called the front and they finally anwered he stated we would need to come down to the lobby and hang out while the refreshed the room. At that point we were hot and tired so I asked could the just bring some trash bags he said yes never showed up with the trash bags. I sent my grandson down the front desk male gave him a large black lawn bag. The shower curtain was dirty. When called down to the front desk the stuff was never there. Needless to say I was very disappointed with my experience and I never stay there again

Hotel called at 10 pm night before our arrival. Advised us our reservation had been cancelled by them. Acknowledged not whole hotel shut down just certain rooms due a "plumbing issue". Would not commit to another room. Did not offer to rebook at another local hotel Manager would not give an explanatory call back.
Honor the commitment.

Good location between Rhodes Funeral Home and St Boniface Catholic Church in Hobson. The property was clean and staff friendly and helpful.
The bed was extremely hard. Felt like we sleeping on the floor. Went down around 9 am for coffee and there was none. Couldn't make it in the room as there were only coffee packets no sugar or cream. For a Laquinta, the room was small.

The location was good for us. Room was OK. Staff was almost non existent. Slow check in etc.

We got charged a cancellation fee. We will never go back and strongly suggest no one go here either. I tried calling cooperate with no help either. They stated I had to call the hotel we booked from. So much mourning and we have to deal with this.

The rooms were clean. It was nice having a refrigerator in the room. The location was perfect for our needs.
I could not get anyone to answer the phone to negotiate a better rate for a funeral. I got a fast busy for hours. I never heard the phone ring throughout our whole stay. I requested a handicap room with a walk-in shower for my 88 year old mother - we were given a room with a tub and bars. I had to lay a towel in the tub it was so slippery - it really needs a rubber mat. When we asked for soap, we were told the truck was late and they didn't have any. Breakfast started at 4:00 AM! When we got up at 6:00 - it was all picked over and cold. They did not replenish it at all. The front desk staff just stood around talking. Fortunately, I will never need to go to Karnes City again and I won't have to stay at this hotel again.

That the hostess cook us breakfast after we arrived to eat at 8am and all was finished.
