Great spot! Location is perfect for the price, lots of diners and shops on the same road and in short walking distance. Beach is also just a couple blocks away! Staff are awesome, and they have lots of beach gear you can use for free including free bike rentals.

The Sea View Inn was down market. More like a motel. Very old . Scary to see the gap in the door to outside, only a key separating the world outside.

The location of the Sea View Inn can't be beat. Plenty of food and some shopping options nearby, very walkable, attentive staff. We did not take advantage of housekeeping during our stay but when we needed more accoutrements for coffee the response was swift. I was concerned about the firmness of the bed at first but it was very comfortable and provided a restful nights sleep. The pool was heated, which we didn't know about upon checking in (my boyfriend got brave one evening when we were headed back to the room). The coffee they provided was really good, although the small coffee maker only made one cup at a time - it did the job. Our morning routine consisted of having coffee on our balcony, walking down for more coffee, then heading down to the beach to watch the surfers. We are east-coasters so we were up very early every morning. I saved the best for last - do yourself a favor and book the ocean view room. We had unobstructed views from Malibu to Palos Verdes, including Catalina Island. There is nothing like waking up to views of the Pacific Ocean and the mountains! We look forward to staying again when we visit family in the area.

I'm a details person, which can be a blessing and a curse. I think the Sea View Inn could benefit from some basic repairs/deferred maintenance. It is a smidge outdated but I suspect they have no problem fully booking up during season in spite of this. Small details: of the 4 bulbs in our bathroom above the mirrror, only one worked. The blinds on the sliding glass doors were pretty busted up (probably due to wear and being made of plastic). We found a few bobby pins on the floor which made us think that perhaps the room had not been vacuumed. Lastly, it would have been nice to know that the pool was heated so we could take advantage of that, but maybe they didn't want us to. Nothing earth-shattering and we did not tell anyone at the property because this was a short trip and we just didn't have the time. None of this impacted our stay negatively either so it didn't really made sense to make a big deal out of it.

Requested a room upstairs. Instead got a room on the street with absolutely no view. This has happened the last 3 times, so time to look for a different place next time. Staff apologized and suggested I call directly for the room.. Room was amazingly tiny. Unbelievable coffee arrangement: Styrofoam cup, Cheep coffee maker to warm the water into the cup. And only instant coffee. All this for around $250/nt!

The view from the deck is amazing and the person who checked us in was helpful and nice. There is a parking lot where you can park your car.

The beds were both very uncomfortable and squeaky. There was one AC unit in the apartment, but not in the main bedroom. As this apartment is adjacent to the street, it was very loud and we couldn't close the windows as it was too hot. The area in front of the apartment is under construction and you have to either walk through the sand to get to it or go out of your way to get to the door. This unit is very expensive for what it is; a very old building. It needs a little more than paint and cute throw pillows. Plus, paying an extra $20 for parking wasn't great.

We loved this place! ❤️ The location is awesome, so close to the beach! We had to switch to a lower level room after I over did it at the beach, and it was no problem! The staff was super friendly and helpful, they really made our trip so much more enjoyable. The best thing though, is that the beds are comfortable. I was able wake up refreshed each morning after playing hard each day. It really makes all the difference. I highly recommend, our family will be coming back.
