The resort is beautifully situated on the gulf side with direct access to the sea.The hotel is generally well maintained and various efforts are made to keep guests entertained. Both, beach and pool area are great and unique. The staff is friendly and helpful.

We did not get the room that we booked via Booking.com. After complaining we were given another room, but it still didn't match our booking. I believe that this type of room does not exist in this resort. The hotel also was not aware that breakfast was included in the booking, which made it necessary to complain again. I find it strange that an extensive breakfast buffet does not include a latte or espresso. Either way, you have to sign a bill each day and are also expected to tip the full value of breakfast. This is kind a strange practice for me... What also bothers me is that the hotel keeps amounts blocked on the credit card, long after you have checked out and paid the final amount. This is bad practice.

This was a once in a lifetime stay for us. We loved the pool and beach area. It was exactly as it was pictured in the advertisement. The room was clean and comfortable. Most of the staff members were very kind and helpful.

The pool and beach superseded any inconveniences we encountered.

Very beautifully designed. Extremely clean and staff is extremely friendly who provided extraordinary service. The housekeeping team to the front desk and in between fantastic!! The waiting staff at La Marea so sweet and professional. My massage therapist Rocky was phenomenal and very sweet! We will recommend this lovely resort to everyone. The resort is close to everything excellent location!

The food room service menu should be expanded more. La Marea needs some more gourmet meals like their delicious ribeye and mushroom risotto.

The water cabana was fabulous. The 2 waiting on us there, Colby and Camilo were excellent. Pool and ocean great.

The food at Sol by the Sea better on prior visits. the menu changes were a step down on the items we ordered and missing prior favorites. sushi experience at lobby bar/restaurant was sub-par (sushi rice awful). much better on prior visits. we were "forced" to eat elsewhere a couple of dinners when our favorite was always Sol by the Sea.

Beautiful beach, wonderful sunsets!

A bit dated, expensive!

Pool looks good but can be a bit crowded, and iguanas overhead on pergolas doing their droppings down the supporting posts and into pool! Beach can get crowded as it is a sliver of beach depending on tides but nice steps down and water clear. Stunning sunsets viewed from the beach!

There were weddings which created noise depending on whether under your room outdoors or indoors where quieter. The car park tends to fill up so hunting a parking space can be a feat. Staff at reception fluctuate in attitude and there were many excuses for things going wrong rather than apologies and "so sorry, we will attend to this immediately". Had to attend daughter's wedding rehearsal nearby (with a change of level of room to a suite due to booking difficulties with the hotel's own website, so needed to do 2 bookings joined up using booking.com) but initial room vacated at 11am and new suite not available even just after 3pm when we had to leave for the rehearsal venue without a shower or change of clothes as all packed and waiting for room move - only repeated excuses made to us. Even then, had to request our luggage in the evening which was not placed in the new suite in spite of promises made. All guests from my wedding group mentioned broken fixtures - lamps, bathroom fittings etc. in their rooms. Some breakfast staff were amazing waiters and so welcoming and others just going through the motions. Fluctuating levels of housekeeping with efficiency and room amenities replacement hit and miss, even for the suites. 5 star prices and 3/4 star service

The resort was paradise from the moment we pulled up. The staff is very friendly and made us feel like friends when we left. Attention to detail shows throughout the resort from the clean room to the amenities. The pool and restaurants were top notch, every meal we had was great especially Sol by the sea.

the staff was very underwhelming and even though you pay a huge resort fee it feels like they nickel and dime you for everything. way too overpriced for what you get

Parking fees, expresso not complementary at breakfast

we loved the pool and beach. It was very nice to lay on hammocks on beach.

pool bar staff was just ok. There was a lot of hanging around with other resort staff while people were waiting for drinks and the drinks were not great.

Our resort view room was actually a view of the roof for a walkway.

The pool was heated so the water was very nice even though it was a little fresh in the late afternoon, the jacuzzi was hot as should be, the bar at the pool is good, the beach area and it's sun beds, atmosphere of the hotel, nice spadeful room, bathroom and good shower, very clean, good breakfast. the pool is open 24hrs so it's we could enjoy the jacuzzi at night.

They were cutting the grass from our balcony 8:30 am! The lady in the reception was not in her best mood, felt like when I was at the DMV where you even get scared the way they talk to you! Also she was questioning my service dog. Restaurant menus a little poor if you don't like sea food and if you have food allergies or if you are vegan, very poor menu for vegans. my vegan friend had a hard time and she is not even very fussy. The parking was very expensive 20$ per night for self parking is a rip off!

The restaurant service and food at Sol was the only thing that let it down. the breakfast buffet was wonderful and everything else about the resort was exceptional.
