We were in route to buy a piece of farming equipment. We were towing a 23 foot dovetail trailer. When we left to get the equipment, the trailer came off the hitch. Apparently someone had tried to steal the trailer after we got to the hotel. The trailer ball was still in the tongue. They took the nut off the trailer ball. My husband didn't realize at the time what had happened. But he recalled getting up about 230 or 3 am (very early bird) and going down into the lobby. A clerk was seated all the way in the back against the wall looking out the window towards where we were parked. He walked around, looked at the exercise room and when he came out, she was on her phone. He went out to the truck, locked up, and played on his phone waiting for me to wake up. He had noticed when he went out, a black vehicle was backed up inches away from the back of the trailer which would have blocked anybody from seeing the back of the truck. He also saw a pickup truck driving across a parking lot next door with all its lights turned off. Our truck and trailer were parked all the way up in the corner in a "V" shape. Not only was the tongue of the trailer locked but the chains on the trailer were padlocked to the truck with shankless locks. That probably made a quick steal impossible if they didnt have anything that would cut through chains. I don't want to say the clerk was part of what happened but it was a strange coincidence. Our truck had minor damaged but the winch on the trailer was badly damaged and the wheels on the trailer had locked up. The seller of the farm equipment came and gave us a hand. He told us that trailers were a prime target of thief. He said it would have had a car slapped on it and been in Mexico by morning.

They put us on the 3rd floor. The bathroom knob was broken, water wasn’t hot and a penis was taped on Sam Houston’s picture in the room.

Dirty room. No ironing board, no hair dryer, bathroom floor was dirty. We were sent to a room already occupied. That was uncomfortable to open a door of an occupied room. And over priced. We decided to spend more money on a nice hotel and it turned out to be the worse room of our trip.
