We had a wonderful three weeks in Villa Garbe. The villa had everything we needed including poolside lounges and comfort bean bags. The pool was great for the children. The large outdoor table and substantial BBQ meant we could enjoy alfresco dining or do a short walk to porches for an evening meal. Baltazar, our host, was really helpful and responded quickly to queries. A fabulous holiday for friends and family.

We are 2 families who holiday together every year. Villa Garbe was perfect for the age range of kids/young adults from 11-18 as well as us adults. The pool was the highlight, just beautiful and kept the kids and adults alike amused for hours. The villa was clean and functional and it was lovely that everyone’s bedroom had its own patio doors onto the garden. Close enough to walk to Porches, the nearest town and a short cab ride to the beach so great location. Can’t recommend it highly enough. Thank you to the owner for his prompt communication too with any queries.

We had a fantastic holiday here and would recommend 100%! It was honestly all perfect. The house is super clean and even nicer than the pictures. It has everything you could need for a perfect stay! The pool is beautiful and very well maintained, while we were there Mr Eduardo came twice to make sure everything was clean and ok. We stayed there 2 weeks with our parents and our 2 children (2year old and 3 month old) and Baltazar the owner even got a new cot for our baby which was perfect. Baltazar is super attentive and nice! We look forward to coming back!

Our family of six (two adults and four children) thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location of the villa was a short drive away from all of the amenities which is what we were looking for. The villa was lovely and we were very pleased with it, and it was exactly as advertised. Two builds; The sofas in the lounge weren’t very comfortable for an evening of relaxing, they really could do with replacing for something more substantial. The other build would be to have a visitors book, we find local recommendations second to none. The owners had kindly provided many great books on the locations and best beaches etc, but there is nothing like recommendations from people who’ve stayed. All in all a fantastic holiday!

La villa est idéalement placée à proximité des plages et des magnifiques criques de l'Algarve. Cette villa dispose de tous les éléments de confort nécessaires à un séjour parfait. Elle est située dans un havre de paix. La piscine est parfaitement entretenue. Un grand merci également à Baltazar pour sa disponibilité et sa gentillesse. We had a very enjoyable and relaxing 2 weeks at Villa Garbe. The house is very well designed for either a couple like us or for larger groups. The living and sleeping accommodation are in separate wings and everything is well maintained with everything one would need. Garbe is in a very peaceful location overlooking Vale do Olival, a protected natural area, and yet is only a 10 minute walk into Porches or a 5 minute drive to the coast. The grounds are beautiful with a lovely pool and are not overlooked, all of which adds to the feeling of privacy. Balthazar, the owner, was most genial and answered our questions promptly and in a friendly way. We would highly recommend this villa, the area around Porches and the service from Balthazar.

Het huis is comfortabel en erg mooi ingericht. Voldoende ruimte voor 2 gezinnen met kinderen. Zowel de woning, de tuin als het zwembad zijn erg netjes en goed onderhouden. De eigenaar evenals de verantwoordelijke dame ter plekke zijn attent en makkelijk bereikbaar voor vragen of kleine probleempjes. Het zicht vanop het terras en vanuit het zwembad is spectaculair. De woning is makkelijk bereikbaar en goed gesitueerd voor diverse uitstappen of strandbezoek. Deze woning is zeker een aanrader!

Villa was great for two families sharing. Spent lots of time in the pool which was a good size for 8 people. Owner was very helpful. Would highly recommend.

As soon as we got to our villa, we were met by a local lady who gave us the keys and a quick tour, even though we didn't arrive until 11pm. This was really appreciated. As soon as she let us through the front door, we knew we were in for an amazing week ahead. The villa was bigger than we expected. It had everything we needed to enjoy our stay and the location was amazing, really quiet with some lovely views. The owner himself was always reachable, before and during our holiday, and always responded quickly to questions or queries. When something was accidentally broken (nothing urgent), a replacement arrived the next day. He was such a lovely man and did everything he could to make sure we had a lovely holiday. This is the first time I have used a service like HomeAway to book a villa (previously booked directly through someone we knew), and this man has given me the confidence to book again. He was so nice.Portugal itself is a gorgeous country and the locals were very welcoming. There are so many beaches within a 20min drive, probably something like 20, some as close as 5mins away. Highly recommend doing the cave tour by boat down at Benagil Beach, was a highlight for us.I cannot recommend this villa highly enough. Everything about it was amazing. The bedrooms were all a great size, plenty of bathrooms etc, the front room was large with double sliding doors opening out on to the patio and down to the pool which was excellent and the kids spent hours in. The owner was excellent and couldn't have been more helpful. The location was quiet but only 5mins drive to Armacao de Pera and about 20mins to Albufeira. A handful of supermarkets are within 5-10mins drive or so and a couple of waterparks also only 10mins drive away. We will have to visit Portugal again one day due to the country having so much to offer and a week just wasn't enough. And if we do, we would not hesitate in staying in this villa again. Just amazing....

We had a lovely stay at this villa near Porches.The villa is a modern style house, well built and maintained, and was very clean when we arrived.There was enough room for us (4 adults, three kids), it can easily accommodate 8 persons.The pool is amazing, with a very nice view (even a little sea view).There is enough shade outside at the terrace.Inside there is airconditioning in the living room, but not in the bedrooms. With the instructions of the owner to keep the blinds of the bedrooms closed during the day, and with the fans moving air in the evening, temperatures in the bedroom were very managable. Cleaning and new bed linen and towels were provided after 1 week, the pool was also weekly maintained.The owner is very kind and very quickly responding at emailed questions. Communication about the renting arrangement was very straightforward.

As before

This was our first self-catering, non-package holiday so a little apprehensive on what to expect. On pulling up to the villa and walking inside we were more than happy with our choice! Couldn’t have asked for anymore in regards to the cleanliness and layout of this modern well looked after villa. We stayed as two families, with 5 children of various ages and it was ideal for all. It’s single floorplan layout allowed easy viewing at all times of the little ones despite the large footprint of the Villa and grounds. It’s secure and well maintained inside and out, with a large infinity pool which is cleaned and checked every few days. Inside is a well laid out kitchen area with more than enough cutlery and utensils to make cooking in for the night easy enough. The lounge / dining area is spacious with A/C which is a very good unit, quick to cool the room even on the hottest of days. All four bedrooms were clean and spacious with ensuite and main bathroom designed to a high modern spec. It took a couple of nights to get used to having fans and not AC in the bedrooms but keeping the roller shutter in the room down in the day helped. After a couple of nights we were more than fine with this and wouldn’t see this as an issue to anyone concerned. We managed the 2-weeks without any hire car! It’s about a 20 mins walk turning left out of the villa into Porches town centre which is a very straight forward walk and flat! Or turn right and about 30 mins into the next village although a few more hills to tackle! Towards the end of the holiday we found an English mini bus driver who was reliable and would pick up direct from the villa at short notice (we got his contact details from the landlady at Black Dog English pub in Armacao de Perra). We tried out the horse riding which is 5 mins walk as you turn right out of the front gates of the villa, really good and helpful staff and reasonably priced. Also the Splash Land water park which is about a 15 min drive was a great full day out. There are two water parks within a 20 min drive of the villa, the other looked slightly more geared to the older kids with bigger rides. We are now looking for next year but struggling to find a better villa for the price and location. Although normally we would be opposed to going back to the same place twice, it’s looking likely we will be back here again next year which is testament to how highly we rated it!

Our family of nine (five adults, four children) had a fabulous time at this beautiful, modern villa. The setting in the valley and views are fantastic, not overlooked and very peaceful. The pool, which we all spent a lot of time in, is clean and large. We have been on a number of villa holidays and this pool is the cleanest we have ever had. The villa is extremely spacious inside and out and had everything we needed. This is an excellent place to either spend the majority of your time in, or a base to explore the many local beaches and towns as we did. A car is essential, the local supermarket is only a few minutes car journey and has everything you will need, Amarcao de Pera beach is a few minutes further along and you can get to places like Carveiro is less than 15. The owner is very proactive, helpful and responds to any requests promptly. He has real pride in what is a family villa as well as one he rents out. Overall, a fantastic villa, well recommended.

Absolutely loved this place, ticks all the boxes. Great layout of bedrooms and very easy to see the kids at all times. So clean and tidy. Would definitely recommend staying here and we would like to return!

Superb from the moment you enter through the gates. The design of the villa is modern, well maintained, immaculately clean and well equipped. The owner is very helpful and was quick to rectify and in fact replace a faulty dishwasher. It is suitable for a group of Adults or families with older children. I could not really fault this villa and can't wait to return in future years.

Absolutely immaculate and stunningly located desirable residence in a beautiful secluded location with amazing views. Pool and garden not over looked at all for those seeking complete privacy and relaxation. Multiple beaches, cliff top limestone walks and fantastically priced premium restaurants are a short bike ride away. Pool water had no bugs in at all as filters working perfectly - indeed hardly any bugs at all for those who don't like creepie crawlies on holiday. What more can I say. Thoroughly impressed...
