It was super cozy. Loved that it had a restaurant attached to be able to go to dinner. Food was delicious. Really enjoyed the complimentary breakfast. The suite we stayed in was really nice and enjoyed the bath. The restoration of the building into this inn was really cool. The heating was great with the wood stove in the room where you could control your own temperature. Great location for going hiking in the summer or skiing in the winter.

The walls are very thin and we were right by the bar and it was very loud hearing the patrons partaking at that. The front door when opened would shake our room so the early morning comings and goings would wake us up.

Breakfast and dinner were fantastic. Staff was friendly, accommodating, responsive.

as soon as we arrived, the bed broke - we only sat on it! there was no other room vacant so we had to hope they could fix it.

Absolutely fabulous!! gorgeous historic inn, with cozy decor and warm, welcoming owners. we stayed during Christmas and the atmosphere was amazing. Each room has a fireplace and is beautifully decorated with thoughtful accents. The beds are comfortable and the rooms spacious. We travel globally and this was the best breakfast yet! Food was prepared fresh with local ingredients. Highly recommend staying here!

Very picturesque views. The Inn is lovely and the staff and owners are very friendly.

The only downfall, it's an old building and the rooms at the Inn are close to each other, so you do hear your neighbors. This certainly would not stop me from staying here again though.

it’s like to stay at home

I liked most of the staff. There was one person, quite an important person that wasn’t too friendly or that interested or helpful. She seemed very distracted and not wanting to help me or take care of my needs. The rest of the staff that we had the rest of the time were AMAZING! They were like the ones mentioned in the book I read about Steve Allen. They were a credit to the INN! ALL of the Breakfast staff were WONDERFUL, FUN, FRIENDLY, CARING! Love the Doors/Headboard, and the huge soaking tub. Loved the yummy Breakfast and options for vegetarians. Loved the hot drinks we could help ourselves to in the Library.

It was weird to us that the floor sloped in the room and that the bed covering didn’t even match the bed skirt or other colors in the room. Might want to change that. It isn’t the one I saw in the online pictures. I am an artist (and I LOVE purple)but it was hard to look at it in combination with the other colors in the bed skirt and the picture on the wall, it just didn’t seem to go together. I was told that the outside Inn Door isn’t locked at night. I have never been to one that wasn’t and I have to be honest, it felt a bit scarey to me that anyone could just walk right in…

Our stay was short but sweet because we were in town for a wedding. Everything was extremely clean (room, sheets, towels) and comfortable (great bed). The Inn has all the charm of a historic property with modern amenities. Everyone was so friendly throughout our stay. Don’t “sleep” on breakfast! I can’t wait to come back.

Super comfortable and clean rooms, great homely setup (the bar and lounge are cosy after a day in the mountains), the food is exceptional, the hosts are very welcoming and a lot of fun! Also impossibly good value for what it is.

Everything was good.

The inn is a perfect combo of old and new, with lovely luxurious amenities (sheets & towels, toiletries -- my faves!) to boot. This is a perfect basecamp for hiking in the Whites. We look forward to returning.

In the middle of our one night stay, we tried to turn on the a/c and couldn't figure out how to do it. On a multi night stay, we would have solved this in the morning.

Fantastic! From the owners, staff, and the food we had an excellent stay. The Flume and tram nearby are very good excursions. Also the drive to the top of Mr Washington is definitely worth the trip. Can’t go wrong here, double thumbs up to the owners!!
