We liked it enough to go back after our cruise to the fjords

On our second stay it was a bit of a track from the lift to the room, but not a real issue

Alles im Hotel war sehr gut, aber nichts exzellent. Am meisten vermisst haben wir eine richtige Lobby, ob mit oder ohne Bar. Das Frühstück war sehr gut und ausreichend, aber auch nicht außergewöhnlich.Das Zimmer war völlig in Ordnung, aber auch hier keine Specials.

Siehe was uns gefallen hat. Das Hotel sieht auf den Bildern aus wie eine altes, ehrwürdiges Hotel - ist aber innen modern und "beliebig"

We enjoyed our stay.

Location was great and the hotel was situated directly across from a beautiful park. Hotel's exterior & interior is stunning and spotless. My original room provided was down a long hallway and up a small flight of stairs. I was traveling for 3 weeks and so my suitcase was somewhat heavy. I immediately went to the front desk and asked if my room might be changed to one closer to the elevator. The 2 gentlemen at reception could not have been more accommodating and gracious. One even insisted on accompanying me in moving to the new room. Loved the room. Fantastic breakfast came with my stay. Huge selection of choices in a lovely and spacious dining area. I walked everywhere. Oslo is an easy city explore on foot. A must visit is Oslo's magnificent Vigelandsparken Sculpture Gardens. The hotel is very convenient to Oslo's Central Train Station - a 10 minute walk. I was heading off to Stockholm on the next leg of my journey.

I was completely satisfied and have already recommended Karl Johan Hotels to friends visiting Norway.

The reception staff were excellent. Nothing was too much trouble. They were knowledgeable and helpful.

There are no phones in the rooms so if you need anything you have to physically go down to reception. The heating system in the room was noisy (decibel level low conversation) and an open window threw it in turmoil. Taking out the keycard solved the problem. Breakfast choices good but breakfast laid out inconveniently. Bread and butter in one place, jams in another and bizarrely honey in another with the cheese. Plates were only in one place and far from the fruit. All this created unnecessary people flow.

Die Lage des Hotels ist sehr gut. In wenigen Gehminuten erreicht man den Bahnhof oder den Hafen. Das Frühstück ist durchschnittlich. Es gibt im Hotel kein Restaurant, dafür 2 Gehminuten neben an ein 5 Stern Hotel mit einem super Restaurant. Sehr empfehlenswert. Gerne wieder.

Das Frühstück war nicht schlecht. Aber der Kaffee sehr durchschnittlich und die meisten Gerichte in der Idee gut, in der Umsetzung nicht gut genug zum Rest des Hotels.

Extrem gute Lange Mitten in der Stadt - absolut sensationelles Frühstück - eine Auswahl über Waffeln, Eierspeisen, Früchten, Lachs.. Sie werden es lieben. :) Dazu ein perfekter Service - ruhiges und gemütliches Zimmer (Zimmernummer 446) mit großzügiger Ablagefläche für uns Frauen im Bad sowie einem cleveren Regal und einer tollen großen Dusche (1A Wasserdruck und Qualität des Wassers - leckere Seife von Rituals). Kaffeemaschine und Kapseln von Nespresso, die immer nachgefüllt wurden - es gab auch guten Tee. Der Safe war leicht zu bedienen und modern. Von 30 Teilnehmern einer Konferenz habe ich als Einzige im Karl Johan gewohnt. Ich habe in der knappen Woche meines Aufenthaltes viele andere Hotels gesehen - das Karl Johan ist geschmackvoll in gedeckten Farben eingerichtet, das Frühstück ist hervorragend und der Service am Gast ist 5 Sterne, so liebes und freundliches Personal. Im Zimmer ist auch ein Bügelbrett und ein Bügeleinsen. Ich war im Februar dort und habe ein Zimmer zum Hinterhof bei Booking gebucht ( Nummer 446 - ganz am Ende des Korridors - lassen Sie sich den zweiten Aufzug im Hotel zeigen - ich habe keine Nebengeräusch aus andern Zimmern gehört - es war 100% leise. Das Bett und die Bettwäsche waren super - die Betten sind in Norwegen wohl vorwiegend mit einem sichtbaren Topper ausgestattet - sieht für Deutsche komisch aus, ist aber bequem. Am Bett konnte man das Licht leicht für das Zimmer kinderleicht bedienen und auch eine verstellbare Nachttische-Leuchte war vorhanden. Steckdosen sind auf beiden Seiten des Bettes angebracht. Der Schreibtisch und der dazugehörige Stuhl im Zimmer waren top und auch der große gelbe Lese-Sessel im Zimmer war sehr angenehm neben dem Bett. Die Fenster ließen sich öffnen und der Vorhang hat komplett verdunkelt. Die Zimmer wurden jeden Tag gereinigt und alles war sehr sauber und gepflegt - es gab keine Kratzer oder Gebrauchsspuren in meinem Zimmer. Ich würde jederzeit wieder in dem Hotel wohnen. :)

Es war alles sehr gut durchdacht. Wenn man unbedingt einen Verbesserungsvorschlag machen müsste, könnte man im Schrank des Zimmers noch weitere Ablagen schaffen. Es gab 5 Bügel und schmale Ablagen. Im Schrank der Kaffeemaschine waren auch noch 3 Ablage- Flächen, die ich genutzt habe, also alles fein.

Perfect breakfast chamber full of light and pleasant colours. Location right in the middle of historic district, makes you feel at the right place. Stunning building itself.

Bit noisy in the middle of the night, but we were prepered that weekend is party time in Oslo, so it did not bother us at all but it is good to know.

Świetna lokalizacja, śniadania bardzo dobre - każdy znajdzie coś dla siebie.

W pokoju było bardzo brudno, wszędzie kurz, brudne podłogi, coś obrzydliwego było przyklejone do ścian, ręczniki niedoprane ! Widok z okna na wewnętrzny budynek - trochę klaustrofobicznie. Recepcja w hotelu połączona jest z barem/kawiarnią to sprawia, że każde małe pytanie wydłuża czas reakcji, bardzo długie kolejki.

Awesome location and walkable to everything. The room was well appointed and enjoyed the bathroom amenities.

The bed was incredibly comfortable! The room was also extremely clean, and the hotel in a perfect location. Our room was in a very quiet part of the hotel which was lovely, and the breakfast was good. Also the gym was great!

No room complimentaries, such as biscuits or bottle of water (there was tea and coffee). Also it asked us when booking if there was any special requests, so we mentioned that it was our honeymoon, but there was no recognition of this!

in the heart of it all there was a parade down the street with the military amazing experience the reception staff so friendly and helpful great breakfast!
