Very good location, everything within 10 min walking distance (beach, bus stop, train station, restaurants, shops, supermarket), great breakfast, very friendly and helpfull staff, squeaky clean facilities. We couldn't have asked for more! I HIGHLY recommend!

Good location. 5 minutes walk from railway station and 10 minutes walk to old town and seafront. Good breakfast, continental or English between 08.00 to 12 noon. English Sky News on TV. Comfortable room, huge bed.

Very small shower,,little turning space. Water to sink very weak and no plug. Very limited wardrobe space for two people not practical for a stay of more than two nights. Reception staff. One particular member of staff was unhelpful, and obtuse. Really most unpleasant. However all other staff were very helpful and provided us support when we needed it

a couple of the electrics didn’t work and the awning appeared faulty.

The hotel is dated, but that is its charm. Its clean, its welcoming, and the beds are the biggest ever! Great breakfast included. Location is fantastic. This is not a one star hotel - service, quality and cleanliness is better than many four star hotels! Repeat guest

Great location, great staff, a wide range of food for breakfast, and good price.

A little tired, small room but a huge bed, parking nearby is limited or use one of the underground parking facilities which were roughly €30 per day. (Not the hotel's fault as most hotels around there use them) but it puts a bit of a downer on a good weekend away, when the parking costs nearly as much as the room.

We stayed at the El Cid for 5 nights last week and loved it. For a supposedly 1 star hotel it has everything you need. The position is great, the breakfast offers excellent hot and cold food (served anytime between 8am and noon, which means you don't have to set your alarm!), the staff members are very polite and helpful, and the room we had was absolutely fine. The pool was clean and during our time there we had no issues finding available sunbeds. I believe the room dimensions dictate the 1 star rating (maybe slightly narrow?) but honestly for the money we paid we couldn't fault it. We'd definitely stay there again.

Maybe the road noise from outside? a room overlooking the pool would be ideal but we weren't complaining.

Great location

Stains on pillow case( thought they would change them during my 4 nights stay but nope). Also saw a baby cockroach in breakfast hall and although I know the roaches are a constant problem almost everywhere in Spain, seeing a baby roach during daytime is never a good sign :( Everything else was ok, mainly because I don't mind dated furniture and actually like the retro vibes.

Breakfast was great and staff were very friendly around the hotel. Pool area well maintained and reception was very helpful 👍
