House was exactly as described. Had everything we could possibly need. Kitchen is very large. Very nice that bedrooms can be closed off from main living area. Access to the beach is great and view is fantastic. Weather was poor for us but the house allowed us to take advantage of nice spurts since the beach was right beneath you. Fantastic property

Great Family house!! We loved our stay in this spacious home. The kitchen was huge and equipped with anything you might need, including separate wet bar. Great views of the beach and ocean from the living area as well as the large deck area. We especially loved that the master was separated from the other bedrooms. We stayed with our daughter and son in law and their three kids 6 and under. This house was perfect!

Amazing beach front location. We liked being further down Folly where it was especially quiet. There is a home in front between you and the beach but plenty of ocean views. Well stocked kitchen for cooking. It is a loved beach home with some wear, but clean enough for two families with young children. We would come back!

We had eight “senior “ women at the red house “ Bacon in the Sun”. Except for the stairs on arrival and a little uneven tripping hazard on the porch level we absolutely loved our beach house! We had plenty of room and took advantage of the beautiful ocean views from both outside and inside. The bathrooms had separate “water “ closets so that was helpful for so many.The kitchen is well equipped and has separate prep ( with another sink) at the bar area.
There are plenty of closets and places to store. The dishwasher needs to be replaced at some point but it works. The beds and bedroom were good no one complained. One thing to watch the tile floors in bathrooms are very slippery when wet, be careful😉
The house is a bit dated but that's what gives it that beachy charm. Large open living area with lots of natural light.
The entrance to beach is just down the steps and between the two homes in front. It's only three miles back to “ town “ if you need some supplies. The beach is wide and very level, great for walking or riding bikes.
We're already making plans to go again next year and we would definitely stay in the “red house” again!

My husband and I stayed in this lovely beach cottage for 2 months and truly hated to leave. The home itself reflects the causal beach vibe that makes Folly Beach so special. A fully stocked kitchen, plenty of room and storage, gas top cooking, Jennair griddle, cute beach decor, amazing beach facing deck with shaded and sunny options and beautiful adirondack deck furniture are just a FEW of the great features. This spot provides direct beach access and views of kite-surfers and the beautiful beach. Ocean Rentals was extremely responsive to a few maintenance issues that arose and even responded to non-critical issues after hours. Way above and beyond. We couldn't have picked a more chill and lively spot.

We all loved the location of the house - just steps from the beach and on the end of Folly Beach close to the light house. The outside of the house looks great, but the inside needs some major updates.

Space and proximity to the beach were great! Great outdoor furniture with plenty of comfortable options! Kitchen could use some updates (especially the faucet) and a good overall cleaning and reorganization of the cabinets.

This large bright rustic house is on the beach but has a home in front of it, however there are windows on all sides with great views of the ocean. The master bedroom does not have an adjoining bathroom, but its a few steps away. There is another larger bedroom and room with twins that share a bath on the other side. The beds in the twin room are very uncomfortable, and my kids had to sleep on the couch because of this. The kitchen is large with alot of room for different family members to prep, but water pressure in the sink was extremely low. There is a separate wet bar area, next to large family room, with an electric fire place that says "do not use" on the switch. The family room opens out to covered unscreened deck/porch which has steps leading down to beach. There is a small weber grill under the house and an open outside shower. This house has alot of potential but needs some investment to get to outstanding.

Simply amazing. Well equipped and very comfortable home. Location can't be beat. Host was very pleasant to work with and extremely accommodating. We were aware of home in front of house however we were very pleased and surprised how much more oceanfront view we had.
We'll definitely go back. Highly recommended.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bacon in the Sun! We have young children and everything was perfect about this house: access to the beach, the supplies and amenities in the house, the cleanliness, the spacious living areas, and the large kitchen! It was the perfect Beachy House and a great getaway. The beach was quiet and not crowded. We easily walked to the end of the island with the lighthouse. We found shells galore. We would definitely choose this rental again in the future.

The house itself was as shown in the photos and it was basically beach front with just one house between it and the beach but about as close as you could get to the ocean. Only issue was when we checked in the cleaning crew had done a poor job and the management team told us they would come back that day but never did. They also left the trashcan totally full under the house and no one ever came to take that out until 3 days later. We also called about wasps but no one ever came. The house was good but the cleaning crew was not. Only comment on the house is that if you have elderly or handicapped people the showers are hard to get in and out of because they are both tub showers. For younger people this would not be an issue. One big positive is the location is great because it is at the end of the beach so not as crowded and tight as the place located near the main section.

We loved the house, which was steps to the peaceful end of Folly. We had several large family dinners which the kitchen/dining area easily accommodated. The bedrooms were all good sized and freshly decorated. We will be back!

Our stay at Folly Beach was amazing. The weather was a little cool due to hurricane Ian. The beach was very private and very dog friendly. Took my 11 year old black lab for her first beach experience. She loved it!! We would definitely stay here again.

This was a spacious and comfortable house for a family get together. The house was clean and comfortable and nice proximity to the beach. We really loved the oversized kitchen. Plenty of room to spread out. We would stay here again.

Could not ask for a better better beach house or location for our 1st family vacation since summer 2019 (pre-Covid). Bacon in the Sun is spacious, open, well-appointed, with fully equipped kitchen. Instructions we're clear, helpful and owners responded promptly to our texts. 5 stars all around.

Nice Property, Management not so much.
My Brother and his family came into town for a visit. We rented this property on Folly Beach. Property was nice, but we received a text the first text stating we exceeded a noise level after Midnight on the 22nd, morning of the 23rd. Only problem was we were in bed at the time. On the 27th, we received 2 text messages stating we had exceeded the noise limit and it was around 6:00PM. My wife and I were the only ones there at the time and were on the back deck watching the storm and the waves. Then we received a phone call. I explained to the woman that it was only my wife and I present at this time and we are watching the waves. She could hear the wind in the phone. Told her this was not the first time we received the text and she told me she receives the alerts of 3 then has to call. Explained it was only my wife and I, she said she was only doing her job. Property needs a new monitoring device if they must use one. The rental right next to us had at least 7 kids and 4 adults that were always loud, but that didn't bother us. What did was the bogus text messages from the Property Management. We will never stay at another VRBO property again. If it wasn't for these texts and the phone call, we would stay at that property every 6 months.

Great place to stay
I will say I was a little nervous about staying that far down on Folly since I was bringing my children with me however it turned out to be the perfect location. Not only was the house super accessible to the beach it was also one of the best stocked houses I’ve stayed in I would definitely stay here again

Great rental for a nice beach week
The layout of the house was perfect for a little kids which is what we needed. Just the right amount of privacy if you’re traveling with a grandparent or if you want a little privacy with a full bathrooms and bedrooms on either side of the kitchen. Laundry is very convenient and the living room space was perfect for us. Proximity to the beach is great. You really can’t get any closer than this! The only downside was the cleanliness of the tubs. The tub in the master bathroom was quite gross and the jacuzzi filters were covered with gunk. Nobody was planning on taking a bath so it wasn’t a huge deal but definitely needed to be cleaned. The kitchen in bedrooms were quite clean however and the kitchen was fully stocked with any utensil or dish you could think of.

Property needs much attention two repairs. And updates are necessary. Appliances need Replaced. Deck needs replaced, Saul several rats. Bathrooms need totally redone. Not enough towels I waited two days to get towels.

Good but could be better
The location is great. The porch is great to sit and be so close to the ocean and not be considered ocean front. I had concerns about the safety of the porch. One corner of the porch was strapped together. The railing down the back stairs is very loose. Dangerous for children
Older adults. Both shower heads leaked really bad. I would rent this house again if the concerns I mentioned were addressed. I do think it could have been alittle cleaner. It appeared to have just a quick once over. Floors were sticky. A little TLC would do wonders for this house. Overall our family had a great time !

Great small group getaway
We had an amazing week at Bacon in the Sun. The home was so bright and cheery. It was very clean and it's proximity to the beach was a plus. The home is about 3.5 miles from the downtown area of Folly Beach, which depending on what you are looking for could make a difference. The beach was quiet and peaceful and just what we were looking for. Everyone had to do some work and some play and we had no issues with the internet. Kitchen was well stocked. We would definitely return.

College Graduation -Family celebration
Perfect house for our family of 7. Kitchen is large and well stocked, beds are comfortable and liked how light/fan switches are well marked. Wonderful location at the north end of Folly Beach, enjoyed walking to see the lighthouse. Easy beach access and great views from the porch. Easy check-in and out, management staff very helpful.
