Tolles Zimmer mit großem Schreibtisch ideal für Geschäftsreisen.
Das Frühstück war sehr umfangreich und lies selbst für Spezielle Bedürfnisse keine Wünsche offen. Ein Traum war das Gebäck!

Sehr schickes und geschmackvolles Ambiente, nicht nur das Zimmer, auch der neu gestaltete Restaurantbereich und die Bar sind wahre eye-catcher. Die Atmosphäre war super entspannt, alle Mitarbeiter extrem zuvorkommend und lieb. Auch das reichhaltige Frühstück ließ keine Wünsche offen. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!!
Die Betten sind sehr bequem, wenn man brav auf seiner Seite bleibt... rückt man jedoch zusammen, driften die Betten auseinander und die Topper gleiten über die Bettrahmen! Aber das ist zugegebenermaßen die einzige klitzekleine Kritik ;o)

This property was fabulous. It had everything to make my stay perfect…I really mean perfect..It was clean,spacious,great location,quiet..The staff were wonderful and the breakfast was exceptionally good..
There was absolutely nothing to dislike..

no kettle, no attempt to encourage use of public transport - a 'sustainable' hotel should mention that it can be reached without a car (Straubing has a good train service and is on the Danube bike route)

The staff were very helpful when we wanted to hire pushbikes. The breakfast was fabulous. The room was very comfortable.
The shower head was broken and we couldn't stand under it. The soap was empty when we arrived but the staff soon filled it which was great.

I had arrived 2 hrs earlier than checkin time (on bicycle) and the person at reception said no problem, we have your room ready. He then took me down into the garage where the hotel had a special gated room just for bicycles.
The breakfast was just incredible, the best breakfast I have experienced in any hotel in Europe, on par with the Hilton in Dubrovnik where I bike toured to last Fall. The breakfast at the Asam even had French champagne on the buffet. It was incredulous how great this breakfast buffet was...had everything
The hotel was a nice 10-15 min walk to Old Town in Straubing and the Asam reception gave me a nice map to follow.
I highly recommend this hotel.
The only thing I could recommend would be improving the bed pillows which seem to be prevalent throughout every hotel I've stayed so far in France, Switzerland and Germany. Pillows have no support, feel like they are stuffed with cotton or just foam.

Room: At first glance clean and extra welcome detail on the bed. Altough making the mistake to not book the breakfast i did paid upon arrival to add it. It is by FAR the most tasty breakfast i've ate in a hotel. Choices for everyone. Spa or Wellness Section of the hotel was great and so were the massages I booked. It would be foolish to no mention the Staff, they are friendly, polite and go above and beyond to facilitate your stay. They were flexible enough to let me check out later due to my schedule.

Very comfortable and clean room. Lovely bathroom. Superb breakfast and friendly helpful staff all around.
A bit of noise at night from the tv in the next room, but not terrible.

I can highly recommend the Assam Hotel. Excellent staff and facilities!
