We enjoy the space and how close (just a few minutes) we were to Haleiwa. We didn't get to enjoy the beach down the road from the place because of all the activities we had planned. The only negative to our stay is the heat if you are coming during the summer. There is a AC unit in the bedroom but unfortunately this doesn't help in the main room of the place. To keep costs down, they don't want you running the AC unit while you are gone so each night when we returned, the main room was extremely hot. Even with running the AC unit and keeping the bedroom door open, it still felt like a sauna. My recommendations to the owner would be to install a AC unit in the main room. Other than that, our stay was wonderful and quiet. Definitely recommend this place for a single person or a couple.

This was our second time staying with Mike and Sharon and once again our stay was fantastic. The house is as beautiful, comfortable and clean as the pictures show. Mike, Sharon, their kids and even their guests are all very respectful of the privacy of the VRBO unit. We didn't hear the family at all during our stay but when we did contact them they were very responsive and helpful. Besides the accommodations, the location is FANTASTIC! The neighborhood has two close parks, its own beach (just blocks away) and we walked into town multiple times, its that close. We will definitely be back, again!

Wonderful place in Hale’iwa that is a great location to enjoy the North Shore lifestyle. Excellent beach, great vibe. The 1BR 1BA residence has everything you need to enjoy your stay. The hosts are great and responsive.

This property is fantastic. Well located, close to the heart of Haliewa. The neighborhood beach is so close and so peaceful. Micheal and Sharon are fantastic hosts and have worked hard to make their guests feel right at home.

Beautiful property, clean, modern, fully-equipped. Loved the balcony, watching all the local activity. Great location in Haleiwa - Adjacent to a large park, another large park just down the block the other way, fantastic beach a block away (swim, boogie-board, see turtles), a world-class surfing beach just a few minutes walk the other way. We managed without a car - walked into town everyday, took the bus to further places (Honolulu, Dole Plantation, etc.). Our only negative was the noise - although it is located in a nice, neighborly "quiet Haleiwa beach community", it is not a quiet area - The property is adjacent to a fairly busy road, and also to a beach access road with the occasional vehicle with extraordinarily-loud-thumping music going by. But you won't find a better spot to stay in Haleiwa!

Beautifully appointed one-bedroom, first floor apartment with private access via external stairs. First class kitchen facilities. Clothes washer and dryer were great. Adequate bathroom with large shower. Short walk to beach approx 150 m, great for swimming and saw a turtle! Free parking at front gate of property was super. Felt safe in this street. Air con only in bedroom and AC was too noisy leave running, so relied on ceiling fans - very warm inside in late afternoon and early evening. Owner left us alone but easy to contact if needed and provided the information we needed. Really enjoyed our stay.

The unit was super clean and cute. Right across from a magical tree and down the street from an amazing beach that isn’t too crowded. We love the town Haleiwa so many food options from good food trucks to restaurants. Lots of shops too. We found it easy to explore the North Shore. Hosts live downstairs and we’re friendly. I would stay again!

Perfect location, everything you need for a relaxing stay on the island! Located a very short walk to a great beach in a very friendly and quiet neighborhood! Close to the harbor for different tour experiences, and easy access to the rest of the north shore! We would definitely stay again!

Just got back from 2 weeks in HI and this place rocked! I was looking for a different experience after staying in Waikiki for 5 years and chose this beautiful place. It was in a quiet, safe neighborhood, close walk to the beach, quick drive into Old Haleiwa; the lanai was great too. Mike & Sharon were so nice to deal with through PM & in person. Super helpful and even when we had an issue with something in the unit, they were so quick to help! The unit was super clean, and it had everything, I mean everything, you could think of to make your trip a great one from beach items to home items etc. It was a home away from home and I already miss it. Wish I could have stayed even longer. This isn't about the unit, but if you're looking to get around to sight see or drive into Waikiki etc, plan for somewhat long trips in the car (i.e. from the condo to Waikiki it took about 40-hour). I normally drive around a lot when I visit Oahu, but for some reason, I know we spent a lot more time driving in the car to get to destinations on the East & south side (which is fine). Some of the roads were closed or just had some high peak summer tourist traffic since this unit is by some great spots like Dole and Sharks Cove, Laniakea Beach, Waimea Bay etc. Plan ahead with time and you'll be fine. Either way it's the destination not the journey! Anyway, don't think too long about it. If you're looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki or just truly have a relaxing experience, this place is perfect for you. Trust me, you'll love it!

The internet was fine for my numerous zoom calls while working remotely. We would not hesitate to stay with Mike & family again next time we come to Oahu!

Pros: updated, decent location, short walk to the beach, well equipped, allowed us to ship items prior to arrival. Cons: AC is very loud and only cools the bedroom (the main space got quite hot, can’t imagine what it’d be like in summer. Cooking on the stove/oven really heats things up (no grill). It’s one house over from a busy street (lots of road noise), so windows open at night can be noisy (even with ac running), the couch is incredibly dirty and smells (we ended up borrowing sheets from a family member to cover them throughout our stay) and we never once watched TV because of it. The host decided to begin construction directly below the unit the final week of our stay and didn’t notify us until the morning of construction. Due to having an infant we shared that it was an issue - they responded saying they would attempt to work with our schedule but would not stop. We attempted to find another place to stay but we were unable to find anything so last minute. We shared our concern and the host stopped communicating with us entirely and proceeded with construction. After no communication on the construction schedule, on day of checkout he apologized for the ‘little noise’ and offered to refund one day for the inconvenience. When we shared our frustration and how this led us to vacate the property for a significant amount of time to get our baby a quiet place to nap, he did not respond again. After 2 days of non-response from the host, we filed a complaint with VRBO and informed the host. He promptly replied and argued with us and called us dishonest when we shared our experience about how disruptive the construction and lack of communication was for us. Given that the funds had already been disbursed to the host from VRBO, we only received refund for 1 night, despite dealing with 4 days of construction where the host himself acknowledged that he normally would have blocked these dates to keep it unrented had he had more notice. All in all, it’s a cute place for a week stay. Just bring extra sheets for the couch and maybe some ear plugs! Hopefully the construction was just an unfortunate situation we had to deal with and hopefully no one else has to navigate this on their vacation.

We had a wonderful stay in Haleiwa at Mike & Sharon's! The place is within walking distance to Haleiwa town and the local beach. The home itself is so well decorated and very clean. Hope we can return someday!!

Gorgeous and comfortable. Awesome to have beach towels, chairs, and snorkel included. The recommendations they leave to read through are also excellent. If you’re hoping to walk frequently to town might want to look into something else. I also would have loved just one personal hello since they live right there.

Most incredible property with the absolute best location. House is beautiful and super clean, and check in/out process was a effortless. Sharon and Mike are great and we will absolutely be looking for opportunities to come back!

The property was just as described, comfortable bed, great kitchen and living space. Location close walking distance to neighborhood beach, central for traveling around all of the north shore.

Stayed for the month of Feb. 2021. House is as listed. Spotless, everything you need is included. Short walk to the quiet beach. Owners are very nice, and quick to answer any questions.

If I could give this property 6 out of 5 stars, I would! This was a gem in the Northshore, and was exactly as described in the listing and the pictures - if anything, it was better! The location is great: super close to the historic strip of Haleiwa, and also a 2 minute walk to a great neighborhood beach (one of our favorites in all of the Northshore). but the great surf beaches are a 10-15 minute drive away if that's what you're traveling for. Although the apartment is above the homeowners, it is still very private and quiet. We never felt like we had to tiptoe around, or that we were intruding on anyone else's property. The space is bathed with beautiful sunlight throughout the day, and the kitchen is great for cooking. Since we stayed here for a month, we made great use of the dishwasher and laundry/dryer. The bathroom felt clean and newly renovated, even though a charming guestbook shows that this property has been around since 2018. As others have mentioned, there is only an air conditioner in the bedroom but we didn't need it since we were there in January, and there are also two great ceiling fans. We were sad to leave but would highly recommend this property to others: one of the nicest places we have stayed at, and we were sad when we left - it felt like home.
