We had a great trip to Sugar Mountain and this cabin was in great condition and location for us.

I had a good experience, despite the house being old, everything works well, close to tourist attractions, excellent restaurants, markets and you can find many nice things to do. we all enjoyed our experience. The only thing I didn't approve of and didn't like was the cleanliness of the house, which left something to be desired. but it didn't stop us from enjoying our vacation. I recommend

My family and I had a great time staying in sugar mountain at Linseys cabin it was centrally located and close to shopping and attractions. It was quite and serene just what my family and I needed. It was close to Boone, Banner Elk and other areas which was nice and easy to get to. We really enjoyed Grandfather Mountain and driving along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Linsey was a great host, she was very helpful and provided plenty of information pamphlets on activities in and around the area. Would definitely return again.

This was a perfect location for all we wanted to see and do. Will stay again when in that area.

Do not stay at this place EVER! At the beginning the owner was “nice”, she texted and called to check if “everything was ok”, we didn’t say anything about the bad qualities this cabin has because it was our first time staying at a place that is not a hotel. The property is a mites nest, old, terrible dusty curtains, rusty cutlery, damage dryer, old scratches on all the furniture, old and rusty hair dryer, the children's room has a hole in the ceiling that has an unpleasant smell, dust everywhere, it is impossible to sleep there and even more so when you have allergies. BUT THE WORTS PART IS: they will charge you for all the things that are already damaged in the property. We had an issue with an OLD stove burner cover which was paid directly and IMMEDIATELY to the owner, but guess what, They are in complicity with the person that cleans the house who sends old photos of unpublished damages the place already has and will charge you for it! I cannot recommend this place, it’s better to pay a hotel, there are lots of places to stay around the area. BTW, the tv doesn’t work, only Netflix and YouTube ¿?, no channels of weather… we finally ended up sleeping in the living room on an inflatable mattress that we bought yet ended up paying for repairs to the bunk bed we never used. We decided to leave the property a day early because the amount of dust was making it difficult breathe normally.

I could not have asked for a better stay! There was tons of room for us, so close to Sugar Mountain. Full kitchen, beds were very comfortable. House was spotless upon arrival. Beech mountain is just a short drive as well. Lindsay was wonderful to deal with. I highly highly recommend and we will definitely stay here again.

Sweet little rental! We had a great stay!

Quiet and restful, which is what we were hoping for. Tenant down stairs was very helpful.

We spent a month here and found it clean, nicely furnished, and decorated, the pictures give a good representation of the rental. It was well equipped with everything needed to cook large meals. The large porch is comfortable, but there is no view of the mountains or golf course. The sheets were well worn ( we went to town & bought new ones). Trash and garbage must be driven down the street to a dumpster compound, which is not always open. Overall, we had a pleasant stay.

If you are looking for a mountain getaway that is convenient to so many wonderful places, this it. There is a full time tenant that lives down stairs. He is very polite and does not both you at all. The only real good suggestion I have is to make sure you take your trash to the convenient center on Saturday before 6 as they are closed on Sunday. We had to bring our trash home with us.

Great location. Rocky start. No power in the bathrooms for 24 hours until the electrician could arrive. This issue could be remedied if someone checked on the unit closer to guest arrival.

This property was right in the middle of everything we wanted to do. It was also very clean.

My family really enjoyed our stay! We had plenty of room for our family of 6. The location was excellent!

Great stay

We booked this place off of all the wonderful reviews it had and the initial communication with the owners was good. We unfortunately had numerous hiccups while there though - the fridge was not cooling well, the water out of all the sinks was cloudy, we were locked out by the deadbolt (only owners control the deadbolt not the guests) and all of the towels for the place were in the wash when we arrived due to being used for a sink leak. This wouldn’t have been a big issue except when I went to move everything to the dryer I discovered everything had been washed with only fabric softener and apparently a whole role of toilet paper or paper towels which caused a huge mess that had to be cleaned up and completely rewashed. Additionally while the listing says there is a fireplace, when we contacted the owner about how to work it they said they didn’t know and hadn’t ever used this. This was a disappointment as we had intentionally chosen a place with a fireplace. We also learned after we booked the cabin that there was a gentleman who lived below. He was very nice but did leave early in the mornings and the noise he made leaving everyday woke us up. Expectation and privacy wise it would have been nice to know this information prior to booking. The owners were apologetic about our issues and told us they would credit one of our nights to help make things right. It’s now been almost a month and we still have not received the promised refund even after following up with them. It has now also been almost 2 weeks since they’ve responded to us which unfortunately leaves me no choice but to leave a review of our experience.

Property was less than one minute drive from ski slopes at Sugar Mountain. We checked in the evening, and in the morning realized that the home has a great view of the slopes. Grocery store, restaurants and ski rental equipment shops are all within 1-5 minutes away.

Great overall experience

This is a great spot for skiing- very close to the base of the mountain. You can easily come back for lunch and be right back at the slopes in no time.

The place was I'm an excellent location and was cozy. It was a rainy weekend but we enjoyed just hanging at the cabin too.

Good

The hosts of the Serenity Cabin are exceptionally responsive. We managed to lock ourselves out and the response was quick and easy. The area is beautiful with golf, hiking, and lovely small towns. The cabin is a cool yurt type that are all over Sugar Mountain with an awesome deck overlooking woods and slight view of the Sugar Mountain Golf Course. Of course, our hosts were not responsible for the rain but a grand time was had in spite of it.

The house is lovely, with high ceilings in all but 1 bedroom, lots of windows and light, and the conveniences of air conditioning, washer/dryer, and fabulous location less than 1 mile from golf, skiing, restaurants and supermarkets. The deck has a large round table and is nestled among trees 20 feet away so the sun shines through. Both bathrooms are tiny but adequate. Would visit again.

We all needed a pandemic escape! We had some hiccups in communication with Linsey, our host, including no response for info for check-in (>2days without response). We had a power outage for several hours, which I was told is common at that location. there also was a resident in the unit beneath us that seemed to come and go (noisily) at odd hours. The unit itself was fine, but pretty dated. There is virtually no storage for provisions in the kitchen. It was nice to be near a short greenway trail for exercise. Overall, this was a nice getaway, but I would definitely not have more than three folks staying there as it is very ‘cozy’!

We really enjoyed staying in this cottage. It was a perfect size for our family with several children. It was clean and had all the kitchen utensils, pots, and dishes we needed. We would have like to have known in advance that the bottom portion of the cottage was occupied by other people.

Great hideaway that is attainable even during a winter blast.. very cozy and close to all the snow action and entertainment. Fun times for all!!
