We had the most wonderful week at this property. We were two families with small children reuniting after many years apart. The house was well equipped, clean and very comfortable. The property was stunning! The pictures do not do it justice. It was so peaceful and relaxing. The gardens are beautiful. There are so many little areas to sit and take it all in. The community around the home was very welcoming. The best little cafe was out the back gate and the butcher across the street was amazing. And of course our hosts were helpful and so kind. I hope we can come back here again someday.

Melina and Guglielmo are the most impressive property owner/managers we’ve ever experienced. They are so attentive. Even brought jumper cables when our car died. The villa is absolutely stunning. The pictures on VRBO are great but still don’t do it justice. Seconds from a cafe and minutes to the beach and restaurants. Couldn’t ask for a lovelier stay or hosts.

This house is absolutely fantastic! It is even better then what you see in the photos. Lovely big rooms and the garden is huge! The beach is close and we also loved the fact that the shops for food and wine was literally on your doorstep. A few good restaurants also within 3-5 minutes walk. The host is so helpful with every question you might have. We were a big family of 12 with small children and an age range up to 70. The kids did love the pool! We can all highly recomend this place!

We have had a great time in this beautiful villa!

This was a special place to stay. As listed, the garden is very large and provides great privacy and shade. The locals were very helpful as we muddled along with an app to help our Italian. The coffee shop (opposite back gate) and local wine shop were particular highlights. We had a mix of days out and staying by the pool. The pool was spotless as was the rest of the Villa. The Blue Moon was incredible and we loved walking along the seafront for an evening gelato. Melina was very responsive and there to welcome us when we arrived. There are no pictures of the annexe bedrooms online but they are beautiful and felt safe for teenagers to sleep in. The aircon in all the rooms proved very necessary in August. We had a fantastic holiday and would definitely recommend.

This house is decorated in a beautiful style with antique style furniture - everywhere you look there is something else to see. Even after a week we did not take it all in! We were 3 families totalling 10 from age 16 to 72 and there is lots of space to be together or find a quiet spot on your own. 2 minute walk to beach - the sea is so warm! 2 min walk to a supermarket (there is another about 7 mins away). Next to a wine shop! Pharmacy and restaurants all in easy walking distance. The hosts are so very welcoming and very helpful with anything that you need - they are such a lovely couple. This place is booked up in advance and once you have been it’s easy to see why. Just wonderful - 5 stars!

We had a wonderful time at Donnalucata. Our hosts were very friendly and uncomplicated. The house is outstanding like a green oasis in middle of the city. Only few meters to the beach - fantastic!

We were a family group of 7 who stayed at this delightful villa. It was perfectly clean and very well equipt with everything we could want for our holiday. The bed linen and towels were good quality and plentiful. Pool towels were also provided. Each bathroom had its own proper hairdryer, so no need to bring your own.Our 2 grown up children stayed in the separate rooms within the grounds, my husband and I and our youngest child stayed in the main house. This meant we were all together,but not on top of each other. There are some beautiful pieces of furniture, ornaments and antique headboards on the beds. We used the air conditioning diligently and did not go over our 350 KWH allowance for the week. The grounds are wonderful, with various areas to sit and relax in the shade. We picked lemons from the trees to cook with! The pool was lovely and clean and serviced every other day by a lady who crept in and out early in the morning. We bought wine by the bottle from the wine shop next door that dispensed decent wine from barrels into bottles. We bought our vegetables from the green grocers and fish from the harbour, where it had just been brought ashore. The small supermarket had everything else we needed. The beach had soft fine sand and was only crowded at the weekend when we were there. There were restaurants all within walking distance of the villa. Sandy and Melina were there to check us in and out and sent us information of local places to visit. We had a wonderful time at the villa and feel able to genuinely recommend it for a wonderful holiday.

We were three families that stayed in Melinas fantastic villa in Donnalucata and we had such a wonderful stay. The property was great for us, clean, beautiful and with great charm! We loved that they had antique drawers and other things that made it very welcoming and it didnt feel like a rental property. The garden was so nice with different "rooms", the pool and the chill out area was were we lived during daytime and the bbq and dinner table at evening hours. Our host Sandra was very helpful with restaurants and other tips for us during the week. We hope to come back soon again!

Mycket välkomnande, barnvänligt, fantastiskt hus med en enorm tillhörande park, 100 meter till en milslång sandstrand. Grönsaksaffären och mataffär mindre än 2 minuter från huset. Vi var 13 personer varav 8 vuxna och 5 barn och vi har haft en mycket skön vistelse. Kontakten med ägarna och den som hjälpte till med förvaltningen har varit mycket bra, dom har varit så lyhörda och hjälpsamma. Stort tack Melina, Guglielmo och Sandra Vi vill verkligen rekommendera detta och vi skulle gärna vilja återvända.

Carefully maintained spacious house with vast garden and an owner who went out of her way to make sure everything was right.

We had a wonderful stay at Villa La Forma Dell’Acqua. My husband and I chose this villa to host our destination wedding. We rented it for the week with both our families (12 people total). Each couple had their own room. We held our ceremony in the garden. We really didn’t have to do much to decorate. There are so many beautiful areas for photos, or to just relax and enjoy. Several common areas and quiet nooks for alone time. We also loved the lavender bushes and lemon trees at the back of the property. The owner, Melina, was instrumental to our special day. She promptly replied to all of our emails and connected us with local talent. She arranged makeup and hair with Carlo and Vania just down the street from the villa. They were fantastic! Great taste and very professional. Melina also arranged for a chef and a stunning cake for the evening. It was quite impressive, and very reasonably priced. The food was delicious and plentiful. She prepared tons of hors d’oeuvres and mimosas for our family while we went to Modica for more photos. The location is great too! If you have a car, it is a 30 min drive to Modica, 10 min to Scicli, and about an hour and 15 min to Syracuse for a day trip! We took advantage of all of it. It is a 3 minute walk to the beach, if that. There was some great restaurants close by (we really enjoyed Retro). On either side of the entrance to the villa, there is a wine shop and a small grocery store - very handy! One thing to keep in mind is Sundays are very quiet in Donnalucata. Regular business hours for most restaurants and shops seem to be in the morning/early afternoon, then reopens in the evening. The photos of this place blew us away. The villa is even more impressive in person. The hospitality of Melina and her staff took our stay to the next level. If you’re looking for a beautiful home away for family and friends, this place is worth it!

Location excellent, layout of house suited us perfectly, large backyard was great for the kids. Melina was very helpful from the beginning to the end. Would like to go back one day.

We sayed at the villa for a week at the end of October, 2 families with children aged between 7 & 15 plus grandparents. Everthing was wonderful. The garden is huge and beautiful with lots of seating areas, fruit trees, childrens play area and BBQ. The swimming pool was fantastic, the kids spent most of their time in it and it was cleaned every day, The villa itself was amazing, it had everything you'd need and more. The double and twin rooms with large bathroom and private terrace at the top of the house is perfect for a young family and the other rooms and annex bedrooms are all lovely and have private bathrooms. The decor and attention to detail is just fabulous. The location is great with everything you need within a 5 min walk, supermarkets, bank, butcher, greengrocer, gelateria, bakery, resturarants and a wine shop less than 5 metres from the front door! And a coffee shop opposite the back door for the mornings. The beach is a 2 min walk, we were there slightly out of season so it was very quiet, the weather was still warm and we swam in the sea much to the locals amusement! I could have spent the whole week relaxing in Donnalucata but we'd hired a car so decided to explore a little bit. There are some lovely places to visit within an hours drive, Modica to see the chocolate museum, Ragusu Albi was lovely to walk around and we saw the migrating flamingos at the nature reserve. Our flight was in the evening so on the last day we went up Mount Etna before heading to the airport. This was absolutely amazing and well worth the effort. To sum it all up.. a relaxing family holiday in a stunning, friendly and unspoilt location with great local food and wine. Thank you to Melina and William for sharing your little piece of paradise and to Sandra for looking after us during our stay.

Beautiful house(s) set in a huge garden that is more like a park. The pictures don’t really show how big the place is. There is even a playground and a small pond. The pool area is very nice and the pool is cleaned every morning. The beach is just a few hundred metres away and is never crowded. The hosts are very helpful and gave us a lot of assistance even in the period preceding our stay. We made use of the chef service and were very happy with the tasty local food served. Make sure to buy your local wine in the neighbouring store! We were 14 people and there was plenty of room for all of us. Donnalucata is a genuine, quiet and unexploited place with lots of charm.

On top of that Melina is very responsive and has a whole team of people to make sure your stay is as smooth as possible. You could not ask for more. I highly, highly recommend La Forma dell'Acqua.

Vi var 12 i alderen 1-60 år, hvor alle hyggede sig i den storslåede villa med privat pool midt i byen Donnalucata - og kun 100 meter til stranden. Donnalucata er en smuk og stille mindre by væk fra alle turister. Perfekt hvis du ønsker en ferie sammen med lokale silianere. Vi kommer meget gerne igen:)

In early April 2018, three generations of our family (7 adults and 4 young children ranging in age from 70 years to 2 years) spent a week at Villa La Forma d'Acqua. Everything about the villa and its grounds was excellent. We were met by Melina, Guglielmo and their two charming children who showed us around the villa’s extensive grounds and the house which has been in the family for generations. The house and grounds demonstrate their love and care for the property which they are always looking for ways to improve. Living only 5 km away, they were readily available to answer queries throughout our stay, but never intrusive. The photographs and description on this site are all accurate, but there are two ways in which the description does not do full justice to the villa: • The house is set in its own small park with a wide variety of fruit trees as well as extensive children’s play areas. We found it hard to persuade our 4 young children to venture out of the grounds because they enjoyed them so much. I would suggest clicking on the satellite view of the google map to get a better feel for the size of the villa’s gardens. • The second fully equipped kitchen seemed a luxury but proved invaluable especially for eating outside. If you are planning to stay, it would be worth thinking in advance about how to use the third storey twin bedroom which does not have a bathroom and is only accessed through the bedroom below. It worked well for us as a child’s bedroom. We enjoyed our stay very much and will look for an opportunity to revisit in the future.

Fantastic Villa that introduces you to the history of Sicily in every detail. Beautiful, quiet with all the comforts of modern life ... spacious ... we were 9 people with independence.
