Absolute lovely environment and home.

The house is just like the pictures. Everything was perfect except the weather which is always unpredictable.

I stayed at Seal Rock Cottage for one month and it’s the best thing I ever did for myself. The cottage was beautiful, the location was convenient and the sunsets were amazing. I was able to see much of Ireland as day trips from the cottage - Kenmare, Killarney, Dingle, Waterville, Beara Peninsula, Garnish Island, Valentia Island, the Skelligs and many other places. I took morning walks surrounded by beauty. I saw seals when I paddle boarded. Everything was perfect.

This was actually my first experience with VRBO, and I can’t imagine a better experience. The cottage was as clean as can be, instructions were clearly laid out about how all the appliances work, the scenery was beautiful… even the weather cooperated to complete a phenomenal stay! It was so awesome that we only left once to explore the area… we couldn’t imagine any place being better than this!

The Cottage is only a 15 minute drive from Sneem and a 25 minute drive from Kenmare. Blarney Castle, Killarney, the Ring of Kerry, the Dingle Peninsula, and the Beara Peninsula are easy day trips from the Cottage. We had a wonderful time exploring the stunning countryside of Southern Ireland, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay on Rossmore Island. I would certainly recommend this property to others who are considering a visit to Ireland.

A beautifully presented property that is exactly as per the pictures. A secluded spot for a quiet getaway but in a fantastic area for exploring. Highly recommended.

It is difficult to summarize the time spent at Seal Rock Cottage. I must admit, I am a person who is easily impressed by the finer things that I come across in life, but Seal Rock Cottage was so much more than a simple luxury experience. It was like entering a planned theme experience. But it wasn’t… it was natural… organic. From the moment we turned off N70, and crossed the ancient bridge, the experience unfolded. Through a cow pasture, over a knoll, along a single lane dive, to the gates of Seal Rock. The next four days will remain embossed on my mind till the end. Our stay was in the month of December, not what one would think of as a time to tour. To the contrary, it was a spectacular time to visit Rossmore Island. Everyday was different… cloudy… sunny… misty… stormy… and so on… and so on. All that was punctuated by tempest coming ashore one the night. We woke to a daybreak of waves crashing on the shoreline, and a wild frothy bay. Showering with a view through a skylight was like being in an action movie. All of that being said, and I haven’t even mentioned the quality of Seal Rock Cottage itself… and I won’t attempt to do so. Think of luxury, comfort, and cozyness against the backdrop of a spectacular natural setting. I could go on and on… but you have to experience it for yourself.

If you want to get away from it all, this is a fantastic place to do it. Whether sparkling in the sunshine or moody mists, it's an extremely comfortable place to unwind. The view never gets old, the house is beautifully furnished and well stocked. Be aware that you will need to get in the car to go anywhere.

One word Perfect in every way !

Lovely cottage in a wonderful location.

We stayed two months and it could not have been more perfect. The cottage, property and location were everything we expected and much more. Excellent as a base for daily excursions if that is your interest, but don’t miss the beauty and peace of just spending quiet time at the cottage itself. This is a very special place you don’t want to miss. And I highly recommend booking in the off season: we enjoyed so much more without crowds and busses and in many cases nearly had it to ourselves. This micro climate gives you all kinds of weather in one week, even one day and that in itself is sensational and typically Irish, so don’t bother trying to time it just right, just book it and enjoy it. Superb hosts who haves earned their reputation.

We had a great time! We really felt like we got away and were able to relax.

Seal Rock is even more lovely in real life than the photos. The cottage is luxuriously furnished and infused with light even on an overcast Irish day. The panoramic views of Kenmare Bay never become passé and the absolute quiet is the antidote for whatever may be ailing you.

Our stay at Seal Rock Cottage was (too) short, but perfect. We loved the cottage and the serene location. The views leading to the cottage - and at the cottage - were incredible. The owners were very responsive to our inquiries prior to our arrival, and check-in was seamless. The information manual for guests was especially helpful and complete - with both useful household information, as well as suggestions for activities, eateries, and lovely drives along the Ring of Kerry. We highly recommend Seal Rock Cottage!

Very remote but nice and quiet for those who want to be well away from it all. Best & most comfortable beds in Ireland! Pretty view of the sea with lovely landscaping as foreground. Jane was immediately responsive to any questions. Do follow her directions to Seal Rock Cottage which are excellent.

A Beautiful home in a beautiful location. It is remote and not the easiest location to find but the owners directions were very helpful and this is my second visit to this home so I would obviously come back again. If you want to be in a city center this is not the place for you but if you don’t mind a short drive you will be in Kenmare in 20 minutes where there are some really wonderful restaurants for foodies and the people are lovely! The Bay views from this home are nothing short of amazing and a brisk walk up the lane to the main road provides your morning exercise and even more stunning views. The home is absolutely beautiful and the beds are luxurious!

I cannot speak highly enough about the setting of Seal Rock Cottage. It was peaceful, beautiful, and such a special place to call "home" on our vacation to County Kerry. The cottage itself was quite comfortable and well equipped. We didn't have any trouble locating it and used it as a launching pad to explore other areas of the county. It was about 20 minutes away from the charming village of Kenmare which had everything we needed if we felt like going out. Jane and Michael made our stay as seamless and easy as possible and were excellent hosts. My only suggestion would be to have the cottage a bit cleaner upon arrival. We used the kitchen and thought it could have been a bit cleaner and the floors could have used an extra sweeping by the curtains in the family room but overall we were quite pleased and I would very highly recommend this place to anyone desiring a relaxed vacation in one of the most beautiful places you can find. I am very happy we chose Seal Rock for our holiday stay.

This is a great property. The house is decorated so nice. Spacious and well thought out. The views are amazing. The wifi was great. The owner is wonderful to deal with and got back to us straight away with questions. We travel a lot and stay at lots of homes and this is in our top 5. Stunning! Not to be missed!

We really loved our stay at Seal Rock Cottage on Rossmore island. Beautifully decorated cottage with well equipped kitchen. Gorgeous view!! Highly recommend it.

Difficult to improve upon

We (my fiancée and myself) came to the cottage on Friday night. It was quite cold these days (below 0 Celsius), but heating worked very well + we could make use of the amazing fireplace! The house is just perfect if you like to be at the end of world. House is indeed decorated in very professional way which emphasised the cosy and magical atmosphere of the place. Communication with the owners was very good and getting to the site not as difficult as it could look like. We wish to go there again!
