Calf Close Cottage is a tardis! Super spacious for two, lovely and warm and extremely comfortable. The cottage is also well equipped and very clean. It is situated in a peaceful location with an enclosed private back garden. Lovely host and would certainly recommend a stay. We hope to return.

The cottage is ideally situated on the outskirts of the village and benefits from peace and quiet for a totally relaxing holiday. Surprisingly much more spacious than the photos show. The large secure garden was perfect for letting our dog wander freely with no worries. Many walks on the doorstep but these were along minor roads so dogs need to be on lead but lots of off lead walks a short drive away. Can recommend Gelt Woods, Talkin Fell (cattle for a short distance) and many parts of Hadrian’s wall, again some cattle may be encountered along the route. We had a fabulous meal at The Duke of Cumberland at Castle Carrock and food served all day! Unfortunately we did find the bed extremely uncomfortable and lumpy pillows which need replacing, however well equipped kitchen with everything we needed and nice lounge area. Overall despite the bed our stay was relaxing and enjoyable and Jenia the owner was on hand at all times without being obtrusive.

The accommodation was very good. difficult to find our way around the local villages. no local shops. we had to leave three days early, due to medical reasons.

We had a fantastic stay here. Was the perfect base to explore the area with lots of great walks located within an hour’s drive away (there are also closer walks too!) We made good use of the bath to relax our tired muscles! The cottage is massive for 2 people with lots of room for a yoga mat. The kitchen is really well equipped. All in all we had a fantastic stay here and hope to return!

The property was far more spacious than the photos implied, a very well equipped and comfortable cottage in an extremely quiet location ideally situated for exploring the area. The large fenced in garden is ideal if like us you have a Bernese, he loved it. Can highly recommend and would certainly book to stay here again.

If you want nice quiet surroundings with no hustle and bustle, this is the place for you. A lovely cottage which matched its listing, a host that was available but left you alone, and also a short few miles to some eateries, small towns and historical sites - which ever suits - all in all a very relaxing few days, mixed in with some good walks and good food

We had a lovely stay at Calf's Close. The cottage was very spacious and extremely well equipped. We got a starter pack of freshly laid eggs, home grown fruit and preserves. The area was a good base for exploring the borders and the Lakes without too much travel. Jenia was very helpful when we needed anything and yet very mindful of our privacy. A lovely week despite mixed weather.

Lovely peaceful place for a relaxing break, well equipped for all your needs away from home and a short drive into Brampton for provisions or eating out. Would love to visit again

If I had to criticise one thing it would be that the fridge freezer is in the hallway away from the kitchen. When making a cuppa you had go for the milk, then return the milk. Same when cooking everything seem to be in the fridge. Apart from that an enjoyable place to stay.

Lovely little cottage in nice surroundings

A very large one bedroom cottage with everything you could wish for in an ideally secluded location. Jenia was friendly yet not intrusive and can't wait to return

The property was correctly listed as being for two people but, being a converted barn, it was surprisingly spacious. Not only that but it was spotless, very well equipped and in a lovely part of the country ideal for someone looking for a quiet break away from the crowd. Jenia, the hostess, was a great hostess and I have no worries recommending this to others looking for a peaceful break in this area.

You can be assured of a warm welcome when you arrive at Calf Close Cottage. Jenia is the perfect host who allows you time to settle in before she knocks on the door to check that all is okay. The accommodation is very spacious, comfortable and well equipped and the private garden is an extra bonus. Certainly, a place to come back to.

Beautiful peaceful area. Delightful wood to take our dog for a short walk. Could do to receive directions on how to get to the cottage and whether you need to do anything specific on arrival at time of booking. Garden and garden furniture really needs some attention

Such a lovely place with a very nice host. The accommodation is very spacious, clean, and has everything you need. A beautiful garden is perfect for your furry friend. Ideal and very quite location. We were very pleased and would highly recommend this place.

Thus us the second time myself and Zoe' and Dexter have stayed at this beautifull cottage ..Jenia the owner has been brill , we had the place booked for May but after 2 cancellations, we finally got there. 14 days if just peace and quiet, Dexter had a great time too .if you have a dog and lookibgvforca place to stay I dey recommend this place you will not regret it . We will be coming back for sure loads to see visit and a just perfect local pub The Black Smith's Arms ..good good and top service and just a short walk from Talkn Tarn .Thank you Jenia again came home relaxed and will see you soon .Neil & Zoe' and Dexter 🐶�x

The cottage was just perfect, very spacious clean ,the bed comfortable ,if you have a dog well this is the place safe back yard for exercise,shower and hot water good ,kitchen has every thing you will need ,.10/10 in my book .🙂🙂

The peace, lovely country garden with so many birds, and walks from the door along country lanes with beautiful views and lovely sunsets, make this a real country retreat. It’s in a great place for exploring Hadrian’s Wall and other sights.

All round very nice experience. Spacious dog friendly accommodation in a lovely location that includes a great walk on the doorstep around a pretty Tarn. Very enjoyable stay and an excellent location for forays into Northumberland and Scotland. The owner was very pleasant and accommodating. I would recommend this property to all dog lovers.
