Breakfast was good with lots of choice. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Staff were helpful with my sightseeing questions, and allowed me to keep my case there well into the afternoon on the day I left.

My room was really shabby. Old neglected furniture, and cluttered. There were holes in the wall where earlier lights had been removed and behind the door.. My bed was not made up each day. The sheets were old and didn't fit properly. The carpet was dirty and stained. The view from the window showed Biffa bins and other rubbish stored around.

The room was adequate & the bed comfortable. The breakfast was very good. The location of the hotel was ideal for exploring Tewkesbury and having a walk alongside the river.

If you want a 5 star luxury hotel go elsewhere. However if you want comfort, space, cleanliness, a great breakfast and helpful, friendly staff, on site car parking whilst in the middle of town, then the Abbey Hotel is perfect. I started and finished a 3 day cycle tour here and the owners very kindly looked after my car for me.

The room is very dated. Lots of dust which suggests a minor effort is made to clean the room. Bathroom roller blind was broken so couldn't let in any light. Toilet was constantly topping up and noisy. Toilet seat not fitted correctly and loose.

The exterior building work made finding the entrance a little tricky, but such renovations in lowseason are a good sign, and of course sometimes necessary. Lack of illuminated light switches on stairs and corridors left us sometimes hunting for them in the dark. But to be fair we arrived earlier than expected and the day was dark and rainy so probably yhe light had not turned on yet. The hotel was so typical of the whole Georgian feel of the town it made one feel that any moment someone from uthe Pickwick Club would wonder in, and yes I know Dickens charecters were technically Victoria, but help illustrate essences this gem of an Hotel.

We were very pleased with our room. It was lovely and warm. The temperature outside was freezing.

The car park was a bit tight. But my husband managed OK.
