And fantastic amenities. Thomas was very accomodating and responsive with one little issue we had. Thanks again.

Thomas is a kind and generous host who has set out this property with great attention to detail. There are many nooks and crannies around the extensive gardens to explore and enjoy for all ages. We found the 5 en-suite double bedrooms an ideal layout for our family group and there were several eating and sitting areas to choose from depending on the time of day and whether wanting convivial or silent company! The swimming pool is a good size for both lengths and family fun and within a few days our very cautious 2 year old grandson turned a water-boy. The whole area is so quiet and peaceful and we were surrounded by olive groves and networks of ancient dry stone walls. The villa is well positioned for exploring the renowned white villages of Puglia and also the Ionian and Adriatic coastlines.

Fantastic!!
The property lived up to all our expectations, the outdoor space is amazing and left us not wanting to go out exploring (when we did the surroundings are also great). We were given a great welcome by our hosts on arrival and felt comfortable contacting them about anything we needed and on the only occasion we did they went above and beyond to help. There are lots of facilities and things to do at the property for a big family like ours and we planned to do some of everything but our two week stay wasn’t long enough!! We would definitely go back again and loved our stay!!

Wonderful Family vacation in Puglia
Stayed in June and had a phenomenal time with a family of 8. The property was quite comfortable and Peter and Jenny were excellent hosts who responded promptly to our concerns. Our only two issues is that there were electrical problems and for a few nights we had probs sleeping comfortably due to the AC and that it was tricky for an American without the British cable accounts suggested to access TV content, which made it difficult for us to watch the World Cup going on during our stay. Would have given it 5 stars otherwise and would certainly return.

Gorgeous property, fab holiday
Eleven of us stayed at Bella vista for two weeks. Six adults, four boys aged 5-10 and a 1 year old baby. From the moment we arrived the owners, Peter and Jen, could not have been more accommodating. Peter had even picked up a large Boots delivery of nappies, baby food etc that I had delivered and had stored it for a week before.'The house and villa were even better than the pictures and the surroundings boasted everything you could need for a fab holiday. A great swimming pool, badminton net, boxing bag, boules court, miniature golf, tree house, croquet set (I am sure that I have forgotten something else) which kept our boys entertained for hours. Our family is a family of foodies and the pizza oven, outdoor BBQ and other cooking facilities were fab and enabled us to try out different things each evening. There were multiple places to eat too although the area by the pool was our favourite and enabled us to keep a good eye on the kids. There are two great places to eat within a couple of miles although you would certainly need a car if you were staying here as there are no buses or taxis from and to the nearby town. The beach was approx a 30 minute drive away and Ostuni is very picturesque and well worth a visit.
The roof terrace is a gorgeous place to sit with drinks of an evening looking at stars and the owners have even wired speakers up here. They really have thought of everything and were happy to make reservations for us in Italian and made some great recommendations of places to go and to eat. We wouldn't hesitate in recommending this place to anyone and really enjoyed our stay. Thank you Jen and Peter!

Idyllic retreat in Puglia
We usually go on holiday in France and decided to explore something different in Puglia. We are very pleased we did as we had a wonderful time in this unique region and property. We didn't know much about Puglia before we went, and were therefore very grateful for the owner, Peter's detailed recommendations and responses to our enquiries from the outset. The property is easily reached from either Bari or Brindisi airport and is 20mins drive from some great beaches and towns. Peter provided us with a list of recommended restaurants and places to see and each of his recommendations was excellent and we had great fun exploring the region. The property itself is a peaceful haven with expansive outdoor area with plenty of activities for kids and adults. The pool area is large and well maintained. There house and villa are both very well appointed in terms of facilities and cleanliness and it provides very flexible accommodation for groups of families, friends sharing. We had three generations staying at the property and it worked very well. There are plenty of outdoor locations well set-up for meals (by the pool, in the villa courtyard, by the pizza oven) which allows for great variety throughout the stay. Each bedroom is en-suite which is also an added bonus in a property of this size. We loved exploring the nearby town of Ceglie M, as well as Ostuni, Caravigno and Lecce (a little further afield). Driving around the region is very easy. We had two great days with the family at Guna Beach Club which is a 30 min drive and is a lovely beach club for the family to set up camp for the day. All in all we had a super stay and would recommend to others. Many thanks to Peter and his team for making us feel welcome.

Wonderful peaceful retreat, excellent facilities
What a lovely place, every detail has been thought of; amazing music system that plays outside and inside to help you set the mood of your holiday, different spots to eat and relax throughout the property and plenty of activities to keep everyone amused!
A peaceful retreat with everything provided so you don't really have to leave! There are plenty of quiet corners under shady trees or in the sun for everyone to relax and find a space as well as different communal places to eat, drink and enjoy each others company. We loved the hammocks especially! There are plenty of places to eat; the pool terrace for lunch, the courtyard for a bbq and the terrace beside the pizza oven. Roof terrace and sunken roof terrace great for sundowners and after dinner drinks.
The rooms are well appointed, would be nice to have aircon in all the bedrooms but fans are very appreciated and do help in the summer heat.
The children loved the covered seating area by the pool and spent many hours lazing there reading and drinking and chatting long after the adults had given in for the day!
Short drive to local town where there is a good supermarket and local shops not to mention a great gelateria. We hired a boat for the day from Monopoli harbour which was about 45 mins away - a great day out with great memories made which we will never forget. Ostuni about 15 mins away and well worth a visit, pretty old town.

We have just enjoyed one of our best holidays ever here and would heartily recommend it to anybody wanting to get a little bit off the beaten track in Southern Italy.
Although it is less than half an hour’s drive away from the sea - and considerably nearer historic old hilltop towns like Ostuni and Ceglie and their bustling open-air markets, narrow streets, pretty squares and surprisingly inexpensive family restaurants serving great local cuisine - the Bella Vista estate itself is so well-appointed we could very easily have not ventured outside its gates for the duration of our stay and still had the most wonderful time!
The exceptionally comfortable villa and its adjoining barn lacked for nothing. With bedrooms (and bathrooms) enough to serve at least ten couples we immediately realised that it would be perfect for an extended family trip with children in tow. Maybe next year for that?
As it was we went in a party of six adults at the beginning of June just as the weather began to get nicely hot and were able to spend as much time together by the pool as we wanted or else lose ourselves in the various sheltered nooks and crannies which are a feature of the estate. And even the most unsporting of us enjoyed coming together in the late afternoon to play boules, badminton or pitch and putt prior to lighting up the barbecue or the authentic outdoor pizza oven.
Not surprisingly none of us wanted to go home!

There are so many different places to chill out, relax and enjoy the hill top view that we found it increasingly difficult to summon the energy to leave the property and the gorgeous pool - (favourite is the Moroccan rooftop lounge!) but when we did we were rewarded with some great local entertainment, brilliant markets and a ridiculous number of gorgeous restaurants in any of the surrounding hill top towns, all within 10 or 20 minutes drive

We had an exceptional holiday at Bella vista. The villas are set in large grounds with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. We were staying as a group of friends and the facilities and the layout of the property was first class. There are so many areas to eat, drink and relax that there is always a place to sit as a group and always a place to escape with a book. The property is maintained to a high standard as can be seen by the photographs on the site which reflect the real charm and versatility of the place. The pool is beautiful and looks quite spectacular when lit up in the evening.
We had a really relaxing holiday here and would definitely recommend it to friends.

Although there are loads of interesting hill top towns, markets, historic buildings, fantastic restaurants and the beach within 5 - 20 mins drive, the biggest problem we had was tearing ourselves away from the pure relaxation of lounging by the pool or in any of the areas cleverly designed for just chilling out. We were a party of 7 friends and although we came together for meals and outings, the property is also big enough to lose yourself around the land: up on the flat roof, up the hill looking out across to the surrounding hilltop towns, under the huge olive tree, or in the poolside gazebo lounging on comfy cushions. We ate out some nights - the local cuisine is amazing and you can be full on just the selection of delicious starters. We also shoppped for fresh produce at the markets and at the local farm for freshly made Mozzarella and dined al fresco at one of the four dining areas and terraces. Sunset drinks on the roof before supper most nights were quite magical with the swallows swooping. That's it I think - oh and the pool is the perfect size for doing an early morning 30 lengths or just floating about it! Enjoy!

Two families – or maybe one large extended family – fit easily into Bellavista, with stacks of wiggle room. You can swim or sunbathe around the pool, cool your toes in the secluded plunge pool, play boule, badminton or mini-golf, ride a swing in the trees, go walking or even running, cook with the pizza oven or the barbecue, eat and drink al fresco in one of the shady dining areas that you will come across as you stroll the grounds. Much later, you can even spend the night under the stars on the Moroccan-themed roof terrace.
Today I am sitting on a rustic bench, shaded by an ancient olive tree and lulled to indolence by the soft movement of the tree’s branches which cascade with tiny white flowers that the breeze blows over my toes. At my feet sway poppies, daisies and graceful grasses. Leaning back I glimpse, through the dense green points of almond branches, feathery patterns of slight clouds across an improbably blue sky. I can hear nothing but birdsong, the hum of crickets and the splashes and shouts of happy children in the pool. I become absorbed in watching an ant energetically and purposefully carry a leaf twice its size through the crunchy grass of the upper terrace.
Tomorrow, or maybe the next day, we will continue to explore the area. We’ll visit the wide empty beaches on both coasts where driftwood trees lie bleached and inviting in the shallows. Or Alberobello, the unique and beautifully preserved trulli town where we’ll climb up cobbled streets and be dazzled by the stark whiteness of these extraordinary buildings. We’ll explore Ostuni and sample truly local cuisine, spend practically nothing on mountains of local fruit and veg in Ceglie market, and visit the nearby farm for diet-busting local cheeses.
Or perhaps some of the group will just be happy to stay by the pool,. chat, do crosswords, soak up the sun and the beauty.
But whatever we do or don’t do during our week, there is one decision we’ll all make – we will come back to Bellavista.

Second visit
This was our second family holiday get together at Bellavista and proved to be even better than last year. My wife and I and our 2 children were joined by my mum and dad and the 2 separate buildings arrangement worked perfectly for us. We were in the villa with the kids while my parents stayed in the converted barn. The 2 lounges 2 kitchens enabled us all to do our own thing a bit but come together for lunch and dinner. There were plenty of eating places to choose from - the villa terrace, pool terrace, on the roof or by the pizza oven. After a bit of trial and error last year we became quite expert at the wood fired pizza oven and the kids loved making up their own toppings. The family competitive spirit was given full reign most evenings on the boules court which was new this year as were some very comfortable lounging areas by the pool. There was so much to do that we didn’t get to do as much beach or sight seeing as originally planned. We’ve already booked again for next year so maybe some sights will get seen then!
