Woodpeckers is a wonderful property with all the amenities needed for a short or long term stay. If anything the photos don’t do it justice - it is a quaint property with a lot of character. Excellently located to explore the local area. We appreciated the welcome pack provided and also the personal welcome and farewell from the owner Angie. We would highly recommend the property.

We booked Woodpeckers as we wanted some downtime from our hectic schedule of travelling the Uk & Ireland. So the Country location was great as it enable us to do day trips around Sussex /Surrey and Kent. Angie is a very good host, around if you need her but not intrusive. The property is exactly as advertised and the water pressure in the shower is just the best. I definitely recommend Woodpeckers if you are after a quiet country location.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Woodpeckers. Angela is a very good host, greeting us on our arrival and saying goodbye when we left. The cottage is in a lovely setting, very peaceful. We will book again when visiting our family in the future.

Angie was an absolutely lovely host, great communication before we arrived and so friendly and helpful when we did! The cottage is most definitely high end with fabulous fixtures and fittings throughout! Beautiful surroundings and we would definitely stay again and recommend it to anyone thinking of going there!

Had a lovely break in Woodpeckers Cottage . Excellent accommodation, all you would wish for in a holiday home . Angie was very friendly and helpful , especially as we wanted to extend our stay, which was fortunately possible. The rural setting makes the cottage even more special. Would definitely recommend and will return.

We had a very enjoyable stay at the cottage, it was beautifully furnished, very clean and was very well equipped with everything we needed. Very peaceful and relaxing location, and Angie, the owner was very helpful and kind. We definitely plan to return!

We booked for a weekend getaway post Christmas. The instructions were really clear we found it even in the dark! The cottage was lovely and cosy and have everything we needed for a comfortable relaxing stay. We were only sad we had to leave! Angie is a great attentive host and we can’t wait to return!

Absolutely beautiful cottage. This was our second stay and we will certainly be returning. The cottage has everything you need. Angie is a wonderful host and is there if you need her for anything but also leaves you alone to enjoy your stay. We love walking and the Ashdown Forest is on your doorstep as is the wonderful Plaw Hatch Farm Shop. If you are considering staying then make a booking as you will not be dissapointed!

The cottage is beautifully furnished and equipped, and sits in its own private garden on a much larger and very impressive estate. It has the feeling of a really rural getaway, but there are numerous attractions within easy reach. The owner. Angie. was charming and helpful, and also provided an excellent welcoming basket of essentials. All in all, a highly enjoyable place to stay.

Angie is an exemplary hostess, as are her cottages Woodpeckers and Deerkeepers, both of which we have enjoyed immensely.

Woodpeckers was wonderful. Clean bright and full of all of the mod cons one could need. Lovely welcome pack and initial visit from our host. All in all tip top, looking forward to another stay sometime in the future.

The cottage completely surpassed our expectations. Cleanliness and quality of furnishings and fittings could not be faulted while the heating system worked very efficiently. The host Angie went out of her way to provide information and kindly allowed an early check in and late check out as there were no adjacent bookings. Would definitely recommend this place for a relaxing out of town stay close to nature.

Woodpeckers cottage was beautifully clean and nicely furnished. We had everything we needed for our long weekend away and the owner also left a nice welcome pack, including wine! The log burner was great too. Would definitely recommend and would book again if staying in the area.

Woodpeckers was the perfect place for three day stay in November. It’s beautifully presented, everything is of high quality. The bathroom has a huge bath and separate large shower. There is a super wood burning stove and the kitchen is very well equipped.. Lots of clear information about what to do and see in the area. We thoroughly enjoyed chatting with Angie who is a delightful host. We would love to make another visit to Woodpeckers.

We are both in our late 70's/80's and the cottage was perfect for us for a quiet stay, all on one level with it's own garden and easy access to the woods. It was spotlessly clean, nicely decorated and very comfortable. The wood burning stove was a nice cosy feature for our autumn holiday. I enjoyed seeing deer in the woods, the horses in the fields and, at night, the dark skies with all the stars. Several lovely gardens and other attractions nearby, and a very nice lunch in The Cat at West Hoathly combined to make this an ideal break for us.

We have just returned from a lovely relaxing week at Woodpecker Cottage. The cottage is set within the grounds of the owners but has complete privacy and beautiful little gardens, front and back, which are perfect to sit for an afternoon G & T. It's decorated and furnished to a high standard making it very comfortable with a home from home feel, everything you could need has been thought of. Also the extra touches of fresh flowers and some groceries are very welcoming. The tennis court is a real bonus and some beautiful walks right on the doorstep. We highly recommend staying at Woodpecker Cottage.

A real home away from home, very warm and welcoming with fabulous gardens. The log fire was fantastic and we enjoyed late September curled up on the sofa in front of it.

The property was very comfortable. Well designed and high quality fixtures and fittings used. Well equipped kitchen. We've never been anywhere with such a spotlessly clean oven before! Extremely comfortable bed. Having the use of the tennis court was a bonus. Would stay again without hesitation.

Angie the owner has thought of everything you would require to make your vacation a really great stay, all the comforts of home in a peaceful setting, tucked away from the main road down a lane is Woodpecker Cottage, the perfect place for 2 people to enjoy a holiday in Sussex. Woodpeckers is a beautiful cottage decorated and equipped to a very high standard. Everything was thought of before our arrival including a welcome box, information pack, toiletries and slippers. It was like walking into a five star hotel! Angie is the most welcoming host and went to every effort to make our stay enjoyable. I cannot rate this property enough and would recommend it to anyone. Absolutely 5 star!

As you pull up to the front gates of this property, you already know you made the right choice. The property is breathtaking. A converted school house is the main residence, with the cottage located just to the right hand side. The property is very well maintained and is pleasing to the eye. The Woodpecker cottage is ideal for 2 to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, it has modern amenities, and is a great hideaway. You will have access to a tennis court, walking trails that lead to Ashford Forest, and a gym. The best part is the quiet, interrupted occasionally by the cooing of a dove perched in a tree or near by rooftop. The owners are friendly, greeting us upon our arrival and explaining the facilities available, the property, and Area of Natural Beauty (Ashford Forest). We enjoyed a fabulous 2 weeks here, and would be eager to return.
