This time the deck was newly painted and as well as the kitchen and a new mural on the wall. Every thing you could need to make your vacation better is supplied. From rafts,new beach chairs, umbrellas, sunscreen and 2 coolers.The bedrooms are huge and both have their own bathrooms. The loft can sleep 3 and is perfect for kids. The deck has a couch 2 loungers and a table that seats 6. This is a perfect home in a perfect location. The best part of this rental is the team that takes care of the property.Chad the house manager greets us every year on check in day. She remembers each returning guest and caters exclusively to your needs.Rosalee make sure the house is spotless. She even came by midweek and asked us if our sheets needed changing. Her husband is there every morning raking the yard and watering plants.I don't know how they consistently make it better year after year.This house feels like home to me. It's full of love and that comes from the team that cares for it.Thank you for another perfect visit.

It could easily accommodate more. We found the place incredibly tidy and clean and extremely well maintained. The kitchen was very well-equipped with everything you need for meals cooked in. It was complete with an outdoor gas barbecue. All systems functioned to an exceptional level including the gas oven, air conditioning units and we so appreciated the consistent water pressure and constant ceiling fans to help with air circulation. We cannot say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay, just minutes from a beautiful beach. We would definitely entertain a subsequent visit. It is only about 100 yards to walk to the beach along a clear but lush pathway AND a short road or beach walk to PASCAL'S restaurant and Sammy's Bar. Some folding beach chairs welcome for visits to the incredible (and extremely uncrowded) beaches. The local management personnel are a breath of fresh air in that they are very friendly and accommodating - they truly want your stay to be a vacation and stress free. The property is just steps away to an incredible beach that we felt like we had all to ourselves for miles. The house has tons of space and with two teenagers they could spread out if they wanted. The kitchen is well appointed which was great for in-home meals and cooking. We loved the furnishings and décor and all the special touches. Shawna was an excellent host -- she was attentive and responsive to our needs and questions and appreciated all the information, recommendations and tips she provided before our arrival and during our stay. The caretake, Lachadra, was so helpful as well. The location was ideal; only a short drive from the GHB airport, a short drive into town, and great starting point to explore the island. It was better then perfect. It didn't think it could get better then the first visit but somehow the owner and house manager figured that out. I was again impressed on how they do it. The house is located on the best part of the island, mid point so exploring is easy. It takes 90 minutes to get to Lighthouse and about the same to reach Ben Bay. The house comes with everything you need to explore with ease. A large cooler for your longer days out or a mini cooler for beach days in front of the house. House came fully equipped with beach chairs, umbrella, snorkel gear, rafts, beach bags and even freezer packs for cooler! Forget your water shoes or hat at home? Well there are plenty of extras at the house along with extra sunscreen and bugspray.
The porch as always was the gathering spot from early morning coffees to evening drinks. Plenty of sitting room inside as well, with weather being perfect we never actually sat inside. We ate most meals in because it was easier for us being vegan. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking.
I cannot explain how incredible this house is. I will be back again and again. Many thanks to the whole team that made my week the best. Much respect.

We stayed at this property over Christmas. We paid a lot per night, my expectations were high for the price we paid. The property no longer looks like pictures. I wish vrbo allowed renters to share photos. 1. The sofa is disgusting with moldy spots and stains all over it. My daughter refused to even sit on it. It’s really bad when the sun shines bright and you can see. At night I pretended it looked like pics. 2. The beds are no longer comfortable and need a refresh. The one pillow per person stinks. 3. I didn’t realize the prop had no dishwasher. They didn’t even leave soap to hand wash dishes. We left our half used bottle of course. 4. So many wasps, like 8 active nests. This made sitting outside difficult. 5. That nice photo of the outdoor lounger, do not envision yourself sitting on that... it’s equally old and stained and in need of replacement. 6. Location amazing. 7. The kitchen cookware is awful. The kitchen itself is rough. Overalll, we paid a lot for this property and I regret choosing it. I reached out to owner and she didn’t care that we felt this way, she believes her prop is great. The location is incredible and the prop has so much potential. If the owner replaced the items I mentioned, paying what we did would be no issue. But when you are away from home over a holiday and pay top dollar, then you should equally have a prop that looks like the photos. Like, get rid of the wasps nests at least! Seriously wish I could share pics.

Not just in eleuthera, as i travel outside the US alot and always rent from Homeaway. This was the best property i have ever rented. First of all the location was perfect. Easy to explore the whole island. The house has everything you need and everything you didnt know you needed.beachchairs, umbrellas, floats, snorlkle gear, cooler etc. Also they have 5 gallon water jugs which are so convenient to refill at the local gas station. The house was large and had room for more then our party of 4. Could easily accommodate 8. The outside deck was large with a gas grill we used for all our dinners. The beach was the best part. So easy to get to. Just right down the path in front of the house. This review would not be complete without mentioning Chad. She was our caretaker while we were there. She can arrange anything you need. We had her stock our fridge with beer for us before we got there. Also rent a car from Chad and her husband Barry. All i can say is Wow! Bravo. Outstanding. This house is the best! You will see me again.

We love location and easy access to beach. Great house for 5-7 people.

The accommodation was perfect for our party consisting of myself and my husband, two grown up daughters and a teenager who enjoyed his own space upstairs. The house is spacious and light and conducive to give each of us our privacy with our own individual bathrooms and when we all gathered together there were lots of choices as to where we chilled out. The location was peaceful, the beach amazing the local people were all so friendly and we had great support from the owner and her contacts on the island. All in all a most comfortable place to stay.

We had a complete blast on our week long getaway. The house was spacious and I loved the fresh air and natural light. Having the beach so close was incredible for a quick morning beach visit, head back for breakfast then turn back around again :) Most our time was spent lounging on the patio or the hammock catching up and enjoying the beautiful view. Sky Beach is a beautiful scenic walk along the ocean to get to some tasty frozen drinks and delicious dinner. Can't wait to go back again!!

Shangri La is nestled amongst palm trees which create much needed shade for little vacationers, and is a short walk away from a beautiful beach for big vacationers. The house is clean, well stocked, and very comfortable. The owners were very helpful and the team they work with on the island were all lovely. We absolutely recommend this property and hope to return one day.

we stayed a long weekend at Shangri La and the house was perfect. It was really homey. It has almost every amenity you can imagine. It is nestled amongst some nice shade trees and the ocean is only a one minute walk over the hill. It's in a nice quiet area, we didn't hear a sole. The loft is not ideal for someone that likes to sleep in as it is open to the living area, however, the 2 bedroom are super spacious and very quiet. You cannot hear anything in the other room. I highly recommend this house.

This house was perfect for our family. There were 6 in our group; 2 active 60+ yr olds, 2 40 somethings, and two teenagers. The boys loved the loft space, it was perfect for teenagers to have their own space, but still be around and participate in the conversation. The large deck was great for morning breakfast and reading, and was a good place for early risers to hang out while the rest of us were waking up. The long two-track road that runs in front of the house and goes along the beach is perfect for running. The beach is a short walk from the house and was stunningly beautiful. While we were there, the waves were big enough for gentle body surfing--gentle enough for all six of us to enjoy. The house was well-stocked with things you usually have to purchase when you rent a house (salt, pepper, spices, sugar, tea, etc), as well as towels, snorkeling gear, lawn chairs, etc. The location was great for us....a short drive to Governor's Harbour as well as gorgeous beaches on the Caribbean side and many more on the Atlantic side. It was also very close to the airport, but not close enough to be bothered by airplanes. Brian, the property manager, was very helpful with getting us into the house and making sure we had everything we needed. While we were there, a strong wind blew from the east, and it was great to be able to head to the sheltered Caribbean beaches. We liked so much about our trip and our stay at Shangri-La, it's hard to come up with things we didn't like or could be improved. One of our party, me, got a lot of bug bites. I think they might have been little sand flies down at the beach, but I only seemed to notice them at sunset. There were some small flying beetles that the kids noticed at night, but frankly, I was glad they weren't mosquitos or cockroaches. There were frequent power outages, but I think this was an island-wide problem. The Wi-Fi worked well. There was no TV, which was mostly a blessing. We were visiting in the midst of the NCAA basketball tournament and would have enjoyed watching the games at home. But since there was no TV, we went to Ronnie's Hi-d-Way to watch the game, and that was one of the highlights of the trip. The local people were so friendly and warm, it was really a great time.

We stayed for a week in a group of 5. The property is very clean and well maintained. There are ample ceiling fans to keep the air comfortable and circulating. The bedrooms also have AC units if they are required. The outside shower is nice too. We stocked up on groceries and beer the first day and cooked most of our own meals in the kitchen and on the BBQ. Groceries are a little over 5 minutes drive up the HWY. We did eat out at a few different local restaurants as well. The nearest beach is on the Atlantic side and takes about 1 minute to get there on foot. The water is warm and very clear. Snorkeling is excellent. There are several reefs to explore. It was also very private. We saw a handful of people pass by throughout the entire week. We had access to a vehicle and were able to tour a good section of Northern Eleuthera as well as water taxi (5$) to Harbour Island for lunch. Getting around is a breeze as there is pretty well one main road but you drive on the left side. I would recommend this property for pretty much anyone. You can relax on any of the nearby beaches bordering the Atlantic or Caribbean. Or if you're up for exploring, you can check out Preachers Cave, the abandoned navel base, or the beautiful glass window bridge. I wish we had more time to check out the South end. Can't wait to return! Oh, and try the hot sauces!
