Location, staff, breakfast

No AC, mirror too high in the bathroom

Such a lovely gem!! The area were the hotel is located is beautiful, such a cute little beach, the views from the front lawn towards the ocean are stunning, with all the trees and beautiful flowers. We arrived after they had closed the lobby for check-in but had no problem finding our key and access to our room. Both the room and the bathroom were really clean. Beds were really comfortable and it was really quiet at night. Our surprise came in the morning when we went to the main building for breakfast: what a delight! The view from the dining area is gorgeous, the nice jazz music in the background, the DELICIOUS popovers, muffins and breakfast in general, the lovely owners...it felt like living inside of one of those summer reads. We wished we could have stayed a little longer than just one night

The beds were a bit uncomfortable, and the wifi and electricity were a bit unpredictable.

The complimentary breakfast on Saturday and Sunday was wonderful! An extreme treat for those traveling and to experience some down home Maine baking. Additionally the beds were very comfortable.

I realize that part of the charm of Maine is how rustic it is maintained. However, the room in whole could use some handyman touch. The water pressure is zero to firehose, the toilet handle needed to be held down for long period of time in order to flush. Overhearing others conversations during breakfast, sounds like each room has its own quirks.

THE LOCATION WAS GREAT. AND THE HOMEMAID MUFFINS WERE AMAZING AND TURNOVERS. THEY COULD HAVE CHANGED IT UP A LITTLE THOUGH AND ADDED BACON OR SOMETHING THE NEXT MORNING.

THE ROOMS WERE SMALLER THEN EXPECTED BUT COZY. NO TVS ARE IN ANY OF THE ROOMS WHICH WAS NOT MENTIONED. ALSO OUR ROOM WAS NEVER CLEANED THE WHOLE TIME WE WERE THERE. THE GARBAGE CANS WERE OVER FLOWING AND NEVER EMPTIED. HAD TO GO DOWN STAIRS TO ASK FOR TOWELS BECAUSE THEY WERE NEVER RESTOCKED EVEN THOUGH WE PUT THE TOWELS IN THE AREA THAT WAS TOLD IF WE NEEDED NEW ONES. DON'T KNOW IF I'D STAY AGAIN BUT WE SHALL SEE

The staff was wonderful! The location was beautiful! Room was very comfortable.

Great location. Beautiful old home. View down to the ocean. Private beach. Breakfast was on the sunroom of the old house. Our cottage was charming. Plumbing was a little old, but everything worked very well.

Kids and wofe enjoyed the freahly baked popovers, fruit and juices for breakfast. We thoroughly enjoyed the view of the ocean and spent some time skipping stones on their beach. Great proximity ro Camden.

the room smelled moldy, musty. Odor did not abate even with winding open. Mice were running back and forth in the ceiling all night.

Nice location with beautiful water views. Fresh homemade popovers and muffins served on the porch were delicious and beautifully served.

Although the building we were in had very nice views, it was very run down. The bedroom was cheerful and nicely furnished with a new carpet. Unfortunately, the bathroom really needs to be gutted and redone. However there was plenty of hot water so the shower was fine. The most difficult thing was a very musty smell in the room. There is no air conditioning so everything in the room felt damp.

Breakfast was just enough, then warm popovers and muffins arrived. They even had gluten free toast.

The staff was so friendly it felt like we were with friends. Loved the location and setting. The complimentary breakfast of popovers, Maine blueberry muffins, fruit, tea and coffee served on the screened porch was delicious and delightful. I would definitely recommend it and go back again. Our room was in the Inn, there are also little cottages, a motel and other rooms closer to the beach. The walk to the beach was lovely past the gardens and right onto the beach.
