Beautiful property and quiet backyard

Our family of 10 had a great time in Brian's beautiful home. Loved the pool, hot tub, and sauna. Dining room table is spectacular—in size, graciousness, and view of the pool. Updated living room is lovely. Everyone enjoyed the reclining chairs in the TV room. Beds were comfortable. Only issue for me was that kitchen cupboards were overcrowded. Not enough space to access pots, trays, etc. easily.

Loved the outdoor setting, with large pool, hottub, fire pit and beautiful scenery. Kitchen was well stocked, including a pantry. The bedrooms were very comfortable and nicely furnished. The owner was very responsive and helped get us settled, checked in to make sure the pool was taken care of. We had a great week.

Many aspects of this house worked well for our small family reunion. The pool was a great place to play and cool off, the games room offered hours of entertainment, and the kitchen, dining, and movie areas accommodated us well. The main bedrooms were well appointed and comfortable, and one of our group slept on the sofa in the living room and found it comfy. There are a few aspects of this house that are not clear from the pictures, so I want to help future guests translate what they are seeing. One bedroom is over the games room. It has the chair lift going up the stairs in the photos. This room has no door so you can hear all the noise in the kitchen and dining room (so bring ear plugs). The kids room is listed as 3 beds, but there are 4 mattresses on the floor. As an update to the posting and previous reviews--the horses are now off-site. The owners were gracious and happy to arrange a visit and pony rides. The reason this is 4 stars instead of 5 is the kids room, which is an alcove off one bedroom (so the kids must go through that person's bedroom). The owners have assured me they are going to do a deep cleaning based on the condition we found it in. Be aware that the ceiling is very steep, there's limited electricity (overhead lights do not work, one floor lamp and only one power strip for plugging in anything), and it does have openings to the unfinished attic space.

Brian and Mel were very accommodating Pool was great and home had everything you needed. 4 Bedrooms were great. The bedroom listed for kids really wasn’t something to use for young children. Really just an additional space off a bedroom The horses were not on property anymore but Mel had us over to their home for horse rides We had 6 adults and 4 children under 4 years old and there was plenty of space Beautiful area

We gathered with extended family for a week and the house was fabulous for us. Brian was very helpful and generous. The house is great. We had an incredible time. Would go back again

Everything as good or better than expected. Pool great and plenty of rainy day activities as well. Kitchen very well equipped. Brian and Mariella were extremely hospitable, responsive, and pleasant to deal with! Highly recommended!

Great outdoor are for large groups. Heated pool and hot tub right outside home. Terrific large screen tv and surround sound. Upper bedroom for children has low A-frame type ceiling and not much room for luggage

The grounds were beautiful. The horses were wonderful. The house could have been cleaned more thoroughly. There was ongoing construction work - we had been warned about that. There was a leak in the master bath shower - the owner offered to have it fixed while we were there. In the middle of 1 night, an alarm went off, seemingly from a decorative small waterfall device. We could not figure out how to turn it off. We called and messaged the owner, who did not respond. It stopped after we had been up for about an hour. The next day, the owner was unapologetic. In communications after our stay, I suggested that the owner give us a partial refund - he did not respond.

Everything is exactly as you would expect it to be based off the descriptions and photos provided.

Great place to get a way for a long weekend, but beware, renters are responsible for caring for the horses on the property. also the lobster/steak dinner was not prepared as advertised and the boat option was not available due to COVID. All in all, a great stay but these are a few things I think other renters may want to be aware of.

My friends and I rented this home for a girls’ weekend. Couldn’t have picked a better house for what we needed and wanted. The home is clean, spacious, and well supplied. The property is gorgeous. There is multiple seating areas for big groups of people both indoors and outdoors. The hosts were so welcoming and easy to work with. Brian and Marielis made us a delicious dinner (for booking a 3 night stay). The horses on the property were an extra fun addition. We plan to be back again soon! Highly recommend.

This lovely home and property is perfect for a family gathering. Lots of space and privacy with a beautiful pool and hot tub. We loved our time here and the kids were delighted to help feed and care for the horses. Brian and Mariella were so kind and generous and provided lots of wonderful options for nearby day trips and restaurants. Highly recommended!!

We spent the weekend at Brian's property for my sister's bachelorette trip and it was perfect! The house was spacious with a ton of places to sleep, and the surround sound within the house and around the pool was amazing! There are also beautiful wineries around the area so if you are looking for a weekend getaway, look no further! Also, the horses are so cute :)

We had a great time relaxing at this property. It has many great amenities as listed---pool, hot tub, game room, surround sound music, movie theater-type media room, etc. There were a few days of stormy weather, so it was nice to have space and activities inside the house for both kids and adults to enjoy. Brian and Mariella prepared a lovely dinner for us upon arrival and showed us around the house. They live in the home, so there were a few quirks here and there in terms of getting things to work / how they work. Also, we moved a lot of their decorations (a lot of beautiful glass) out of the way for fear that the kids may accidentally break something. We fed Mariella's horses and let them out to graze daily, which the kids (and adults) really enjoyed! Initial communication was non-existent as none of my emails with questions were answered, which was a bit of a challenge from a planning perspective. However, upon arrival, the Winthrop's were very helpful and welcoming. All in all we really enjoyed our stay and would return. Thank you Brian and Mariella!

We had a fun time with friends and kids. The pool and hot tub were relaxing. The kids loved the horses. The grounds were beautiful, as was the town.

This property is perfect for families. Something for everyone to enjoy and plenty of space. We absolutely loved our stay and made so many great memories!! The owners are so easy to deal with and went out of their way to make sure we had an enjoyable vacation.

My small group had a nice time relaxing at Brian's place: cooking, soaking in the hot tub, enjoying movies on the giant TV, and feeding the horses. The posting is very accurate - the kitchen is super stocked, and Brian was extremely friendly. The area is very quiet - some nice hiking nearby - stores are 15/20 minutes away for the most part. Great spot to chill. The only detail missing in the posting was that the master bedroom has a water bed :-)

The kitchen works well for prepping large and small meals and has pretty much all the equipment and spices you would need to make a great meal. The owners are lovely and very responsive. Also, the sailboat trip and seafood dinner were definitely a highlight of our trip. If you are undecided between this property or a different property, the sailboat trip and dinner along with the extensive entertainment options on the property (86 inch TV, game room) really set this rental apart from the others.

I lived in Brian's home for a 6 week period and had an excellent stay. The property is as advertised and the area is beautiful. Brian and his wife Mariella are wonderful, kind, gracious hosts who went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable and well fed! This house is their primary residence so it comes with some quirks that may not be typical of a traditional rental. For example, the house is an active farm with the owners' horses in the back that you can help take care of! The owners sometimes have handymen on site helping manage the farm or restocking the hay. One thing I loved was how well stocked the pantry and kitchen are! I found those to be of immense use as I learned how to cook and became a pretty proficient chef in their excellent kitchen! The jacuzzi, pool, sauna, Japanese toilets, and awesome showers are also nice touches.

Great escape into the country. Quiet, cozy, with everything we needed!

We have a terrific time at Brian's and Mariella's house AND their offer to cook dinner (they own a catering business) was the highlight of our long weekend. Highly recommend this house and their lovely owners!

We had some trouble initially getting a response from the owners after using the message function on the app but once we got in touch and even more so in person they were great hosts. They got us some breakfast provisions for when we arrived and we also hired them to cook us dinner (for 7) for Saturday night. The dinner blew us away. We are from all over and a bit snobbish about restaurants but the dinner was really spectacular (and very reasonably priced). I highly recommend to anyone staying at the property. Our hosts were also lovely and affable. One note. The master bedroom has a water bed. Some people love, some people hate so thought worth noting.

Our stay at Brian’s home was great overall. Their home is beautiful and is great for entertaining. They have a beautiful kitchen and beautiful property. The horses are very friendly and their home feels very private. Their movie theater is a fun place to relax with friends and even play some board games. The bedrooms are nice sizes with their own bathrooms which is awesome. They offered whatever groceries they had in the fridge which was great for breakfast. Brian and his wife are very nice and welcoming people. Would definitely stay again. 

The property was so fantastic that our group of 9 could have never left and never be wanting for activities. There were so many spaces to retreat into as several groups and each space was also large enough to congregate. The horses were also so well behaved and a real delight to be around. The kitchen was a dream to cook in as were the several grills made available to us. We've already penciled in a trip to the house for next year, we enjoyed it so much. Brian was a great host with a beautiful thoughtful property. All in all, a lovely stay!

This house was lovely. Our weekend was very relaxing and Brian was extremely helpful! The sound system is awesome and we loved using the jacuzzi, fire pit (amazing, large and very pretty outdoor space to enjoy), and comfortable recliners in the tv/seating area where we played games. The bathrooms are renovated and very nice...the showers were amazing! We cooked the whole weekend in the extremely well equipped kitchen. We also enjoyed feeding the horses apples and carrots that Brian provided. Overall a great experience and a lovely home for a city escape! Thank you to Brian and family!

Very charming house with a great yard, pool and lots of personal space for a group. The house and it’s decorations have a lot of personality and character. Really nice kitchen and dining areas for group dining.

The house was spacious, had a great flow and a super sound system. Perfect for entertaining which we did quite alot because we were in the area for my son’s wedding so had planned different get togethers throughout the weekend. The bridal party was over the moon with the space, especially The pool, jacuzzi and outdoor space. The kitchen was well stocked. Brian and his wife could not have been more helpful. Would highly recommend for a family or group of people looking for a relaxing country weekend.

We had such a lovely stay at Brian's home! The house is gorgeous and spacious. The outdoor pool area was outstanding. We we there with two other couples as a weekend getaway from NYC and I couldn't have asked for a better place! I would choose this over the Hamptons any weekend!
