San Marco Roof Terrace is a very nice appartement in terms of roominess and how the overall thing once was intended to be. The location is perfect because directly in the center of San Marco, so everything of interest can easily be reached by foot, whilst wandering throught the narrow alleyways, over bridges, along palazzi, enjoying all of that one can expect from being in old Venice. Wifi und Klimaanlage funktionierten sehr gut, ebenso der Gasherd.

Furniture and equipment of the appartment was once of high value, and partly still is, but unfortunately nearly everything is broken or not working properly, starting with the elevator which can only be used for luggage. After that, everytime it was stairs-up 90 steps. In the appartment, which was only cleaned superficially (visible dust on beams etc.), some lightbulbs where not working, the host brought then some, so this was ok, but then: Bathroom1: shower moldy in the corners, door broken, no water pressure neither in the shower nor on the water tab, all showerheads blocked with lime. Bed room: Wardrobe completely broken and unusable, I complained about that and was advised to use some other storage room in the living room. Bed matress weared out and because of that far too soft. Lampshade missing, main light not working. Living room: the former TV was also broken and removed, replaced by the little one you can see on the pictures in the bed room. There was no possibility to open or close the upper blinds because the switch was not working properly. The fridge was working but only half power, so everything we put in there came out nearly luke warm. The dishwasher did not work properly since the controls could not be set. Bathroom2: Lightbulbs missing, same problem with the blocked showerheads and the water pressure here. Water tab very wobbly. Bath tub outlet blocked. I want to add here that we definitely are not overly demanding and also willing to just accept an error or something not being as expected/promised, but in this case there is a clearly visible negligence or disrespect against the customer, who, as in our case, payed 165 €/night for the place, so I expect that at least the basics are there and working, like the frigde or the dishwasher. We as customers and guests should not accept everything, not even when the location is in beautiful Venice.
