Reviewer Comments: We have been coming to Canaan Valley for 15+ years and have rented MANY homes all over the valley from Davis to Old Timberline to Winterset and everything in between. This is by far and away the cleanest home we’ve ever stayed in! It is clutter free, dust free, wonderfully comfy beds, great deck and a well supplied kitchen. As a mom of 3 kids (ages 10, 8, and 3), I can’t thank the owners enough. Their home truly made our stay a delight. Also, it’s so convenient to get to Timberline for skiing and the reopened Owl Market for afternoon coffees. This home is on our short list and can’t wait to come back again.

Hot water runs out quickly if everyone was taking showers, but also replenished in a short time-period. A/C was not working well, but it wasn't too hot outside, so it worked out. Hot tub was awesome! Would recommend the home if you are staying in the area.

Loved Mountain Getaway. This is our second year spending Thanksgiving there. The outside of the house had many updates this year including a brand new hot tub. It was really wonderful, house is cozy warm and very well equipped. It’s really nice that everyone had their own bedroom and bath. We will be back.

Property was centrally located to restaurants and many wonderful parks for sights and hiking . Blackwater falls is a must see. The home was comfortable for 6 adults and dogs. The kitchen was well equipped with utensils, cookware and serve ware . Beds were comfortable. Deck was nice with 2 large tables. We unfortunately weren’t able to use due to the weather. We did take advantage Of the hot tub , which was well maintained and clean. The fireplace was wonderful for our cool rainy weekend and an ample amount of wood was supplied. We would definitely rent this house again.

The house was wonderful, but we all agreed that having a bathroom for all the bedrooms was the best. The beds were comfortable and the large dining room table led for great game evenings.

I think our group was comfortable with the beds. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you’d need, with one or cabinets for food. Dinning room table was nice size. Large deck with a hot tub, used by some of the younger people in our group. Fire ring in yard. It was very quiet there. Bedrooms don’t have dressers but the closets are big. There is a grill available- but it was a charcoal grill, so leave time for the coals to heat up. There was a dog next door, but he stayed in his yard ( believe there was an electric fence) the dog that my friends brought had a marvelous time playing and the neighbors were very nice. Picking up the keys and dropping them off was a breeze.
