Everything was perfect, I was especially amazed by the friendliness and generosity of the staff,; they allowed me to borrow their bike, hiking poles and crampons for hiking the Pico volcano. My room was very nice, clean and comfortable. The best part was breakfast, which is just so amazing with homemade fruit salad, homemade muesli, a variety of very good bread and really delicious homemade jams, as well as fresh cheese and vegetables and a coffee from the expresso machine. They also offer you home baked cake and coffee or tea every afternoon. Place is also close to the center and close to some restaurants, but is very quiet and has a nice view on the beach.

There was nothing I wouldn't like.

Calma do Mar is a very cozy place to stay. The house is just 10min by foot to the ferry boat, clean, has useful and nice common areas (kitchen and a patio) with a beautiful view on Faial. Petra and the staff are really discrete and helpful, and the breakfasts are really good! Great choice!

Clean quiet house

All perfect - wide room and bathroom, nice garden, relaxing living room, cosy, very good breakfast choices (including homemade jams too). The staff is very helpful and friendly.

Toilet paper was only one in the room, soap in the shower was already finished when we arrived. I believe this do not usually happens.

The hosts (Nuno and Petra) are incredibly welcoming, helpful, and generous with their time and local knowledge. This makes a huge difference when visiting a place that is new. Having access to the kitchen and living room was also an added benefit. We had stormy weather for most of the three days on Pico, and it was nice to be able to make a cup of tea and relax in the common living area (with views that looked out to the sea). Excellent shower, easy parking, great location, friendly hosts, spectacular breakfast spread (with 9 different types of homemade marmalade!), and on-site laundry service (available for a fee) made our stay very enjoyable.

Nothing - we have travelled a lot, and Calma do Mar is very thoughtful in providing everything that a traveler could want or need when on the road. Many thanks!

Very lovely bed and breakfast. Newly renovated with much love for the detail. Breakfast was all fresh with local cheese and homemade jam and honey. It was delicious! We had a great stay and can recommand this place.

A B&B run by a local family, with the best service you can find. Amazing breakfast with local products, with very comfortable rooms. You feel welcome and at home the moment you pass through the door.

Everything. The hosts are so welcoming and helpful, the property is spacious and comfortable with amazing views from the dining room, and the breakfast offering is varied and full of local foods. It’s located in a quiet neighborhood but a quick walk to downtown.

I could walk to the beach in 1 minute, to town in 5-10 minutes. The kitchen and equipment was all well equipped and had everything I could ask for. breakfast was amazing!

Good location near the coast good Access to the Coastal Path. It was also possible to use the facilities in the kitchen excellent.. And profiting seperate towels for bathing good for those who didn't bring along Nice to have a cool dip at the end of the day

Great staff, very attentive and kind. They accomodated for my late check in, and made sure I was welcome. The effort that the hosts put into sustainability is a great example that other places should follow, from composting to using environmentally friendly soap, etc. The breakfast is great, and the location couldn't be better, just a minute from the sea :) also the breakfast room is a definite highlight! You can see both Pico and the sea/Faial. Would definitely choose Calma do Mar to stay again, I'm very grateful to have found it

Petra was amazing!! She was so prompt to answer any questions and helped us out when the weather cancelled a lot of our plans. She even helped book our return covid test! The location was fantastic, a short walk to downtown (restaurants, ferry terminal, etc). The breakfast selection was really great, a lot of local produce (jam, cheese, bread) and eggs to order. The B&B is very focused on being green, which was great to see.

There's no AC, so on the days it was especially humid (because it rained more than usual) it took a bit to cool down with the provided fan.

Location was perfect. Breakfast was really good, even very cute that there was honey from Nuno’s own bees. Bathroom was very big and had big mirrors. The hosts are also very nice and helpful. I would absolutely recommend others to stay at Calma del mar.
