This chalet worked out perfectly for our group of 5 adults on a ski trip. Tucked away on a quiet street, the bus stop is very close and provides easy access to the entire valley. From Grand Montets it is possible to ski back to the house. Covered parking is a plus. Maggie and Wendy are easy to contact and take great care of their guests!

We really appreciated this well appointed and perfectly located chateau. Quiet spot off the road, big kitchen, comfortable beds, plenty of hot water. It is truly charming and backs to a small pasture and the forest. You can walk into the village of Argentières on a beautiful trail, and access a number of trails for running and hiking. Excellent!

We just loved the stay at La Refuge. Everything about it. It was a work trip for my wife, which we turned into a family and friends vacation trip. The location near Chaminix yet far enough away to feel in the country was perfect for our needs. We loved having the horses next door, and relaxing in the Bain. We may very well look to do a repeat of the work trip for my wife next year, and if so, we know exactly where we'd like to stay again. Thanks Maggie, Wendy and Simon, for the great experience.

We’ve had a lovely stay, 11 people comfortable with room to spare, we’ve even managed to lose each other at times. The house is lovely, extremely well equipped in the kitchen and dining areas. The washing machine was a blessing too. We have all enjoyed the hot tub and sitting out admiring the view. A real gem of a property.

Visited the Chalet for a week ski trip with our friends and were we happy! First of all in the month or so leading up to the trip Maggie gave us a treasure trove of information regarding the area, including where to ski, where to eat, and all kinds of extra information above and beyond what I would consider normal! It really helped to get our initial planning for the trip figured out! The Chalet is perfect. The size is good for about 13 people comfortably. The kitchen and dining room make for a perfect place to unwind with a group dinner after a day on the slopes. The new hot tub is spectacular! We loved the smell of cedar as we relaxed on the tub after skiing. The view from the hot tub is spectacular. We loved looking out from the tub as a group on the Aguili du Midi and Mont Blanc and reminisce about our previous day skiing the Valle Blanche. Sitting in the sun while the weather was beautiful in Chamonix on the patio was also highly memorable. As for the location we loved being able to ski from the Grand Montets ski area directly to our Chalet and then cleaning up and hopping directly into the hot tub! Finally even though we mistakenly broke a mirror as one of our group was getting ready in the morning Maggie decided to waive the cost as she was keen that our experience remained perfect. All in all a wonderful and memorable experience. If/when we come back to the Chamonix valley we will definitely want to stay with Maggie again, and you will definitely want to as well!!!!

Our 2nd winter visit to this chalet. Everything is perfect! The brand new cedar hot tub was a big hit with the whole party (4x adults 4x kids). Loads of space for everyone to relax after a day skiing. The chalet is tucked away off the beaten track but all of the ski areas are easily accessible. GM is two minutes away on the bus and you can ski back to the garden from the home run. The kitchen has everything you need to cook in every night if you wanted to. All in all the perfect chalet in the best place in the world - in my opinion :-)

We rented the chalet with a group of friends for 4 days prior to a Haute Route trip. The chalet was a perfect place for our group of 8. The location was very convenient near Argentiere and a quick bus ride into Chamonix. Everything was very clean and in working order. The chalet was very well appointed with everything we could need. I think the best word to describe the chalet is charming. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I look forward to returning with my family for a another holiday. Communication leading up to our trip was also excellent.

Fabulous in summer and winter for hiking and skiing. Everything you need for an extended family or with friends, and charmingly appointed.

Brilliant chalet for families. Tucked away in Les Grassonnets but only a couple of minutes walk to the bus stop to Chamonix and all of the ski areas. You can actually ski straight home on the ski du fond from Grand Montets (some scooting for boarders). Loads of equipment in the kitchen to cook with, which we did most evenings. Clean and immaculately kept the children love bed hanging out in the playroom and sleeping in the loft. Lots of storage space outside for all of your equipment and space out the back to take the children sledging in the afternoon. You can also walk up to the chosalets night ready area and sit in the sun with a drink while they safely whizz up and down the lift. Basically a perfect week, we wouldn’t hesitate recommending staying here...

We had a great time in this chalet and enjoyed the experience from first contact to departure. Plenty of space, great facilities, house really does look like the pictures. We're trying to work out how we can come back soon.

Cosy and comfortable mountain chalet. Nice sitting area with couch and fireplace. Kitchen and dining area little bit crampy with full (13) occupation. We used one of the outdoor tables to extend the dining table, and that worked fine. Warm contact with Maggie, the owner, who gives a lot of usefull information about the area.

We have a very pleasant vacation in the Chalet . The house is big and there's enough for more than 9 persons . It's comfortable with the whole things we need for cooking and bedding . It's very easy to find the house with the address and GPS . The Owner Mrs. Neylor and her friend Wendy are very nice , easy to contact and pay attention for your staying in the house . They give all the details and have advices for retaurants , shopping , and for the bakery nearby the village . The house is well located , near the lift of Argentière ; The other ones are not too far , with your car you can go through the valley of Chamonix , and have access to others lifts to do a lot o hiking on the top with a marvellous view of the Mont Blanc . Thanks for all , and I recommand this house to others who want to visit the area of Chamonix in summer as we do , or a in winter time for skiing, it should be marvellous too !

Très joli chalet situé au pied de la montagne et proche des commerces et lieux de restauration. Jardin agréablement exposé au soleil avec vue sur le Mont-Blanc! Equipements et aménagement sont sans reproche. Seul petit bémol - mais nous sommes d'impardonnables accros! - l'absence de TV :-) La météo favorable nous a permis de profiter quasiment chaque jour de superbes randos dans les environs.

This was our second stay at the chalet and we had a wonderful time. The chalet is really comfortable with lot's of space. We appreciate that each kid had it's own room and we felt like home at the chalet. The kids enjoyed playing in the forest near the garden while we were enjoying a good glass of wine in front of the cheminey after a great days of skiing at the Grands Montets. The chalet is really close to the charming village of Argentière which makes it convenient for grocery shopping. The view from the upstairs room is just spectacular. In our opinion the chalet is one of the best deals in town.

Nous avons passé une semaine formidable dans le très joli chalet de Maggie dans lequel tout est pensé pour le bien être de ses hôtes ; Maggie a été très attentionnée et attentive à notre égard et ce fut un plaisir d'échanger avec elle; nous espérons revenir dans cet endroit magnifique pour de nouvelles vacances en famille;

We stayed at Le Refuge for two weeks in August. The chalet is spacious with nice bedrooms, two of which have a wonderful view down the valley towards Mont Blanc. The chalet is the end of a lane, with open space around it. The quality of the furniture and other facilities is very high, with access to a washing machine, tumble drier and WiFi. It was a pleasure to deal with the owner - I would highly recommend this chalet to anyone for a summer or winter holiday.

Nous conservons le souvenir d'un séjour réellement agréable. Le chalet, assez proche des lieux de ravitaillement, est conforme en tous points aux descriptif et photos. Situé dans un jardin au calme, il offre de jolies vues sur la campagne environnante et sur le Mont-Blanc. L'équipement est plus que complet et la literie confortable. Nos petits déjeuners sur la terrasse ensoleillée ont été un régal pour les yeux et les sens. Un endroit où nous aimerions certainement revenir!
