This property's location was ideal. Beds were fine, Canal and pool were wonderful. Easy access for boating. Could use better/more furnishings in living area - not enough seating for 6 or more people. Dining also tight for more than 6 people. Kitchen well equipped, but could use some dishcloths and house needs mats at entries for wiping sand and wet feet. We had a wonderful stay in Marathon. Would recommend this place.

place was very clean nice open floor plan. pool was very nice and clean. down stairs suite could use updating a bit but did not mater to use. we only used the 2 upstairs bedrooms . the downstairs worked good for us to store our fishing stuff and the extra fridge was a plus.

We specifically rented this property for the outside amenities of private, heated pool, tiki hut, and balcony/deck overlooking the canal. We were not disappointed - it was the best outdoor property we have stayed at! Inside was just fine for our needs - upstairs had two bedrooms and two bathrooms, downstairs was a small mother in law suite with mini kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. It was handy having a second fridge and freezer down by the pool! We would definitely stay again! Had a few minor things with the lights and dryer, but the property manager was able to send someone right away to fix them. Communication was fast and the property managers were lovely and very helpful.

The house is nice but slightly dated location is very good had a great time that will be our 3rd year staying there. So much of a great time we reserved it for next year.

House is in a good location but upon arrival the linens in the master bedroom upstairs smelled like they had been stored in a wet basement. I had to wash the linens before I could use them, they had the whole room smelling horrible. The locks on the doors had me feeling unsafe (one wouldn’t work). If you sat food or drink down in the kitchen for more than a minute or two it would be covered in small ants and some other kind of insects. My parents stayed in the lower half with pretty much no air conditioning. The drainage for the window unit downstairs was stopped up and leaking under the carport and my toddler niece slipped and fell (luckily she was not hurt). All in all Florida was great but the house was not.

Very spacious living area, nice pool although very deep for small children to play . We had a good time and would rented again but there are things that need attention. The AC unit in the downstairs room does not cool off the whole area. It gets very hot in there. Light bulbs were missing in many fixtures around the house (the property manager took care of that right away ) garbage disposal does not work , ceiling fan lights in a room upstairs don’t work, needs a few more kitchen towels, but as I said there are many little things that are very easy to fix and will make it a much better and comfortable stay. ,

Great house for family. This house worked well for our family of five. Nice shade from palm trees while in the oversized pool after boating. Good fish cleaning stateroom and had a bait/ fish freezer that was helpful. The yard needs maintenance, but other than that it was really good.

This place was amazing. The neighbors were amazing, the property manager was hands down the best! Huge place with plenty of space and beautiful views. Amazing time in a quaint community.

This house has all the amenities you need. The floorplan is great with the downstairs bedroom and kitchette - Makes it easy for two families, or someone needing more privacy, to travel together. It came with more paper goods and soap than many VRBO's. The fish cleaning station and bait freezer are helpful. The pool heat functions and we enjoyed the pool both day and night. We rented a boat and enjoyed keeping it right on the canal. Our favorite time was sunset when the manatees came right up to our bulkhead. So, it's a great property. Very functional, especially for people who are looking for price and floorplan. While the home was clean, it was not at all fancy. It could definitely use some cosmetic updating. Our biggest complaint was the gurgling in the pool that you could hear throughout the house - especially in the downstairs bedroom at night. The pool company said there was a leak in the pool and advised us to add water daily. The pool heater display didn't work either, so you have to guess on the temp. The master bath toilet started leaking badly at the tank base and I texted the management company. They didn't respond so I texted again four hours later. They said, "We got your message, Bonnie is calling a plumber. There are two other bathrooms in the meantime so please use those and keep the water off." It struck me that they didn't respond sooner, and that for what we paid, they weren't in any more hurry to allow us use of all 3 toilets. Don't expect any quick responses from them on anything was our experience.

We loved this place! The pool was great . The location to get to open water and fishing. Quiet neighborhood, park close by for kids, pizza place was yummy and great boutique next to it. The tiki bar at end of street was closed for cleaning, so we did not get to enjoy the convenience of that. Like others said this place needs some TLC, but we sure loved all it’s conveniences. Sunset park just down the road too, but we enjoyed the sunsets from the upper deck. We have a 2&7 year old, they found it fun to run around the whole house outside deck and have the dog chase them, even found a little “tree house” corner and set up toys. Oh and the sheets and bedding were so soft.

This was our second time to stay here. Wonderful! Great family time! Used Marathon bike rental and they were great! They deliver and pick up! Pool time was awesome!! We will be back!!

Lots of fun! This house was perfect for the 6 of us. Having the pool after a long day of being on water was refreshing! Walking distance to Havana Jacks for frozen drinks icing on the cake! Thank you!

We enjoyed our stay thoroughly! The house was clean and a perfect set up for our large family. We have two teenage sons and the downstairs apartment was perfect for them! Upstairs was very open, spacious and comfortable. The beds were very comfortable as well. They had most kitchen necessities, but the cutting board was broken into pieces and I couldn’t find another, but we made adjustments (if you’re picky bring your own). The only downfall is the docking area for the boat. We have a 24 ft boat that is new and we keep very clean. Unfortunately the boat lift is not for guest use, which would have been a huge help and relieved a little stress. We had to tie the boat up and put bumpers out so the sides didn’t hit the dock and the barnacles. Additionally, during low tide it was almost impossible for my parents to get off the boat and onto the dock, a ladder is definitely needed. Overall it was a great stay and if the dock issue was resolved we would most definitely stay again!

The property is in a great location with a big pool. The living areas are big and comfortable. The place just needs some TLC. The pool area was dirty like it hadn’t been used in a while. They had old lounge chairs just laying outside the pool area instead of throwing them away. The house itself could use some sprucing up also. They tried to paint the hand rails before we got there you could tell since the paint was on the leaves of the plants. Overall we had a great time at the property.

We have stayed at this property several other times. The pool took a pretty hard blow from the hurricane and needs some work. However, it wasn't anything we couldn't live with. Over all good stay.

Bonnie was amazing and the welcome basket was fantastic for our needs!! Loved the house. Amenities were pretty good. Obviously upstairs has the majority of them. AC not as strong in kitchenette downstairs but still very comfortable. Would stay here again for sure.

Great house and location within a 5 minute boat ride to the Atlantic. The kitchen and living area are very spacious, beds were extremely comfortable and the air conditioner worked great. The canal traffic was exceptionally quiet and we enjoyed that. Has a nice touch if you fish a lot with a commercial grade ice machine. I would highly recommend this house, would even stay at it again considering we vacation in Marathon every year for Mini lobster season.

This was our first year at the Key Lime House and it will not be our last. We visited with our 3 children who are 16, 22, and 24 years old. The house is well appointed with beautiful furnishings, luxury bedding, plenty of bath and beach towels and a well stocked kitchen with all of the cookware and refrigerator space you need. The outside of the house provides great areas for seating. We loved the shaded seating area with tropical foliage and cooling ceiling fans. The first night we floated around in the pool and looked at the stars. We rented a 22' boat and docked it behind the house. The location was easy access to the Gulf via Vaca Cut which was about 10 mins. away. The ocean access was 5 minutes away. We went snorkeling , fishing and diving every day and saw beautiful fish off of Sombrero Reef (20 min. boat ride) and caught lots of fish for dinner. The icemaker art the house was an added bonus as well as the fish cleaning station right at the boat slip. The neighborhood is quiet and there are lots of great walking/running paths without going on to the main road. Grocery store/pharmacy etc. only a 10 minute drive. Sombrero Beach only 15 mins. away. We are thankful the owner has allowed her home to be rented. We will cherish the great family memories of our stay at the Key Lime House.

We had beautiful weather for our vacation at the Key Lime House. It was a family reunion so the three bedroom home with the private unit downstairs worked perfectly! The pool was wonderful and the location great. The home was very tastefully furnished, had all the kitchen necessities we needed, and plenty of room. The only complaint was that the ice machine outside was not working properly so we had to buy ice to take with us on our daily fishing trips. We told the rental agent so I'm sure it is operational now. The fish cleaning table and bait freezer were well used during our stay! We highly recommend the Key Lime House!

We have rented many properties though VRBO for many years. This is an excellent property. Nicely furnished, good kitchen, large bedrooms with separate bathrooms as well as large closets. Lots and lots of towels with a great washer and dryer to keep everything clean. Nice pool and good barbecue area with a very good Q for a rental. We really enjoyed the fact the home was within walking distance (1/2 block) to a great beachfront tiki bar and restaurant. We had a great fun day watching the Super Bowl there. Also the best key lime pie I have ever had (and I have had 100's) was at Sharkies just a few blocks away. Very relaxing stay with good friends and family very much enhanced by a beautiful home. A special thank you to Bonnie from the management company who was great with communications regarding everything.

Four of us stayed for the week and it was outstanding. Clean, great location, and wife absolutely loved it.

We will consider going back to this rental next year. Location was perfect. Private Pool was fabulous. We could dock our boat right outside of the house and easy access to Atlantic from the canal. The house had everything we could want. Walking distance to local bars and restaurants. Bonnie was great to deal with. She went above and beyond just to insure that we had a perfect vacation. We rented the Key Lime House in mid-March 2014 and truly enjoyed our stay. Key Colony Beach has a very "gated community" feel to it which my wife appreciated. The house exceeded our expectations. I felt more like I was staying at a friend's well appointed vacation home than a traditional rental property. The place was very clean, the furniture was in great shape (mostly leather), and had appliances that were all high end (including the grill by the pool) that worked well. We also rented a 20' boat and found the dockage perfect and very convenient and with easy ocean access. The neighborhood seemed to be mostly owner occupied and very quiet. The pool was clean and refreshing (we opted not to heat it and it was fine). We'd also strongly recommend the happy hour at Sparky's which is a very short drive away.
