We were a group of 22 family from USA, New Zealand, Australia and UK and we had the most fabulous holiday. The property is very well equipped and was spotlessly clean. We have several cooks in the family and they found the 2 kitchens to be well fitted and equipped. Timo welcomed us and was helpful with any queries we had, as was Susanna with her online replies to questions prior to the visit. She sent us a floor plan of the bedrooms which helped us decide on who went where. The pool, games room and bar were all well used and appreciated, especially having the outside deck to the pub in the garden. There were plenty of pool "toys", noodles etc. All bedrooms and bathrooms were well fitted and beds really comfortable. Would point out for future guests that the stairs to the 3-bed room on the first floor are very steep and only suitable for mobile people to get up! Would love to go back again so will have to find an excuse to get everyone together again. Thank you for helping us have a perfect holiday.

Lovely thatch cottage ideally situated for all the attractions that Dorset has to offer. Spacious accommodation and fantastic pool and hot tub. Definitely recommend.

Couldn't have asked for more. All rooms were beautiful, well decorated and equipped. Timo, the property manager was always quick to reply to any messages and assist with queries.

My 20 guests + 6 dogs and I had the best time at The Thatch Cottage. The house was perfect for our big group. We had lovely weather and were able to enjoy the garden, the tennis table, the pool side and lovely walks and activities minutes away from the cottage. Not to mention the cozy evenings by the fireplace! Timo and Gabi were absolute superstars, tending the bar and helping us in the kitchen. The private pub in the garden is such a bonus and a nice touch. I couldn't recommend this place and hosts enough. Thanks a million times again Timo & co

Celebrating my 40th with Friends and Family. Very lucky with the weather, pool was a lovely temperature, hot tube was very relaxing, kitchen was very well organised, clean and spacious for 20 people. 100% recommended

Just the most wonderful villa complex. Its own little world: pool, jacuzzi, giant communal kitchen and dining area, its own pub, pool table, table tennis - the list goes on. Timo was so helpful and very responsive. I booked for the annual Spring Cottage trip for me and my 18 friends (and 3 children) and it was the best in its 15 yesr history.

This was our second visit and it did not disappoint. The Thatch Cottage is a lovely location to relax with friends for a weekend of birthday celebrations. The games room, pub and hot tub kept us occupied. The kitchen was well equipped and a great social space to gather in. The sitting room is also laid out to be a cosy social space. There were enough bedrooms for 13 adults to sleep comfortably with 6 being ensuite. We would definitely recommend and so would our guests.

We had a great time, the house has everything for all ages, and well equipped for large groups. Good location to the new forest and the south coast. We will def be back in the future.

This property is truly incredible. We were a mixed-age hen party of 21, and everyone was completely blown away by the charm and practicality of the house. It’s huge, it’s quirky, every little detail has been thought of - we cam laden with spare essentials (dishwasher tablets, kitchen roll etc) but we needn’t have bothered. Everything we could possibly need was there. Timo was exceptionally helpful and responsive to any issues, and walking in to roaring fires on a cold February day was such a lovely touch. Could not have asked for a better house for a large group, just sad we didn’t come in summer! We hope to find reason to come back soon, and I’m sure there will be bookings from the other hens as well! Thank you so much

We spent a winter weekend at this beautiful and comfortable house next to the new forest. Despite the very wet weather, we managed a couple of walks, one where we saw wild horses and gorgeous countryside. Susanna & Steven are very flexible and informative hosts and Timo, their property manager, was always very helpful and readily contactable if there were questions that needed answering. It's a very cosy house with two fully functioning fire places which kept the house nice and snug. Two fully equipped kitchens, including a Nespresso machine which we weren't expecting so was a nice surprise. All in all, a very memorable weekend and would highly recommend it to either a few families together or to a large group of family and friends. Maybe we'll come back some day in the summer so we can experience the lovely pool area.

I’m he whole experience was better than I could have hoped for, beautiful house soooo much space. I am glad n end of love fe treatment and wanted to spend New Year’s Eve with all my family in one place and could not of chosen a better place to do it thank you so very much x

We housed our entire family (ages 4 to 87) for a wonderful Christmas week. Even though we couldn’t enjoy the pool (winter) everything worked a treat. Timo was always on hand to answer a question or provide assistance (with a smile). I would love to see how it works in the summer. Thank you for accommodating us.

Our group of 17 loved the property, we particularly liked the lounge area and the big kitchen. The Christmas trees and wood burners made for a really cosy setting. The bar and games room were great fun. Timo was fantastic and Luigi and Jackie were really lovely too - they cooked us a great meal. It’s worth noting that in our opinion, there are 2 rooms that may not be suitable for some adults as one had bunk beds and one was up a steep vertical staircase. Overall we had a brilliant time.

Great space for a family party.

We had a party of 17 family members plus 2 dogs. Age range 14-85. It was so lovely to be welcomed with a roaring fire. The living spaces are great and a good size. Bedrooms good too. A few bits missing but rectified straight away. Thank you, hopefully we’ll be back when it’s warmer to try the pool.

Thatch Cottage is a real find. Beautifully designed and well equipped for large groups with multi-function areas to enjoy. From an onsite pub, to separate games room, outdoor pool and hot tub there are many facilities to enjoy onsite. We really enjoyed our stay and will look to return during the less inclement weather months to enjoy the experience from a different perspective. The hosts were welcoming, friendly and attentive making it seamless from start to finish. Look forward to returning in the future.

Lovely property

Perfect sized property for a large mixed work group. Pool table, swimming pool, hot tub and a stocked bar! everything our group wanted was here in one place. the hosts were lovely and accommodating with regards to check in and check out times. Gent onsite gave us the initial tour (needed as this is a decent sized property for large groups). Overall a really good stay - couldn't have been better.

What a beautiful thatch cottage. Very clean, tidy with all the necessities you would need. We were met the moment we turned up and shown round. There wasn’t anything to be unhappy about. Everyone that stayed were happy with their rooms. The pool was surprisingly warm and the hot tub a perfect touch for the evening. We were spoilt with the weather and enjoyed the outside area. I can’t recommend this highly enough. We will definitely be going back one day. Thank you Susanna and Steven for letting us rent and thank you to Timo for looking after us.

Wonderful weekend celebrating my 70tth birthday with my family everything was perfect even the weather. Plenty to do for all ages in our group a beautiful house , very comfortable and lovely warm pool what more could you ask for highly recommended

Can’t recommend Thatch Cottage enough! We were celebrating our Golden Wedding with our four children, partners and six grandchildren (17 in all) plus three dogs. The pool and jacuzzi were very much a favourite of the children as well as the adults which was situated in a courtyard around the bedrooms and dining facilities. The Gaming Room (partially above the kitchen) was a particular favourite with the younger members of the family. The large garden had a billiards room, table tennis, table top football and darts along with football goal and badminton net. The dogs were in doggy heaven with so much space to run around in. Although there were restaurants nearby which were highly recommended, we chose to use the BBQ most nights and eat in to cater for the various dietary requirements of the group. We also had a Chinese takeaway delivered one evening. The cottage had all the necessary crockery & cutlery required and the long dining table in the main kitchen was constantly in use. There were two ovens in the main kitchen and large gas stove in the smaller kitchen, which we tended not to use that much apart from the fridge/freezer which was larger than the one in the main kitchen. Timo who greeted us was most helpful and showed us around when we arrived. He was easily reached for any queries and replied within minutes. Some of us stayed on site for the whole week as we were already familiar with the area, while others ventured out to the coast and Moor Valley Park nearby. We were very lucky to have a glorious sunny week with no rain and were sad to be leaving when we did.

Well equipped house. Great pool and hot tub, Kids and adults alike loved the games room. Garden is big and secure. Good location for beach.

We had the most amazing time , the pool was entertainment for everyone , hot tub was amazing. Facilities were brilliant everything you needed was available. Timo was extremely helpful . Would recommend to anyone and would definitely come back again .

We are a family of 16 and Thatch Cottage was perfect for us. The pool area was amazing with plenty of shade. The large grounds were great for activities and the pool/ping pong & darts were a great source of entertainment. Lots of seating for everyone inside & out. We had the best time here and would thoroughly recommend.

The property was great for our dog's. Never had to worry about them as the property is well fenced and lots of room for them to play. The pool was warm as there are solar panels heating the water. The hot tub could fit 8 people but usually only 6 would use at a time. The kitchens were both well equipped. We loved the big table in big kitchen as we could all sit together. We had a BBQ, and ate outside. The weather was hot and sunny the whole week we stayed. There are shops very close by, and pubs with in walking distance called the 3 Legged Cross. Supermarkets close by as well. Timo was very accommodating , nothing was a problem if we needed him. The House was very clean. The cottage bedroom's could do with black out curtains for summer month's as its day light at 4.30am. The towels were small, if you like big towels take your own. There was plenty of toilet paper and kitchen towels. You can light a fire. We did one night in the lounge, set of the smoke alarm. But once we sorted that it was lovely. We really enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

The general condition of the property was very good but several of the bedrooms were a little tired and in need of renovation. Several of the bed mattresses are now of an age where they are very firm and uncomfortable as a result. In addition, one of the beds appears to be a reduced size double and is a little small for 2 adults.

Been waiting for this since we booked in 2019 but due to COVID we’ve had to cancel until 2022. The Property was plenty big enough for the whole family 9 Adults + 7 Grandchildren. They the Grandchildren of All ages Loved the Pool, along with the Hot Tub. Property was clean and had everything we All needed. Timo was always on hand should we need him, which we did. The outside back garden was great for the 3 dogs we had. They were safe with plenty of room to run or be chased by the children. The older Grandchildren if not Pool side were on the X Box. Everyone managed trips out. A good place to eat ( needs booking) is The Old Inn in Holt. Bit expensive but the food was 1st class and plenty of it. The children also enjoyed the Pool room with a Dart board too. The only thing which we had trouble with is WiFi. Not very good around the House. Main Kitchen Great.

Outstanding property in every respect. Timo was a brilliant host.

Property was easy to find, we had good communications from Timo, the property manager, pre-arrival and he was there to welcome us when we arrived. We had a comprehensive tour of the property and what a fantastic place it is. All the facilities were as described, the pool was a lovely temperature even though it was early May and the hot-tub was hot. After we checked in we found a couple of the rooms that were too hot and the windows were locked. Timo came back within a few minutes, turned the heating off and unlocked the windows. All in all a fantastic stay - we have been doing a golf tour for the past 30 years and this is definitely one of the best properties we’ve stayed in. Minor pieces of feedback we would make - some of the rooms are really cramped for all adult parties and access is via some short but steep staircases. The big TVs are great but access to HDMI ports are difficult if you want to plug in your own equipment. Thank you for a brilliant break and Timo for his friendly and quick service.
