We had a wonderful stay at the property. Ours hosts Krysia and Russell were incredibly helpful, even putting out our washing when it had finished in the machine. The property was exactly as described in a lovley quiet area with lovely views. Would recommend anyone to stay here and definitely make sure you hire a car

This holiday rental is a beautiful gem hidden away, but within easy reach of local amenities. Although Krysia, the host, lives next door on site, she is the perfect hostess and you are left to enjoy your holiday without intrusion. She is also extremely kind and helpful should you have any questions (such as how to wrap a large oversized metal tree of life for transport! We got it home, Krysia!!). We did not hire a car but had no real issues using the Uber app to order taxis. Although 15 mins from Faro there is no plane noise. Highly recommend this as a place to stay. We are already saving up, to return again 🙂

Perfect for a relaxing holiday. The Villa had everything you need and the pool area was lovely with stunning views to the sea. Would definitely recommend.

We had a pleasant relaxing break at this beautiful property. It has lovely homely feel with breathtaking views and was perfect for our needs. Krysia was the perfect host and an excellent source for local information. We have stayed in this area before and would not hesitate to return to this property. We can only recommend this place on earth, we had a wonderful week both at the house, pool and small excursions to different beaches and islands. The house was so beautiful with a breathtaking view, clean and calm. We spent some days just hanging around, swimming in the pool, playing table tennis and eating great food and drinking good wine. Our host Keysia helped us with tips and everyrhing we needed, she is just lovely!!

Das Haus war besonders geschmackvoll und mit Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Die Vermieter waren sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir haben uns rundum wohl gefühlt. Schöner Strand in der Nähe (Quinta do Lagos) - aber auch am Pool im hübschen Garten kann man sich herrlich erholen:-). Toller Italiener (La Piazza) im Dorf Santa Barbara de Nexe und super Bäcker. Sehr gute Fischrestaurants in der Nähe.

We really enjoyed our stay at the house of Krysia. The location on top of the hill was splendid with marvellous view over the country and in the end the sea. The pool is so great, big, clean and warm water, our 2 boys and us enjoyed to spend time there. The house is also nice, charming and well equipped with everything we needed. Nice shower, airco, 2 large bedrooms and plenty of kitchen tools. You definitely need a car, but as we were visiting the Algarve for the first time, the location was a great starting point. We would surely recommend!

Just stayed here for 10days and loved every moment. The owners are fantastic and live in an adjacent property to the villa but you’ll never see them unless you want help/advice. It’s safe to say you’ll need a car but while the villa feels remote and very peaceful you’re only actually 5mins from the closest village and supermarket. The pool area is delightful and gets all day sun. I have to say the early evening 4-6pm ( first week in September) being the closest to perfect of anywhere I have ever stayed! Thank you Krysia for a wonderful holiday.

Everything was perfect about our recent holiday. House is great, swimming pool was a dream, Krysia was a fantastic host. We all had a fabulous time. I'm sure we will be back!

We stayed for a week and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The view from the pool was wonderful and we had it to ourselves. The house was clean and and had all the facilities you would want and more. We arrived late in the day and so Krysia kindly bought some provisions for us to tide us over the first night and morning. Would highly recommend.

We loved our stay in Casa Loueira, it was much better in real life than the photos suggested, and we expected it to be really nice! Beautiful courtyard when you arrive in front of the house, with an old bench, a sundial and a big fig tree in the middle, so pretty and welcoming, and inside we were delighted with every room, and every little terrace with seating, there are lots of places to relax, and a lovely upstairs terrace with dining table and chairs near the kitchen with trees and lovely views all round. The casa was furnished simply and beautifully, with lovely tiles, wall hangings and rugs everywhere, very spacious and old wooden shutters on all the windows. Bathrooms and showers were great, and the living room is very comfortable and there is a great big smart TV with netflix etc available to sign in to. There is a little stone path down to the large lovely pool with fantastic views to the sea over the hills, it is very clean and there are loungers and parasols, and it is nice and private in the pool and beside it. We loved it, and definitely want to come back, it is so peaceful and laid back, and we also loved Fatcat who kept us company and amused us by doing somersaults when stroked. We enjoyed the outdoor pool table and bbq and beds are comfy. We love the area, we have stayed nearby often, so know where to go to eat, there are nice restaurants nearby. The local people are friendly and helpful. Thanks so much Krysia, we would love to come back.

This property is really nice, the location is convenient too. It's separate from the owners house with it's own access and terrace and patio. The pool and outdoor areas are beautiful and private. The owners are friendly and helpful, completely unobtrusive. Probably best to hire a car to get around but shops for groceries/essentials and restaurants are within a mile or two, easily walkable. All in all, very good, recommended.

Adorable maison typique, très joliment décorée, avec un billard extérieur à l'ombrelles arbres, et une magnifique piscine avec une vue extraordinaire. Nous étions si bien dans cette maison avec sa jolie terrasse pour les repas, que nous y avons passé beaucoup de temps, pour nous détendre. Krysia est charmante et à votre disposition pour tout renseignement. C'est un excellent point de chute pour visiter l'arrière-pays ou les plages plus au sud sans être dans les endroits touristiques bondés de monde en Août.

We have just returned from a wonderful two week stay at this beautiful house in the hills above Santa Barbara De Nexe. We were warmly welcomed by Krysia and Russell who were then on hand to help us with anything we needed but were never intrusive. Not that we needed anything as the accommodation and facilities are top notch! There was everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. The gardens are pretty and the pool was wonderful, largest pool we've ever had at a villa and as for the view from the pool area.........just magnificent!! Krysia is the font of all knowledge of the local area and places to see and restaurants to eat at so do take her advice! Sadly the weather was not the best for the first week but the second it was fabulous and the pool got a lot of use. In summary we had one of the best villa holidays we have ever had. So much so that before we left we booked with Krysia for the same two weeks next year, can't give a better recommendation than that!!

This villa "Does what it says on the tin"! The villa is away from all the hussle & bussle of the Algarve but within reach by car if you wanted it. Located in the hills north of Faro, it is a quiet & rural area. The villa is well furnished with everything you need & the pool is fantastic. We spent most of the holiday relaxing around the pool. The town of Santa Barbara De Nexe is a 2Km walk away & has shops/pubs/cafes/resturants. There is also a small grocery shop & cafe a short walk away. We did not hire a car for this holiday. Krysia & Russell, who live next door, kept themselves to themselves but were very helpful should we have any questions or want to go anywhere. We would highly recommend this villa if you wanted to relax!

Das Haus war fantastisch! Wir haben uns total wohl gefühlt und wären am liebsten direkt dort geblieben. Wir waren zu zweit und hatten dementsprechend viel Platz. Man würde sich aber auch nicht auf die Nerven gehen, wenn man zu viert anreist. Das Haus und das Gelände sind groß. Es war alles sauber, gut ausgestattet und urig eingerichtet und der Pool war natürlich das Highlight. Man hat eine fantastische Aussicht, kann super entspannen. Die Fotos auf der Website sind nicht geschönt, sondern entsprechen genau dem, was einen erwartet. Die Vermieter sind im Vorfeld und vor Ort unheimlich nett und immer hilfsbereit und offen gewesen. Wenn man die Algarve erkunden will - was sich auf jedenfall lohnt - sollte man einen Mietwagen mieten und Tagesausflüge machen. Das Haus liegt in den Bergen. Ohne Auto kommt man da bestimmt auch hin, aber die Busse fahren selten, daher sollte man unbedingt mit einem Auto anreisen. Wir würden sofort wieder hinfahren!

We have been holidaying in the Algarve for many years but haven’t found anywhere we love as much as Loureiro, so much so we have been back 3 times! The villa is set in a beautiful and peaceful location which has a really rural feel to it and yet is only a couple of minutes drive from the nearby village of Santa Barbara de Nexe. The fig and damson trees in the courtyard were a nice surprise on arrival and we enjoyed ‘picking our own’ for the duration of our stay. Both the bedrooms are of a very good size and we found the air-conditioning to be most welcome, especially during the summer months when the weather is fabulous. A fantastic feature is the 2 bathrooms which proved very useful when getting ready to go out for the evening as we have two girls in the family! Upstairs is a comfortable lounge and you can while away the hours watching the local birdlife flitting about the treetops through the shuttered windows. The kitchen is well equipped and we found it to be perfect for making picnics to take to the pool with us. It is also well placed to make alfresco eating on the roof terrace a stress free affair – perfect for breakfast. Although there are plenty of excellent restaurants in and around Santa Barbara we also liked to make use of the BBQ at the house and dine on the roof terrace in the evenings as well. Watching the sun go down and the stars come out, with a glass of wine in hand, is the perfect end to the day. The pool is a short walk through the lovely gardens and is of a great size, our daughter would have spent the whole day playing in the pool if she could. There are plenty of sun loungers available so it’s great for big kids as well as the little ones! The view from the pool out to the coast is simply stunning and worth booking for alone. The village of Santa Barbara is well equipped with supermarket, bank, post office, pharmacy, bars and café’s but we also really enjoyed the fact that there are a couple of small stores and bars within walking distance of the house. It’s very relaxing to sit, with a drink or an ice-cream, and watch the world go by – just as the locals do. Krysia, the owner, is charming and has a wealth of knowledge about the local area which she will happily share with you. We found her to be very friendly and helpful, she even lent us books to read during our stay. All in all Loureiro is to be highly recommended, it really is the perfect holiday and we can’t wait to go back.

Firstly, let me start by saying what a lovely place to stay this is. Krysia and Russell (the owners) will do everything they can to ensure your stay is as relaxing as possible. Our family has stayed at this property now for the last 5 years and have had a wonderful time on each occasion. We love the peace and quiet and how relaxing it is to stay here. The pool is huge and you get the sun all day. A well placed tree gives the perfect shade when the need arises. Views from the pool area and on the terrace are great. You can see all the way to the coast. The villa itself has everything you need and if you’re like us, you’ll spend most of your time outside anyway. A car is definitely needed and there are easy links to motorways for trips to the beach. Lots of local restaurants within easy reach with the car and a large supermarket is close by. Take advantage of Krysia & Russell’s local knowledge for the lesser known treats that you wouldn’t find without them. We’ll be back again this year!
