This was my second stay at SugarTop. I love the views and the convenience. Close to everything. The condo is perfect for friends or family since it has a split plan. Nice sized kitchen and living/dining area. The security of the property is a big plus for me.

It’s a gorgeous condo and it feels like home. I live the décorations and the owner thought everything someone would need of to make the stay enjoyable. The view is absolutely stunning.

The views from the balcony were amazing. It was very clean and very close to the ski resort. It was not a big problem for us, but keep in mind you will most likely have to take a shuttle to your vehicle if you stay during ski season. We highly recommend staying here.

Property was clean. All appliances worked. The view from the balcony is definitely the best part. Property owner was a pleasure to communicate with. Would definitely stay here again.

We had reservations for three nights and only stayed two nights because we had no TV. The owner would not refund any payment--NO TV--we did have one awful channel

The accommodations were commendable! I was in a power chair, and everything was very accessible. The staff were so accommodating and very engaging. We will definitely plan another trip here from Northern Minnesota in the near future! Thank you for everything!

We had a very nice stay in Sugar Mountain. Very convenient to Banner Elk, Boone and even Blowing Rock. The condo had everything we needed for the weekend. Views were spectacular, even when waking up this morning with our head literally in the clouds!

What a wonderful condo to stay at for the 4th of July week! The most spectacular display of fireworks right outside our balcony and all around us. We probably saw 6 different displays from all over because we were so high on the mountain. The condo is beautifully decorated and maintained; we had everything we could ever want for a comfortable and relaxing stay. We will be back!

Was able to go to Boone, blowing rock, and newland. Wherever you want to go is not far away. Great view from balcony!

We loved everything about this condo! The owner put so much thought into providing everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. Super clean and comfortable. Beautiful views from the balcony and bedroom windows. Loved the pool and hot tub! Easy check in and nice staff. The shuttle to and from the parking was great and the drivers so helpful and friendly. Food Lion close by. Bella’s Italian Restaurant was top notch.

In Greek mythology, Atlas bore the weight of the heavens on his shoulders, but you’ll have no such chore at Elmer and Regina Purkey’s Atlas Trace. In fact, you’ll have not a care in the world at this delightfully themed retro unit. The view of Grandfather Mountain is spectacular in the sunshine, and even when you’re socked in by the clouds, there’s still a mystical feel to the mist. The hosts have thought of every amenity, and you’re near spring-summer excursions like the Grandfather swinging bridge, Linville Falls hiking trails, and Roan Mountain State Park. A top-floor, top-shelf abode.

We truly enjoyed the stay at Elmer’s and Regina’s condo. It had everything we needed, gorges views, and was close to the Sugar Mountain slopes. We will be coming back next ski session.

We stayed two nights and loved the place! The rest is in the title. Will likely book again. It was a busy weekend for skiing, so if you can you may want to book during the week to avoid the large crowds.

Such a great property. You feel at home when you step into the door but then you see the view! The sunrise will not be forgotten. Close to Sugar Mountain and great shuttle system. We will be back.

We Experienced the winter storm here, -5degrees which made the views and experience a bonus. Check in process requires patience if they are busy. Also patience for the shuttle is required to your vehicle when you come and go. It’s all part of the experience. The place was great and we stayed warm inside. The only mix up we came into was the shuttle to the snow tubing place. We had tickets to Hawksnest tubing but the shuttle we took from the resort only goes to the Sugar Mountain snow tubing and ski resort which we did not realize. For future guest, drive to Hawksnest and shuttle to sugar mountain tubing. Two nice wineries in the area too. Hope we get a chance to go again!

My wife and I stayed here for the weekend to celebrate our 15th anniversary. The condo felt very welcoming when we got there and we loved spending the weekend there. As nice as the pictures from the balcony are they really don't compare to seeing it in person. We've already talked about coming back for a ski trip.

Our stay at Sugartop was wonderful! All communication with the owners was prompt, efficient and very friendly. The location was convenient to all surrounding activities and restaurants with a spectacular mountain top view. The condo was extremely clean and well-equipped, and the pool was perfect for our kids. We will definitely be back!

This is our second time booking at atlas trace. We love it here. We were a little sad about the fog that came in but it was no fault of the property. Everything is clean and beautifully decorated. We will try again next year!

The couch and bed are a little worn out, but otherwise comfortable stay
We were disappointed that the fireplace cannot be used during high winds which I assume is quite often on top of the mountain

The unit itself was great. The indoor pool was a great selling point except the tile around the pool is extremely slippery. And the amount of chlorine used was excruciating on our eyes and breathing. Also, the check in process at the guard gate took 45 minutes because of how many people were checking in and only allowing one car up at a time to unload. Then there was no parking allowed in the upper two guest lots even though they stayed empty the whole time. We had to trek down to the lower lots every time and wait on the shuttle to go to/from the building itself. The shuttle was pretty timely and the driver was very personable. Overall the experience with the unit was enjoyable but parking was annoying.
