Ideal location to explore the area, great views of the harbour and plenty big enough to swallow 16 people. Would definitely recommend, only thing that let us down was the weather!

Perfect accomodation for our three families and friends. Spacious, great views of the harbour and facilities to keep both children and adults entertained in several living areas.

We had 14 of us staying over the week including 12 20 to 22 year olds who loved the house not just for its space and views but also its proximity to swimming beaches, Wetherspoons pub, crazy golf, and the bigger beach for beach cricket at Woollacombe. Another wonderful week in Ilfracombe

The setting and views from this property are great as is the communal space available. The kitchen area is similarly spacious and very well equipped. The property manager was very helpful and responsive and happily arranged an earlier check in time for our group. That all said, for the price paid the property is very tired and desperately needs some urgent TLC. The carpets and furniture need replacing, the walls and woodwork redecorating and new curtains are a must (they do not cut out the daylight and in several bedrooms are held up by sticky tape. For the price paid we have stayed in similarly impressive locations with much superior quality. We did enjoy the break but it was only a short break. Any longer the property would have felt a compromise.

Absolutely loved staying at the Big Sea House! Hugely accommodating for such a large group with amazing views. The only downside is that there weren't any cleaning supplies to help us stay on top of tidying. Aside from this, it was the perfect property for a large group and we all had a fun and relaxing time! This is the perfect place to stay for a big family group -- we were 15. The location is spectacular (at least for us townies!) with view across the harbour. The 'ballroom' is huge. The kitchen is the best equipped we have come across, with plenty of space for us all to pitch in with preparations. Easy communication with Mike (manager). No hesitation in recommending!

Great house and fantastic location. Perfect for our family gathering of 17. The kids loved all the toys and games. We used the ballroom for a big catered meal one night and it was ideal.

This was our 2nd trip here and we loved it! Those views are just wonderful! It's perfect for us with that big lounge overlooking the sea!

Absolutely stunning views and location and the house suited us so well with the amount of space and separate zones to keep kids of all ages happy! Highly recommend and such a friendly and helpful owner and caretaker to communicate with. Parking permits also provided to numerous car parks in the area which was a bonus. Will definitely stay here again.

3 generations stayed for a weekend to celebrate my mum's 70th birthday, the property was perfect for us, lots of space, stunning views, huge TV for watching the football! The ballroom was a perfect location for our own church service, especially with the piano too. Lots of wonderful memories made here. Well equipped kitchen. Perhaps worth being aware that the 2 ensuite bedrooms are on the top floor so up 2 flights of stairs in case of any mobility issues. We'd love to return some day.

We had a lovely large family xmas at the house. The views where amazing and the house was really nice and spacious. The kids absolutely loved having a disco downstairs in the ballroom.

Stayed here over New Years 2021/2022. Nine adults/six kids and dogs! House had plenty of room for us all and was comfy and warm. Excellent location for short walk to shops in the bay and short drive to some lovely beaches!

Just had a great week at the Big Sea House. Plenty of room for 3 generations. Bedrooms clean and nicely decorated, living area and ballroom a little tired but that didn't stop us having a great time. We were very lucky with the weather. Only problem was the recycling but a quick trip to the local recycling centre sorted that. We will hopefully be back again.

What a fabulous stay we had! The host replied straight away, the property manager was brilliant and oh that view!!! A fabulous place for a large group. So many memories were made and we’ll be back!

This is a beautiful property , but needs updating and is very tired, its was not cleaned to high standard at all , it was cleaner when we left it as we bought lots of products etc and cleaned it ourselves !! bbq and terrace area had been left from last client. One settee in ballroom had no cover on and was filthy and stained , there were hair balls all over this property our 13 month old kept picking them up. also dining room chairs and outside cushions were stained and also dirty. Bedding and towels were clean , but plug holes in bathrooms were disgusting , we paid a lot of money for this property and certainly was not happy that we had to clean it before we used it , I didn't contact owners until we were leaving because because thought it would have been checked before our arrival , I did contact them on last day , they sent there apologies ??????? but that's it ! to be fair they have had 18 months to clean and freshen up this beautiful house , looks like they have just left it . we will not be returning .

We had a great stay at Big Sea House. We were a large group with a toddler and pre schooler. The views from the house were absolutely stunning, the photos don’t do it justice. The kitchen/ living room and the ballroom downstairs were ideal for socialising as was the lovely terrace overlooking the sea. The parking is a little bit tricky but didn’t cause a huge problem and the permits were very useful. Jeremy gave us some great recommendations and we found plenty to do in the local area. Really recommend Tunnels beaches, kayaking and the sea safari. Watermouth Castle is brilliant for small children and there are lots of lovely local walks. We had a couple of issues with cleaning which were sorted out by Mike quickly. Our only real difficulty was the bins, we couldn’t find any gull bags so despite getting up at 6.30am to get the rubbish out (not ideal on holiday) the gulls pecked at the bags and the bin men wouldn’t take them which meant we had to lug all the rubbish (from our stay and the last people who had been there) back into the house and down to the courtyard. Other than that it was a great stay and we had a lovely time so thanks Jeremy and family!
