I was staying one night in York for work. I chose to stay at a B&B for the ease of having breakfast. The York's Lookout Lodge Bed and Breakfast was excellent. My room was very comfortable and quiet. I had my own bathroom and also had my own, cosy, sitting area. The owners even provided a complimentary port to end the day.
Breakfast was delicious and the hosts were very friendly.
I'd happily recommend this to anyone looking for a quiet stay in York.
It was a little bit further from the town centre that I would have liked. If I had checked Google Maps I would have realised this. It wasn't a problem. But, I was hoping to be able to walk to the town centre.

Jeanette and Paul are very hospitable hosts. Each morning Jeanette made for us two lovely breakfasts. It was delicious!! All the other things in the fridge and room were plenty. Nice location for the lookout ( beautiful sunset) and the beautiful town of York.

We had an absolutely delightful stay with Jeanette and Paul. From the moment we arrived, their warm hospitality made us feel right at home.
The room exceeded our expectations; it's much more spacious than the pictures convey, and of course very clean. We were pleasantly surprised by the generous assortment of snacks and fruits they provided, making our stay even more enjoyable. Breakfast was a highlight, with a variety of options that left us feeling truly satisfied. Also worth mentioning the TV has built-in Roku/Netflix/Youtube etc. The house is also very close to the best lookout in York (as listed).
Jeanette and Paul's house is a treasure trove of collectibles, each piece with its own unique story. Exploring their home was like stepping into a mini-museum, and Jeanette was more than happy to share the fascinating tales behind each item.
What sets this experience apart is the personal touch. Jeanette loves to share stories from her life, creating a genuine connection that made our stay feel more like visiting friends.
We highly recommend Jeanette and Paul's place for anyone seeking a cozy, welcoming atmosphere with thoughtful touches and a dose of storytelling magic. We can't wait to return!

Beautifully set up room with everything anyone could possibly want supplied ( fruit, chocolates, wine and port-so generous) A pleasant out door area for our use too.

Paul & Jeanette provided a very warm welcome and made sure I had a comfortable stay. The bed was comfy, plenty of breakfast was available and a good choice of snacks & drinks were provided in the room. It's in a good location as only a short drive from the town. I'd definitely stay again if in the area.

We were blown away by the sheer generosity of our hosts. Everything was included in the price including an outstanding breakfast! Jeanette and Paul were very friendly but left us to our own devices most of the time although they were willing to help us as needed.

The hosts Jeanette and Paul were super hosts! The room was immaculate and we were spoilt with lots of complimentary extras - especially enjoyed the choccies and a cheeky glass of port! A very comfortable night and we were greeted by a 5 star brekkie in the morning !

The family home was so welcoming with lots of extra touches, really friendly and informative hosts and a really pretty location with views across nearby fields and up to Mt Brown lookout. We were in walking distance of the main street via swing bridge. Would recommend to others either travelling solo or with others.

Jeannette and Paul were lovely hosts and we had good conversations over breakfasts. (With Bread that Paul made!) I stayed in the studio which was like a separate granny flat with a shared courtyard that had a table for eating/socializing and a ping pong table. The Room had everything I needed. I would highly recommend staying here! Its close to town and the lookout over town.

The property Was excellent!! , very clean and tidy. We were blown away by the extra little things that were on offer. It was the best stay ever. Made us feel like we were at home. The breakfast was so so yummy, we were treated like family which what we liked too. If you want to go to York and stay over then you must stay at York’s Lookout Lodge Bed and Breakfast.

The owners Jeannette and Paul put a great deal of work into the space. You could tell there was a lot of thought into it. They provided complementary goodies which went above and beyond. The bed was cozy and we really enjoyed our stay.

The Lodge is in a quiet location and was perfect for me. The lookout is around the corner from where you have a 360 degr. View over the area.
Paul and Jeanette are wonderful hosts. I felt like home straight away. They also provide you with everything what you need and more. I would choose their place again.

Everything that we could require was provided. Bathroom toiletries including hand and body cream. The kitchenette area had, wine, soft drink, many treats and every choice of tea and coffee available. A separate private sitting area was an added bonus. Very comfortable bed with great bedding. Breakfast was another feast, fruit, yoghurt, cereal, toast and eggs all served in beautiful Jim china. Jeanette & Paul are super hosts and couldn't do enough for you. Bed was very comfortable, room was clean and tidy and all the little extras made us feel very welcome. Breakfast was lovely and we enjoyed our chats too!! Location was good and we even managed to have a couple of rounds of table tennis. Value for money. Really enjoyed our stay.

Breakfast was simple but plenty of options with offer of a cooked breakfast too. Lots of tea and coffee options. Good fresh fruit too. Might have been nice to have option to sit outside in outdoor area but then again the second morning it was wet!
Location suited me very well too - could take a morning walk up to the lookout and it was just out of town so quieter in the evenings etc.
Very thankful to be given the garage to park my motorcycle too.
Weather on the last day but that is beyond control of the hosts.

Jeanette and Paul provided such a lovely, exceptional clean room and bathroom. Beautiful and quiet. Breakfast both mornings was everything you could what. Very helpful with information about their town. Would most certainly stay again.

A great B&B! A quite location in York. Private bathroom and sitting area, plus shared covered outdoor area. Very clean and well set up. Many included extras that I had not expected. Hosts are very friendly and helpful.
Perhaps could have better signing to assist with finding B&B for the first time. Bathroom could be updated a little, but very functional and really all that is required.
