Fantastic villa, well appointed and the little touches like welcome pack and shampoo made it feel special. Smart tv (Netflix et al) but we tended to use the provided family games in the evening on the decking. Communications with both Muriel and the owner were excellent, yes there were some challenges with the electricity board tripping, but I have sympathies, French electricians like having long summer holidays and it was a minor thing, not major and essential. Location is special. 2 mins walk from the beach (huge and good for surfing), 3 mins walk from the beach restaurants and bar. The mixture of lake (10min drive) and beach was great for us. Ability to use the eurocamp water park would be handy for those with younger children Extended family of 9 and we were very comfortable. Bordeaux accessible for a day trip in the car (park and ride) along with vineyards Definitely have Hourtin Plage on our list of places to revisit!

L’accueil des propriétaires était chaleureux, ils habitent près de la propriété ce qui permet de nous assister facilement au besoin. Parfait pour vacances en familles-amis. A 2 pas de la plage.

Maison très agréable. Le paquet a été mis sur la décoration, un peu moins sur certains détails de finition. Rien de bien grave mais pour le prix on attend la perfection. Quelques problèmes d'électricité (disjoncteur différentiel a sauté plusieurs fois, notamment lors de la mise en marche du jaccuzi rendant celui-ci inopérant durant toute la semaine). Électricien non dispo pour réparer car débordé au moi d'août. Par contre, propriétaire très réactif pour nous débarrasser du nid de guêpes. Niveau d'équipements fidèle à la description. Il y a tellement de vaisselle disponible dans la cuisine qu'il manque de la place pour ranger les courses. Le jardin est magnifique. Il y a un tuyau d'arrosage bien pratique pour enlever le sable au retour de la plage. Mais une petite douche extérieure serait appréciable. L'emplacement est calme et très proche de la plage. C'est génial. Par contre en journée il y a beaucoup de piétons qui passent dans la rue pour se rendre à la plage. Cette belle maison et ce beau jardin attirent tellement l'attention que 90% des passants ont le regard rivé dessus, et sur nous par conséquent. Ce serait bien d'avoir un portail plus haut pour se sentir chez soi. Très bon accueil et bonne réactivité de la gérante, Muriel. Dernier point : pas de climatisation mais des ventilateurs. C'est pas un drame mais c'est toujours pareil : à 4000 euros la semaine, c'est dommage.

A wonderful house that I can really recommend. Muriel was a helpful and friendly person and the house was the perfect match for our group to celebrate for a week.

Nous avons apprécié la décoration, l'atmosphère, les équipements de la maison et notamment ceux de la cuisine alors que les restaurants sont encore fermés. La literie est confortable et les salles de bains sont bien réparties. La grande télévision nous a permis de passer de bonnes soirées ciné bien au chaud. C'est donc une maison agréable même en hiver il faut juste s'organiser un peu pour les courses en basse saison. Merci à Andréa pour sa gentillesse et ses petites surprises d'accueil !

Idéalement situé. Très joliment décoré. Un séjour avant Noël 🎄 tout simplement idéal avec promenades sur une des plus belles plages de l’Atlantique et dans la pinède adjacente. On recommande chaleureusement.

Just came back from a lovely couple of weeks in France. We stayed at this house for one week. The beach is literally next door. You can reach the sands in 30 seconds and beach in 2 minutes..... The house is very near to few decent eateries. Supermarket is about 5-6 minutes walk and next to it is the water park (entry for the whole family is free!). Beach is lovely and long surrounded by sand dunes and greenery. Great place for the adults, teens and kids. About the house: The house consists of 4 bedrooms - with large bathrooms and toilets - 3 bedrooms are downstairs and one upstairs with a balcony with rattan furniture - very cosy. Open plan kitchen and a laundry room. Outside a gas fired BBQ and a Pizza oven! we gave it a go to the Pizza oven, managed to ace it in couple of tries. House has large TV (65" i think) and Bose sound system. Need I say more? :) - Car parking for 2 cars - alarm and sliding automatic gate. Muriel: Our contact with Muriel started before we left. She is very very helpful and always forthcoming with ideas. Muriel responds to all the request very quickly. She is very good natured person. Owner: Another very helpful person. It was very hot one day and we were struggling with the heat - so we requested if it is possible to have a fan and in no time we had 4. Ah bless her! Kids had a super great time too. So what are the drawbacks: Hmm...it's difficult to find any, however for the sake of completeness, I'll moan about the broadband speed. It is really slow and we had a day or two of interruption where there was no broadband or cellular service in the whole town! You can however argue that you should be outside and not glued to the screen :) All in all a great experience - a beautifully decorated house with all the facilities (big fridge, coffee maker, washing machine, dryer, kettle, recliners etc.) - Would definitely recommend. We were 2 families of size 9 (4 adults, 5 kids of age 8-9) and the house is just right for this size.
