Rented this property for a relaxing getaway for our 10 year anniversary.. very relaxing.. within walking distance to eveything.. owners are great! Highly recommend

Loved the house, the beautiful grounds and the home of the owners. House was spotless and decorated beautifully with custom furniture and antiques. Within walking distance of a park and downtown. Edenton was a gorgeous little town with beautiful old homes. The only problems we had was the commode didn’t flush well and the emails had said we had a checkout of two. We wouldn’t have stayed that late but would’ve prob stayed until 12 or 1 if we hadn’t had someone come ask us when we were leaving and that checkout was ten. I immediately reviewed two emails and saw again that they both said two but we left n ten min. I think it would’ve been nice for the owners to come out and say they were sorry about that or to email later but we heard nothing. Having said all this I would still urge someone to visit Edenton and to stay where we did but to check with owners.

Great weekend getaway! Property is beautiful and the cottage is very cute and clean! The location is awesome and walking distances to all the hot spots. We came by boat so this was very important! Can’t wait to come back!

We thoroughly enjoy d our stay at the cottage. We loved that it was within walking distance of restaurants and downtown. Being so close to the water was fabulous. Hosts were very gracious and welcoming. The only thing I didn’t realize was that the “kitchen” was limited - didn’t realize we wouldn’t have the ability to cook, but with everything so close, it wasn’t an issue. Also, no way to do laundry, but our stay was fairly short that turned out okay too. Had we stayed longer, that may have been an issue, so just something to be aware of - it was probably stated in the property description and I missed it. Overall, a great little get-away!

Fabulous gem within easy walking distance to the historic Edenton sights, shops and restaurants. Well appointed with all the modern conveniences. Directly across the street from Edenton Bay. Wonderful host/owner.

The Carriage House is in a wonderful location; quiet, beautiful and easy walking distance to Broad Street. The rooms were lovely! Every amenity was available, plus the ambience was very comfortable, with a touch of luxury. The property manager and staff were readily accessible, but allowed my daughter and me to enjoy the garden area as if it were our own. I'd readily return for another stay.

Edenton is truly one of the most beautiful and friendly small towns I have ever visited and the accommodations at The Carriage House match that beauty and warmth. The Carriage House is beautifully appointed, fully stocked with amenities and the bed is super comfortable. Hunter is a most gracious host and he knows no end to accommodating his guest’s stay. Shout out to Hunter’s mom Judy, it was wonderful meeting you ❤️.

Would absolutely stay here again. It's a lovely place, lovely setting, so close to everything we wanted to do and see.

We are frequent visitors to Edenton and exclusively stay at this or its’ sister property. Both properties are beautifully decorated and scrupulously clean and well appointed. The host is a phone call and a few steps away. The location is easily walkable to all of the downtown attractions. I can’t recommend the property highly enough!!

We just completed our stay in the Carriage House with the most wonderful Judy Burch and her son Hunter. The place itself was beautiful with everything you could possibly need near at hand. The view from the Front Porch was also delightful. I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Edenton, NC. The town itself is so historic and beautiful and the people so friendly I think everyone should visit! When you're visiting you can't go wrong with a stay in the carriage house!!!

We have been to Edenton several times since discovering it in 2021, having stayed at The Carriage House every time. The porch views of the Albemarle Sound are breathtaking! You will enjoy shopping on Main Street ( 5 min walk), the friendly folks and close restaurants. If you are a history buff there is much to see and learn about in this charming town.

This carriage house is exactly as described and pictured. Location is walking distance to many restaurants & Shopping. Our favorite eatery was Herringbones. Hunter was a pleasure to work with while booking our stay. There is a self guided tour to some very interesting history in Edenton.

We very much enjoyed our stay at this property. Communication with the owner was great. The city has a lot to offer and we especially loved the kindness of the people. If we have the time we will definitely return!

Listing just as described. Beautiful cottage with all that is needed for a weekend stay. Historic sites within walking distance and tasty restaurants to end the day. Nightcaps on the front porch with a glass of wine to enjoy the view was our favorite part. Would not hesitate to book again.

You can take the girl out of Edenton, but you can never take Edenton out of the girl. I found myself needing to return to my childhood hometown due to a family situation. It had been more than 20 years since my last visit, and I was delighted to find this particular carriage house property on Water Street, as I know the area well. My communications with the owner/property manager were always prompt and professional. I found the cottage to be more than I could have even hoped for, and traveling alone, I immediately felt right at home and very comfortable. The family dog was an unexpected bonus and his puppy kisses were much appreciated. I will undoubtedly find myself going back to Edenton more frequently in the coming years and this will be my single “go to” property. I would encourage anyone who is visiting the area to book Burch House By The Bay and surround themselves with the true feel of a beautiful, colonial town known as “The Prettiest Small Town in the South.”

The carriage house was beautiful in a great neighborhood and a great town! We truly enjoyed our stay which included some surprise treats for our anniversary and breakfast and snack items. So hospitable! Recommend this VRBO highly!!

The carriage house was just as it appeared online. Judy, our host, greeted us when we arrived. She was a delight and part of the reason we will return. The property was beautiful and the weekend very relaxing, which is just what we wanted!

As described in listing! Great location, pretty waterfront setting, walkable to all historic areas. For us, Not the warmest weather while visiting (really just passing through) so did not take advantage the outdoor amenities. Interior is gorgeous with beautiful furnishings and many thoughtful touches. Entry at ground level to a nice sitting room. Upstairs is found the bedroom, bathroom & kitchenette, all very tasteful and homey. Streaming worked well on the only TV which is upstairs. Pros: walkable, comfortable furniture, lovely setting, nice coffee machine, & great linens. Cons: Not really cons but worth mentioning: the primary living quarters are on the 2nd floor reached by stairs only. The driveway is narrow and turn around is tight, but manageable, quite common in these historic properties.

Judy was an excellent host! Easy to communicate with upon arrival. I stayed here for my wedding in Edenton and it was the perfect bridal suite! Perfect for getting ready pictures and tons of spots for outlets, multiple mirrors and folks to sit and have coffee and breakfast with me while we all got ready. I wish I could stay here everytime I come to Edenton!

Due to weather concerns, my stay was cut short . Owners very cordial and accommodating. Frequent communication as needed . Had other travel plans so was not there long . Thank you !

The community is terrific as are the property owners. The property is beautiful and close to everything. The owners were anxious to please and very generous but allowing for privacy. The only surprise was all the living space (bedroom, kitchen and bath are upstairs)

Judy & Buddy are amazing. We had a magical wedding ceremony in their beautiful garden area. They made sure it was perfect in every way 💕

We celebrated our 50th Class Reunion from JAHHS and we were able to make new memories in our hometown by staying at this excellent historic home!
