The cottage was very nice! The only downsides were that the wifi data available was very minimal, as well as not being able to dispose of toilet paper in the toilets. Otherwise, our stay was great!

We had a wonderful thanksgiving hiking and enjoying the waterfront and cottage.

There needs to be a set of directions on the counter in the kitchen, such as how much data can be used on wifi, exactly where garbage can be taken and his phone number if he needs to be reached among other things.

property was clean and convenient to get to. Owner was helpful and friendly in suggesting restaurants and things to do. Despite of the unstable weather, the whole family had a nice and relaxing holiday by the lake.

The cleanly Of the cottage is what set the vibe on the right foot. From there the hardwood floors complemented my feet and everyone experience wonderful sleep; while waking up to a stunning views!!! My 2nd time and looking forward to the 3rd❤

Rental home location is great, secluded and private. The lake seems isolated from other lakes. Bunk beds alright for kids and toddlers but little discomfort for adults. Nice large kitchen and toddlers' play area. Boys loved the place. Gravel road leading to house is steep and tricky appropriate for trucks and large SUVs. Family enjoyed the stay. Thanks.

My family and I stayed at Nick's beautiful cottage in August 2016. We had an amazing time. The cottage was bright and comfortable. Every amenity was provided ( except towels and linens) which made our stay very easy and relaxed. Our kids loved the bunk beds and had plenty of space to play in the living room. The kitchen had every imaginable gadget and utensil - nothing was needed at all! The deck is huge and beautiful! Ample seating is available and if you want sun, there was no shortage of it. Being west facing, the sunshine was from 11 onward and we had the most incredible sunsets. We enjoyed the canoe and kayak that were provided to enjoy the quiet and peaceful bay. The lake was ridiculously warm and my husband caught some healthy pike off the dock. The area was terrific for antique hunters and is an easy drive to Bala. At the end of the road there is a tasty pizza joint that does take out and dine in. The location of this place cannot be beat! Nick was very courteous and called before our arrival to go over some things and informed us that we could call him at anytime if we had any issues. Thanks, Nick!

We had a great week at this cottage. It is very modern, clean and well-equipped. Our family of six had no trouble fitting into this place as it is very spacious. One side of the dock allows for a gradual (although a bit slippery) rock-based entry to the water where our kids liked snorkelling. The other dock was a little deeper and really good for fishing for the kids (although too shallow for jumping). While Dark Lake is connected to the bigger Muskoka Lake through a slim boating channel, it is a relatively quiet and calm lake with little boating traffic. Sunsets here are terrific. Cottage is only 10 min away from Bala which has everything you'll need. The owner has a small dvd/games/video game collection for rainy days, but we had only sun. I would recommend checking out the Tues water ski show in Bala and Bush's in Bala where my kids learned to wakeboard in about 5 min. Overall, a great experience and we would rent this place again.

We stayed for a week with our 17 month old and another couple and their child. The cottage had lots of space and everything we needed. Some nice features included: a) lots of boats (canoes, paddle boat, Kayak) with life jackets b) really nice private lake without much boat traffic (only 20 or so cottages on Dark Lake) c) on one end of the lake with a great sunset view from the dock d) new windows that all could be opened, and with screens in tact to keep bugs out e) new large gas barbeque f) water was very clean (not weedy) and was a nice enough temperature to swim with our kids when we went in June. some constructive suggestions to help your stay: a) there's no cable, some movies, boardgames and lots of video games (x-box). so bring some of your own movies if you want b) bring a sharp cutting knife, we couldn't find one to use c) bring bug spray as at night we found the mosquitoes came out (probably a given for a cottage) Try the bakery in Bala, (Dons I think?) everything there was good. We stayed at this cottage with friends and family, we had a wonderful time and will definitely be back! the fire pit is perfect and our kids loved swimming and the hammock. Cottage is clean, bright and beautiful.

We rented this cottage a few weeks back and I have to say it was amazing. Extremely clean and lots of room, it's absolutely immaculate and luxurious. Having kids, it was a pleasure to know everything was comfortable and roomy. The back is very spacious for kids to play and for adults to enjoy the comforts of the dock. The view of the lake and sunset is spectacular, words cannot explain. Nick was pleasure and was extremely helpful to us enjoying our stay. We highly recommend this cottage and it was an absolute pleasure to stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Nick's cottage. Nick was a helpful and communicative host. The cottage was like a comfortable home. We enjoyed the large kitchen, comfortable leather chairs and sofa in the living room and the loft which my son took over to play computer games. The internet and telephone connections were very good and important to us to keep in touch at home and work. It only took 15 minutes to drive our boat into Bala to pick up groceries and on Tuesday night to see a big water/wakeboard show. We enjoyed being so close to the Kee, the Gravenhurst marina and Turtle Jacks in Port Carling. It meant a lot that we could bring our dog with a few visitor dogs coming by who were very friendly. We made friends on lake who gave us a great history of the area. We will definitely stay again and enjoy the warm lake and beautiful sunsets.

We had an amazing stay in this gorgeous cottage. The view of the lake is breathtaking and it's everything you'd expect from this type of getaway. The cottage itself is very well maintained - very clean (and I have high standards!), every room is spacious and well organized, and it has all the ammenities you'd likely need. We highly recommend it to any one that wants a peaceful and relaxing getaway - and we will definitely use this property again! Great value for the amount of space and the quality!

First off, let me tell you how beautiful this area is. It's serene with amazing sunsets that make me forget about my high stress job. The cottage was exactly as described and very clean. Nick was easy to work with and we had no troubles at all. The land is quite private and the neighbours seem great with young kids. I went up with my wife and 2 kids and everyone enjoyed themselves thoroughly. I recommend this to property! - Xristos

The house is absolutely immaculate and both luxurious and comfortable. We really had a perfect stay in this sweet and charming cottage. The cottage was exactly as described. The photos do not do justice to this beautiful property. The cottage is cozy and spotless everything you can possibly need is there. We felt so at home not like other houses we have stayed in. The owners are very lovely and concerned about your stay. The owners were a pleasure to deal with, very accommodating and helpful in every way. We definitely recommend this cottage on the inviting lake with secluded outdoor area. We could not have had a better vacation. If time permits we will be back next year.
