A clean and cozy spot right outside of Asheville. The yard is perfect for dogs! Conveniently close to Sierra Nevada brewery.

This is the THIRD time I have stayed with Kathy at her charming apartment. She is, by far, the most attentive hostess I have ever experienced! Kathy has made some awesome upgrades since my last stay here. She added an awesome HOT TUB, added an awesome stainless steel (extra deep) sink in the kitchen, got a new refrigerator with icemaker and water dispenser, and improved the fire pit area. I continue to love this location because it allows me to access Brevard, all the breweries in Mills River, and Asheville in very “doable drives” (esp nice at night). It’s just EASY EASY EASY and such a relaxing stay. If you want all the relaxation, smells, and “feels” of the mountains (and don’t mind not having or paying for a view), this is the house for you! Also, the king bed sleeps like a dream (I’m sure the others do too…but in three stays I’ve only been on the king and won’t give it up now)!

When we arrived Kathy was vey nice & greeted us on our Arrival. The house was Overall very nice. There were 3 Poodles that barked in the Early Morning when are dogs were Playing outside. You will very enjoy your stay in Mills River & the kindness of The Host if you stay at this Property.

From the proximity to everything I had planned to do in the Asheville/Pisgah area to the cleanliness of the home to the responsive communication with the Property Owner means that when I go back to Asheville I will try to book here first.

We spent two nights here. It was awesome! Location was perfect! The place was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. Owner was so friendly and helpful! We’ll definitely be staying here again!

We experienced a very quiet and peaceful long weekend just as planned. Close to shopping but secluded off main roads. Beds were great and we didn't want to leave.

We wanted to explore Asheville and Hendersonville while having plenty of room for our family of 5 and found Kathy's property in Mills River. It has ease of access to the main roads. Our 2 year old toddler with motor skill delays and sensory issues was happy playing inside and outside the property as it is very spacious. The main room had lots of space for her travel bed and our older boys each had their own room. The decor is classical and gives a cozy feeling with solid wood furniture throughout. The bathroom has a large shower with a seat. Kathy provided towels, toilet paper, hair products, hair dryer... The kitchen is nice and open with modern appliances, a very large sink and anything you might need if cooking for your family. It is a basement property with french doors looking out to Kathy's beautifully maintained garden! Remember you are in the mountains and you will encounter some spiders, ants, mosquitoes... A filter machine is set up inside and you have AC/heat for any type of weather change. There are dogs on the property that are separated by a fence, and are always happy to greet people. Kathy was available in person and by text always happy to give recommendations of places to explore. There is a Bold Rock Cidery 3 minutes away with excellent food. The grocery store is also very close as well as a very large playground surrounded by farmland for amazing sunsets. The street is quiet and walkable. Kathy has great parking right on the property.

We really enjoyed our short stay at Kathryn’s little apartment. The location was wonderful right in the heart of Mills River not far from both the interstate and all of the great hiking areas nearby at Dupont in Pisgah. Everything was very clean and the apartment was really well stocked with all of the necessary kitchen supplies for a great stay. The beautiful garden area with fire pit and chairs was a great touch

Great location - walking distance to brewery . I had dogs with me and they loved running around without worry of traffic . Host was gracious . Mills River is a great place to stay

This was the second time our girl group stayed at Ms Kathy’s place in Mills River! We LOVE THIS PLACE!!! Fire pit at night. Clean. User friendly entry/exit. She has the most comfortable KING BED EVER! She even brought down an ironing board (she doesn’t iron though😉). But we love staying here and already booked our Spring trip!

Very nicely furnished. Kathy came to greet us shortly after our arrival and gave us some useful information about local eating and drinking establishments. Good location with access to many of Asheville's attractions.

We came for vacation and also to visit my son nearby in college. It was a perfect place for bringing out dog! Mills River is a great location to visit Hendersonville, Asheville, and the surrounding areas for hiking, shopping and eating out. Two breweries are in walking distance: the Mills River Brewing Company has great food & beer, offers live music, and is very dog friendly. The apartment was clean and comfortable. Kathy was a welcoming host and helpful when we needed. * My only caveat is that I had searched for "whole house" when looking for a place. It was only later that I fully realized that this rental was a self-contained lower level apartment of the home of the owner. It worked out okay. Second, the house is located in a neighborhood surrounded by busy state highways. In order to take long walks, we had to get in the car and drive. Again, something I didn't investigate more deeply on a map. I would absolutely stay there again and recommend to others.

The location is awesome really back to nature.Kathy is a great host just a text away apartment was great with comfy beds and big tv slept like a rock so peaceful.Fully equips kitchen. Will be back again

The location is FABULOUS! So easy to get to Asheville, Hendersonville, and Flat Rock for breweries, shops, restaurants, etc. The back yard is VERY secure for your dogs and it’s beautiful and private. We lit the fire pit several nights and had wonderful conversations. Highly recommend. 5 stars to the host!!

Just the right place for us and our dog. Location was great as our first time to the area as we were within 30-40 minutes of anywhere… Asheville, Black Mountain, Hendersonville, Lake Lure, etc.

We got everything we need!! After our day’s activities, Kathy was always there in the gazebo to greet us like a Mother waiting for her kids, asking what we need.

This was a short stay. The place was cute for a basement area.

A group of friends and I stayed at this house on a recent mountain biking trip to Pisgah. Beyond being centrally located to the bike trails, the house was a stone's throw away from wonderful food and drink (Conosur & Mills River Brewing). The proprietor of the house was kind, helpful, and supportive ("feel free to store you [dirty] bikes inside of the house"). We could not have been happier with the accommodations. Highly recommend!

Well, I cannot say enough about the graciousness of our property hostess, Kathy! From start to finish she made sure our every need was met. The beds were wonderfully comfortable! The property was super clean and “as advertised” from the pictures. Our girls group spent a bunch of time outside on the patio and enjoy the fire pit at night. My favorite thing about this place (and the reason why I will continue to go back) is how close it was to both Asheville and Brevard. Nothing was too far away… And we were right on top of all of the Mills River breweries which provided for excellent entertainment at night and an easy crawl home. Highly recommend this property!!! PS it comes with all the free fresh mint from the garden you could ever want!

I was planning a girls' weekend to Biltmore with four other friends and found this on Air BnB. It was a great location! It was spacious, comfortable, and attractively decorated. Kathy was a wonderful host who thought of everything. She also gave us a great recommendation for a restaurant where the dinner was delicious. I highly recommend Kathy and her Mills River apartment.

We really enjoyed our stay in Mills River. This basement apartment is well appointed. We had one all-day rainy day so we really appreciated the oversize TV to binge watch Netflix. We used the firepit on 2 separate occasions. As others noted, the host, Kathy, is responsive. She also nicely collected my Blue Apron box and refrigerated it for us! Some others called out the bird feeders - we loved this too! Tons of blue jays! I really liked that the Ingles was so nearby and the Ace Hardware (for firewood).
